Im using a Crystal report and i have to split the records to be printed from the application.For Eg: I Generate a report which has about 2000 pages, now i want to print first 500 as one job and then the second job with the other 500 and til 2000 pages.Now i want to know how to split this records..If i use page count and split for first 500 and then how would the second job know that from where it has to continue (How will it take the 501th record).

When I need to do something like that I use the primary sort field as the limiting feature.  For example: if I'm printing a report sorted by Name I'll have parameters for the first letter of the name.  So if the user enters the range A to E, then only names that start with those letters are printed.  The pages wonlt be exactly as if you'd printed the whole report, but it makes in manageable.

    Hi All,
    Can you please let me know how can migrated the crystal reports from BO XI 3.1 to SAP BO 4.1 and after migrate how to open the crystal reports 2008 in CRYSTAL REPORTS ENTERPRISE 4.0.
    can you please help on this and if document please share.
    Thanks,

    Use the upgrade management tool to move from 3.1 reports to BO 4.1. After migration, open the report in crystal enterprise 4.0, you will get a message saying that the report will be converted to latest version, will not be able to view from older version after converting. (Similar words- not sure exact words).

  • How to change the Crystal Reports start page

    The CR Start page has a panel on the bottom half which displays Highlights, Key Resources, and eLearning tabs. It is annoying. How do I turn it off?

    One more idea:
    Go to your below directory on your machine:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\Start Page\en
    Take a backup of start.html file (If the below, doesn't work you can put it back)
    Open start.html and edit in notepad remove below code and save it , your annoying tab disappears

  • Where can I find a copy of the Crystal Report Print Control

    Hello,
    Our users have access to a report portal developed in house which uses the Crystal Report Viewer to display the Crystal Reports created in Visual Studio 2010. the first time they open the portal and try to print the report the loading dialog box that comes up keeps spinning and spinning. The reason for that is that they don't have admin rights to the computer. I would like a copy of the driver so We can push it out to their computers. Any idea where I can find a downloadable version?

  • How do you set the Crystal Report Viewer Printer to Duplex

    Using the code below I can print in duplex mode, but this does not let me view a report before printing
    How do I set the Printer in the Viewer Control Bar of the Crystal Report Viewer to Duplex Printing programmatically rather than having to manually select Duplex through the preferences option?
    I have searched but the only example code I found produces errors in the code and will not run
    Private myReport As ReportDocument
    myReport = New ReportDocument()
    myReport.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperA4
    myReport.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Portrait
    myReport.PrintOptions.PrinterDuplex = PrinterDuplex. Vertical
    myReport.PrintToPrinter(3, False, 0, 0)
    In my VB6 Project that I am converting to VB.NET when I added Report.PrinterDuplex = crPRDPVertical, this allowed me to view the report and then print with Duplex without having to set the Print Preferences manualy

    You can mix both engines, just declare them both with different report object names. Here's all of my references:

    And it works for me...

  • How to increase the width of the Crystal Report

    Hello All
    How to increase the width of the Crystal report template in the CR designer in .NET 2005 editor ?
    I need to design a report which has to accomodate more number of columns.So achieve that i need to redesign the report having more width.
    CrystalReports version 10.2.3600.0
    Thanks in advance
    Srivatsa

    HI Srivatsa,
    You can make a wider report by creating virtual pages. Virtual pages are the extra pages to the right of the main page that get created to accommodate cross-tabs that are wider than a single page. By inserting a cross-tab in a report then suppressing it, you can create a report that is multiple pages wide.
    Insert and Suppress a Cross-Tab
    1. On the 'Insert' menu, click 'Cross-Tab'.
    2. In the Cross-Tab Expert, click any field and move it into the 'Columns' box, and click any field and move it into the 'Summarized Fields' box. Do not move any fields into the 'Rows' box.
    3. Click the 'Customize Style' tab and select the following check boxes:
    " Suppress Empty Rows
    " Suppress Empty Columns
    " Suppress Row Grand Totals
    " Suppress Column Grand Totals
    4. Click the 'OK' button and then insert the cross-tab into the Report Header section.
    5. On the 'Report' menu, click 'Format Sections'. Click 'Report Header' and select the 'Underlay Following Sections' check box.
    When you run the report you will not see the cross-tab, but you will be able to scroll to the right and see multiple virtual pages.
    ====================
    NOTES:
    " As there are no rows to the Cross-Tab, it does not carry on to Page 2 and the virtual pages do not appear past the first page.
    " To increase or decrease the number of virtual pages do one of the following:
    - Limit the number of records for the field in the 'Column' box of the 'Cross-Tab Expert' using the 'Select Expert'.
    - Change the width of the 'Column' field in the Cross-Tab by moving the edges of the field.
    ====================
    How to Insert Fields on Virtual Pages
    You cannot drag-and-drop a field onto a virtual page, you can only do so on the main page. To get a field to appear on a virtual page:
    1. Insert the field on the main page.
    2. Click the 'Preview' tab.
    3. Drag the right edge of the field to the right, onto the virtual page.
    4. Drag the left edge of the field to the right, onto the virtual page.
    Hope this helps!!

    Shweta

  • How to create a report with data using the Crystal Reports for Java SDK

    Hi,
    How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
    I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats.  I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
    ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
    boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
    However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file.  Is this possible?  I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
    is there a way to do this through these packages?
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.data
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.definition
    Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?
    Thank you in advance for any insights.

    Hi Rameez,
    After working through the example code some more, and doing some more research, I remain unable to populate a report with my own data and view the report in a browser.  I realize this is a long post, but there are multiple errors I am receiving, and these are the seemingly essential ones that I am hitting.

