How to Specify the environment variable JCE_POLICY_ZIP and restart

Hello All,
I am installing the ABAP SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 ABAP Trial Version.
sapinst.exe installed successfully.
I am installing the sapinstgui.exe but I got the following message:
Program is starting... Please wait!

jre\bin\java.exe
For the requested processing mode java policy
files within the used SAP JVM are needed.
Specify the environment variable JCE_POLICY_ZIP and restart.
See also SAP note 1238121.
Exit status of child: 10
JRE is installed in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_19
How do I specify the environment variable JCE_POLICY_ZIP?
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I had the same problem and found the solution !
I was trying to setup the GUI thanks to sapinstgui.exe from the trial download folder and I got the exact same message,
The problem is not the policies but the installation file.
The installation file for the GUI is located at :
<extract_folder_SAP_trial_version>\GUI\SAP_GUI_FOR_WINDOWS(...)\SAP_GUI_for_windows_(...)_Components.exe
Hope it helps !

• How to set the Environment Variable

I'm going through a tutorial on how to create an application and run from the command prompt. I have finished installing my jdk 6 Upadate 5 but i don't know how to set the Environment Variable for the javac compiler and the java interpreter to find my program.

• How to set the environment variable of csh

Hello expert,
I set the environment varibale of csh after I upgade the oracle 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.5. I added "setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH ${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:/oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient" to profile ".dbenv_GVSHP101.csh" . But when I run env in my os , it showed LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/sap/IDS/SYS/exe/run:/usr/sap/IDS/SYS/exe/uc/linuxx86_64:/oracle/IDS/102_64/lib:/oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient:/oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient
. There are two :/oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient in my environment varibale. I do not why. How can I set the environment? Thanks a lot.

Hallo,
I don't know which O/S you are using and how your .dbenv-files looks.
However, as quick work around you could just add the following lines to the end of .dbenv_<hostname>.csh:
unsetenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/sap/IDS/SYS/exe/run:/usr/sap/IDS/SYS/exe/uc/linuxx86_64:/oracle/IDS/102_64/lib:/oracle/client/10x_64/instantclient

• I am trying to install itunes 10 but error messages saying could not update the environment variable PATH and CLASSPATH appear. how can i fix this?

this is really frustrating ive been googling for hours trying to find the solution! any help would be greatly appreciated. I have windows 7 and the newest gen ipod nano

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

• How can I use environment variables in a controller?

Hi all,
How can I use environment variables in a controller?
I want to pass a fully qualified directory and file name to FileInputStream and would like to do it by resolving an env variable, such as $APPLTMP.
Is there a method somewhere that would resolve this??
By the way,Did anyone used the class of "oracle.apps.fnd.cp.request.RemoteFile"?
The following is the code.
My EBS server is installed with 2 nodes(one for current,and other is for application and DB).I want to copy the current server's file to the application server's $APPLTMP directory. But the result of "mCtx.getEnvStore().getEnv("APPLTMP")" is current server's $APPLTMP directory.
Can anyone help me on this?
private String getURL()

String twoTask = mCtx.getEnvStore().getEnv("TWO_TASK");

However within OAF on the application it doesn't.
what doesnt work, do you get errors or nothing ?XX_TOP is defined in adovars.env only. Anywhere else this has to go?
No, it is read from the adovars.env file only.Thanks

• How to use windows environment variable "%appdata%" in TEXT_IO built-in

Hello Sir/Madam,
I'm currently using TEXT_IO built-in package to write data file user's "C" drive in Oracle Forms 6i on Windows XP OS. We are in the process of upgrading the OS to Windows7. This new version does not allow to write to "C" or "D" drive. I was wondering how I can use windows environment variable "%appdata%" in this built-in to write the data file to user's AppData folder?
I would appreciate your help.
Regards,
Vani Sonti

