How to specify an elliptical region to be used in ROIToMask
I'd like to make an specified elliptical descrpitor for IMAQ ROIToMask, but I don't know how.
Ishi,
You can define an Oval for ROItoMask by creating your own ROI Descriptor. Below is the datastructure for an ROI Descriptor. I have provided a description of what needs to be in the ROI Descriptor to create an oval.
Array of Clusters
Array of I32 - Global Rectangle is the minimum rectangle required to contain all of the contours in the ROI.
Contours are each of the individual shapes that define the ROI, as follows:
ID refers to whether the contour is the external or internal edge of an ROI. If the contour is external, all of the area inside it is considered part of the ROI. This VI draws the contours in the order that they are listed in the ROI Descriptor.
Type is the shape type of the contour.
Coordinates is the coordinates that define the contour.
1. I32 Array Global Rectangle is the minimum rectangle required to contain all of the contours in the ROI.
2. Array of Clusters
So, basically you need to define a global rectangle

[Solved] How to specify which version of Java to use?
I have OpenJDK 7 as my default, but I also am trying to use Oracle's Java 7 for a specific program. I have installed jdk7-compat as suggested by the arch wiki, but I am unsure how to use it specifically.
java -version outputs:
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.5.0) (Arch Linux build 7.u60_2.5.0-2-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.60-b09, mixed mode)
so OpenJDK is still the default, which is good. At the same time, how do I use Oracle's Java for a specific program?
Last edited by TheGuyWithTheFace (2014-07-01 16:50:01)You have to create a bash script to execute that program, where you define your Java variables. For example, let's supposed your oracle Java is installed at /opt/java_1.6.14/ folder
#!/bin/bash
export JAVA_HOME=/opt/java_1.6.14/
export PATH=/opt/java_1.6.14/bin:$PATH
<your command>

How to specify PACKAGE SIZE for to RFC_READ_TABLE from PyRFC?
I'm trying to use PyRFC to extract large tables via RFC_READ_TABLE (due to an uncooperative/unsupportive basis team).
I know that RFC_READ_TABLE supports calling it with PACKAGE SIZE since ERPConnect does it by default.
In Python for Basis (Part 1), I learned how to specify an Open SQL where clause using the OPTIONS:
result = connector.call('RFC_READ_TABLE',
QUERY_TABLE=tablename,
DELIMITER=delimiter,
OPTIONS = [{'TEXT':where_clause}])
Is there a way, and how to specify PACKAGE SIZE in this case?
ThanksHi,
the package size works, but you need to call the function module multiple times in a loop. Here's an excerpt of the attached script:
recordcounter = 1 #needs to be >0 to get the while loop going
iteration = 0 #the number of times the function module got called
while recordcounter > 0: #as long as the function module calll returns rows...
tempresult = self.call('RFC_READ_TABLE',
ROWSKIPS=iteration*fetchsize, #defines the number of rows to skip
**parameters)
iteration=iteration+1 #increase the iteration
data = tempresult['DATA'] #assign the returned rows to a variable
if len(data) > 0: #have there been any rows?
for row in data: #Do something with them
else:
recordcounter=0 #set recordcounter to 0 to end the while loop.
The script is far away from being perfect. It doesn't deal with RAW fields and the data types it returns are all strings. It does what I needed it to do but it may not be sufficient for what you may be trying to achieve.
Best regards

How to specify -preview when launching via AppleScript
I have an InDesign Server CS5.5.I have a shell script that waits for xml files to be placed into a certain directory on the server. When it sees a file in the folder it launches an applescript that controls InDesign Server. I need to know how to specify the -preview option for the InDesign Server binary so the files generated by the server will have previews when they are opened in InDesign client. The apple scripts look like this:
tell application "InDesign Server"
-- do some stuff
end tell
Where/how would I specify the -preview option. I see nothing referring to the -preview option in the Library for indesign.There's two ways to set it:
1) in command line when you launch the executable, there's a preview option. I don't remember off hand the exact syntax.
2) In the script itself (using Javascript syntax -- Applescript would be similar) app.serverSettings.imagePreview = true;

How to specify a variable in the script logic
I want to pass a variable from the process chain using the prompt statement.
I want to refer to the variable name in the script. When I used the following statement in the script file, I got an error when validating the statement below:
//Increase Wage and Salary & Personnel Exp. by entered percentage
[P_ACCT].[#CE0004020] = [P_ACCT].[CE0004020] * ( 1 + $WS_PERCT$ / 100)
Syntax error:Reference Error: $WS_PERCT$ is not defined
One of the how-to guides indicated that I should use the dollar sign before and after the variable name.
Can someone explain how to specify a variable name in the script.
Thanks.Thanks, Pravin.
I tried using the syntax with the # sign (as shown below) but when I validate the code I get an error. The message indicates there is an issue with $WS_PERCT$.
Syntax error:Reference Error: $WS_PERCT$ is not defined
P_ACCT].[#CE0004020] = [P_ACCT].[CE0004020] * ( 1 + $WS_PERCT$ / 100)
Can you please advise if am missing something here in the code.

