Yes, but keep the following in mind:
The Multicast Rate option sets the threshold throughput level a wireless client must obtain in order to be "accepted" by the base station. The lower this value, theoretically, the greater number of clients that can connect, especially those at greater distances from the base station. At the opposite end, the higher this number, only those wireless clients that can achieve the higher throughput value will be able to connect. The multicast rate is not related to what type of equipment you are using. The multicast rate has no effect on the maximum data rate used by the base station. It only affects the lowest rate at which the base station will keep a connection open. The multicast rate is dependent on how much RF noise you have in the area. Remember that increasing the multicast rate causes a decrease in effective range.

If you are both getting each others messages then it sounds like you have a common contact method being used.
Check your settings on each device as detailed in the article below and remove any common contact method.

How I fixed my wifi on iphone with clearwire

After so many tries and hours of pain........!
I first got on apple support and had my internet redone by support help. Then went to the genius bar and made sure my iphone worked with wifi-it did.
Then back to the drawing board. Finally went to the about mac on my imac and found out my clearwire had a fixed dns.
in system profile, I looked at the network tab and found my dns. Server address. Back to my iphone.
So I put it in and went to the settings and instead of dhcp, I used boot. Works great, only shows the dns for clearwire. Works to fast to be edge, as edge is the only thing that shows-but it works fast!
Tried weather, stocks works great. BUT not itunes?

You say fixed DNS.
Have you tried running iPhone in regular WiFi mode, and changing the DNS addresses manually? Then seeing if all the features plus iTunes WiFi Store works?
Might be a possibility a port is being blocked that won't allow iTunes WiFi Store to access the internet correctly.
Can you even access it on a home computer?

Have her log out of iMessage/Facetime/iCloud on her device.   Now have her use the new ID she has created.
That should keep the 2 of you separated, except for iTunes purchases.   You can share that ID in a family up to 5 devices.

The way to keep the photos from downloading to your wife's phone would be for her to go to Settings > iCloud > Photos > and turn off iCloud Photo Library. You can create a new Apple ID by going to Settings / iTunes & Apps and create new account. Even if she creates a new account, she can still see the content she has for music or apps downloaded on phone currently, though if updating apps, she'll need to enter in your Apple ID and password because it was bought through yours.
Though for any free apps you've downloaded, just redownload with new account you create but anything you bought, you'd have to rebuy because it wasnt through the new account.

You would each need to use your own user account on the Mac, you can do this at system preferences > users & groups.

I can tell you how to do this but first wanted to be sure that's what you want to do. You would then be sharing the same iCloud account and any synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) would then be merged and the merge data would appear on her phone and your iPad (i.e., you'll end up with each other's contacts on your phone). You would also both be backing up your devices to the same account, sharing the 5GB of free storage (assuming you're both backing up to iCloud).
There's an alternative setup that would allow her to set up your iCloud account on her phone as her primary account and just turn on photo stream in that account (allowing your to share you photo stream), then set up a secondary iCloud account on her phone that would sync her Mail, Notes, Contacts, Calendars and Reminders. She would still have to back up her phone to your account, as well as syncing Safari, Documents and Find My iPhone (all of which can only be done in the primary account). Also, her mail would be fetch, not push as push email is only supported in the primary account.
I suppose a third option is to leave things as they are and share you photos with each other using shared photo streams.
Let me know what you want to do and I'll give you the steps.

How are you importing photos? The photos (camera roll) from my wife's iPhone 5 syncs via wifi to my iPhoto account on the the laptop. This happens when she logs on to the laptop. We do not use the same Apple ID.
Like I said, I did this a couple years ago. I totally forgot how I did it and what method (iTunes settings?, Mac settings?, iPhone setting?) I utilized.
I was over at the forum which deals with iPhoto but they feel it is an iCloud issue.

So, just to clarify, you're a "computer person" and cannot follow links? Well ok, here goes
Download theiCloud Control Panel.
To enable iCloud on your Windows PC, first set up iCloud on your other devices, then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows (Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 or Windows 7 required).Download now (you have to follow that link I cannot post the file here).
Turn on iCloud.
From the Windows Start menu, choose iCloud Control Panel.
Enter the Apple ID you used to create your iCloud account and select the iCloud services you’d like to enable.
For mail, contacts, and calendars, you can use iCloud.com or Outlook 2007 or later.
On your iPhone go to settings-iCloud and ensure you're signed in and that "photo stream" is enabled.

Tell your wife to get her own Apple ID. If you do not want continuity/handoff to work with calls, on both devicesgo to Settings==>>FaceTime==>> Turn OFF iPhone cellular calls.