You are obviously not familiar with the architecture of webforms. See here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/275632-133265.pdf
I guess you are running your forms locally, so the forms server and the client run on the very same machine. This won't be the case once you run in production, as you will have an application server and clients connecting to the server.
text_io, tool_env and all the forms built ins will be executed on the machine the forms runtime runs on, and in a 3 tier architecture this is the application server, not the client as the real client will run just a java applet which actually just does what the forms runtime on the server tells it to do (or passes client side events like mouse clicks to the forms runtime on the server).
A very simple explanation for the architecture would be that the whole GUI part has been ripped off the forms runtime and put into a java applet; the logic part (the old-fashioned forms runtime) where the whole Forms PL/SQL code is executed communicates with the GUI part (which is implemented as a java applet) via HTTP, so there is no need to have both running on the very same machine.
So if you are writing a file with text_io on c:\dummy.txt this file will be generated on the application server machine as it is executed where the forms runtime runs. If you read environment variables with tool_env.getvar you will get the environment variable from the application server machine.
If you need those variables from your application server then those built-in packages are what you need, but if you need the real client variables there is no way around java in webforms 6i. But the beans should be simple enough to have them written within no time ;)
cheers

• How to specify pairs of variabel names and values in OdiInvoke

Hi,
If you start the scenario from a web service, you are invoking the service OdiInvoke. When you look at the WSDL for this Web Service, you will notice that beyond the scenario name, version and the execution context, you can specify pairs of variable names and values. The WSDL for the web service as following:
<xsd:complexType name="SessionRequestType">
<xsd:sequence>
<xsd:element minOccurs="0" default="true" type="xsd:boolean" name="Synchronous"/>
<xsd:element minOccurs="1" type="xsd:long" name="SessionId"/>
<xsd:element minOccurs="0" default="true" type="xsd:boolean" name="KeepVariables"/>
<xsd:element minOccurs="0" type="VariableType" name="Variables" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>
<xsd:complexType name="VariableType">
<xsd:all>
<xsd:element type="xsd:string" name="Name"/>
<xsd:element type="xsd:string" name="Value"/>
</xsd:all>
</xsd:complexType>..........
If i call this OdiInvoke web service from BPEL, From BPEL assign activity, how can i specify pairs of variable names and values? Example: i have variable 1 and value1, variable 2 and value2, how to assign them to pairs if variable names and values. so that after the assignment, the payload for assign activity in BPEL can be become as following:
<Variables>

<Value>value1</Value>

<Value>value2</Value>
</Variables>
Thanks!
Susan

Try this way,
In the expression builder copy the xml fragment to the target node. This will result in the below assign action in the bpel code
<assign name="Assign1">
<copy>
<from expression="<Variables><Name>variable1</Name><Value>value1</Value><Name>variable2</Name><Value>value2</Value></Variables>"/>
<to variable="outputVaribable"/>
</copy>
</assign>

• How to specify the target name while deploying a code in OSB-- Plz Help

Hi all,
Am working in creating a cluster environment. For my testing i created a new managed server(OSB_Server) in 9001 port in the admin console itself and that server started running. The default managed server(Admin_Server) is in 7001 port. So when i deploy a code in 7001 sb console the WSDL gets exposed in 7001 because the default admin server port is 7001. While deploying a code in service bus admin console we are not specifying the target name. So how to specify the target name while deploying the code in service bus admin console. Plz help me.
Regards
Prabhu

Hi Prabhu,
There are three kind of server architecture possible for OSB -
1. Single server - Everything gets deployed on Admin server itself
2. Admin Server + Single Managed Server for OSB -- OSB configuration gets deployed on OSB managed server. OSB resources (proxy service, WSDL, Schema) will remain available on OSB managed server port only and NOT on admin server port
3. Admin Server + OSB cluster -- OSB configuration gets deployed on OSB cluster. OSB resources (proxy service, WSDL, Schema) will remain available on OSB Cluster port(s) only and NOT on admin server port
Converting one type of server architecture to any other type, requires a manual tedious process, so it is suggested that you create domain accordingly i.e. if you need clusters then while creating domain itself, create OSB cluster, so that all OSB applications gets deployed to OSB cluster. I will suggest you to create a clustered domain from scratch and import the configuration from your existing domian to this new clustered domain.