How do I specify the JRE i wish to use to Run an Application.
Hi Everyone;
Please bear with me if you read this before.
I have installed java 1.3.1 and java 1.4.1 in that order.
The JRE used by default is java 1.4.1
How do I specify the JRE I wish to use to Run an Application from a command prompt.
Example:
Java -something org.jboss.Main
help ??
StephenI was a lil embarrassed. I told my supervisor that the installation of java overwrites the JRE and that's that.
My supervisor took 10 minutes and went through it and found java.exe in the System32 file.
The java.exe file is found in guess where "C:/WINNT/System32/" folder how nice. C:/WINNT/System32/ is in the path. Not only that it's the first entry in the path. So when I execute java it is not using java.exe any one of the java files that I got from the java website.
So I don't have any control over the version.
Oh well;
That's life. That's 1 for my supervisor.

How do I transfer arrange regions from Logic 8 to Logic 9 Pro?
I am tired of waiting for Logix X or whatever it will be called and intend to download Logic 9 pro from the app store. I moved my old Logic 8 to the new mountian lion macbook pro, but am having dreaded system error notifcations on the first project I started on the new computer. Simple googling shows that Mountain lion does not like Logic 8. Hence, my intent to download Logic 9 pro. Hopefuly that satisfies my needs until X comes out.
The question is simple. I have a 2 audio regions and 2 software instrument regions in the project I started in the old logic 8 . They are pretty much done and are the backbone of this new song. How do I get these regions over to a new Logic 9 project when 9 is finally downloaded and on- board the new computer.
Step by step instructions would really be appreciated. Thank you.
Any tips/caveats regarding the logic 9 download are also appreciatedWhen you say "move logic 8 from the applications folder" do you mean to click and drag somewhere?
Where would I drag it so that the project only opens up in the newly installed logic 9?
Thank you. (I thought logic 9 would be empty and not automatically incorporate the existing logic 8 projects). -

How to specify HTML meta tags?
I'm trying to get a portal to always have the following an HTML meta tag in the head of the generated HTML:
<meta name="ROBOTS" content="NOFOLLOW" />
I haven't seen any documentation about doing this in particular, but looking at some of the XML schema (*.xsd) files in various weblogic-specific jars, it seems like maybe the following would work in the <netuix:head> tag of the .portal configuration file for the portal:
<netuix:head>
<netuix:meta name="ROBOTS" content="NOFOLLOW" />
</netuix:head>
However, this does not seem to work.
Also, I've checked the skin.properties file to see if there are any comments about how to specify meta tags, but there aren't any.Turns out there are a number of ways to do this. A BEA consultant recommended modifying the "head.jsp" for the portal's skin.
Alternatively, it dawned on me that all I had to do was put the meta tags in a jsp and use that jsp in the head area of the .portal file. For example:
<netuix:head>
<netuix:jspContent contentUri="/resources/jsp/customHead.jsp"/>
</netuix:head> -
How to specify page encoding for XML reports.
Hi,
Environment: Apps:11.5.10, Oracle Reports: 10g
I'm trying to generate XML tags by using a "rdf" report (10g).
Initially I generated the XML tags before moving the report to server. In the output file I got
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="WINDOWS-1252"?>
Then I moved the report to server and made the concurrent program output to XML.
In the concurrent program output the tag is
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="&Encoding"?>
The output shows error
===============
XML Parsing Error: XML declaration not well-formed
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="&Encoding"?>
Its clear that there is something wrong with page encoding format which has to get assigned while run time. But its not happening so.
How to specify the page encoding format?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
BKR.
Edited by: BalaKrishna Reddy Avuthu on Aug 14, 2009 2:00 PMRemove the encoding so it says:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
Also, you will get a similar error if your xml tags for fields contain any special characters like & or #. -

How to specify a mapping file using annotations?
Thanks
tdeerWe you codegen a Policy annotated WSDL, the policies are get included in the stub. Hence you don't have to specify a separate Policy file.
But if you need to use a separate policy then you need to set them in the AxisDescription object that you use in the ServiceClient and OperationClient.
e.g.
ServiceClient serviceClient = new ServiceClient();
OperationClient operationClient = serviceClient
.createClient(ServiceClient.ANON_OUT_IN_OP);
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream("path-to-policy.xml");
Policy servicePolicy = PolicyEngine.getPolicy(fis);
AxisService axisService = serviceClient.getAxisService();
axisService.getPolicyInclude().setPolicy(servicePolicy);
If you need more information please repost this to [email protected] with a [AXIS2] subject prefix. -