              String tableName = "Building";
                String fieldname = "Building_Name";
                Table oTable = new Table();

    This code succeeds, but it is not clear how to add that database field to a section.  If I attempt to call the following:

                oFieldObject.setDataSourceName(field.getFormulaForm());
                oFieldObject.setFieldValueType(field.getType());
                // Now add it to the section

                oFieldObject.setTop(120);
                oFieldObject.setWidth(1911);
                oFieldObject.setHeight(226);
                rcd.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController().add(oFieldObject, rcd.getReportDefController().getReportDefinition().getDetailArea().getSections().getSection(0), -1);
    Then I get an error (which is not unexpected)

  • How to set printersettings for the crystal report viewer in SAP BI dynamically

    Hello
    I have set the URL method for my crystal report and with parameter passing as shown below, it was displaying the crystal report viewer by connecting to the SAP BI 4.0 server with this method.
    http://cr:port/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=CRLabelParam&sType=rpt&lsSnPrinted=0&lsSsTestProjectNr=1
    This URL will be called from Web application by different users, i would like to set the printer settings differently for different users for this crystal report viewer how shall i need to set the printer options?
    shall i need to set the printer settings programatically for each user. Please advise me how do i need to proceed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajeswari.

    There are no BI / CR APIs that would do this for you. The way I see it, you'll have to have your own print button and populate it with the correct printer information for each user as they request the report. Of course, alternatively, use the viewer printer button and get the users to choose the correct printer.

    Just to get the terminology correct. I believe you are meaning the Group Tree(?).
    Vb Code:
    CrystalActiveXReportViewer1.DisplayGroupTree = False.
    Also, do consult the developer help file;

  • How to split the report into different versions view 1 agent delivery

    Hello
    I have a scenario where I need to send a dashboard to multiple users. The user information are stored in the table like the following:
    USER    Day     Car                  Pay Type                    Cost   Email
    USER1
    -10
    -2
    Honda
    Customer Pay
    500
    [email protected]
    USER2
    -4
    -1
    AUDI
    Customer Pay + Warranty
    1000
    [email protected]
    USER2
    -4
    -1
    PORSCHE
    Customer Pay + Warranty
    1000
    [email protected]
    Now I have a dashboard call Car, on this dashboard I have prompts like Date, Car, Pay Type, Cost, pretty much the same name as the columns in the above table. I have also set up session variables to pick up users based on the log in.
    Now for user2, he is getting 1 email, which is the dashboard with both Audi and Porsche on there. Instead, he wants to 2 attachments, 1 for Audi and 1 more Porsche. Is there a way to achieve this using 1 agent?
    Please let me know how to split the result sets based on user records in the table
    Thank you

    Here's a routine that also searches for subreports to set the log on info. Simply remove that aprt to set the main report logon info:
    IDatabaseTablePtr pTable;
    //get first table
    pTable = m_Report->Database->Tables->GetItem(1) ;
    long lTableCount = m_Report->Database->Tables->Count;
    for( long lTable=1; lTable<=lTableCount; lTable++ )
         pTable = m_Report->Database->Tables->GetItem(lTable);
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->DeleteAll();
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("DSN", "Name of your DSN");
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Database", "Demo");
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Password", "sa");
         pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("User ID", "1Oem2000");
    // Log on the tables of the subreports.
    long lSectionCount = m_Report->Sections->Count;
    for( long lSection=1; lSection<=lSectionCount; lSection++ )
         ISectionPtr pSection = m_Report->Sections->Item[lSection];
         long lSubreportCount = pSection->ReportObjects->Count;
         for( long lSubreport=1; lSubreport<=lSubreportCount; lSubreport++ )
              IReportObjectPtr pSubreportObject = pSection->ReportObjects->Item[lSubreport];
              CRObjectKind crObjectKind;
              pSubreportObject->get_Kind(&crObjectKind);
              if( crObjectKind == crSubreportObject )
                   ISubreportObjectPtr SubReportPtr = pSubreportObject;
                   IReportPtr pSubReport = SubReportPtr->OpenSubreport();
                   long lTableCount = pSubReport->Database->Tables->Count;
                   for( long lTable=1; lTable<=lTableCount; lTable++ )
                        pTable = m_Report->Database->Tables->GetItem(lTable);
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->DeleteAll();
                        //pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("DSN", "dwcb12003");
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Database", "CrystalEport_DB");
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("Password", "sa");
                        pTable->ConnectionProperties->Add("User ID", "1Oem2000");
    If that doesn't work you need to tell us what is the error you are getting and paste in the code you are using.

  • ObjectId@: How to drawn the ObjectId@ token into the Crystal Report????

    In all documentation about the tokens to be used in order to have the right document published in CR, there's no reference how SBO draw the the ObjectId@ into the report. In the standard CR reports SAP delivers with SBO, the DocKey@ is drawn by a formule (table.DocEntry = {?DocKey}.
    I can't find anything in the standard CR reports, how this is done with the Token ObjectId@.
    Does anyone have specific information about this?
    With regards,
    Freek

    Hello Gordon,
    I don't agree to that. If you look in the orignal documen '' How to Work with Crystal Reports in
    SAP Business One " you can read:
    The ObjectId@ token is recommended for inclusion in Crystal Reports layouts that you want
    to assign to multiple sales and purchasing documents. For example, you can include the
    ObjectId@ token if you want to include dynamic titles that change according to different
    document types.
    Furtheron, if you look in the standard CR reports for marketing lay-outs, the ObjectId@ token is populated and filled with a condition. But I can't find where in de Crystal Report. Not in the filter condition like the DocKey@ token.
    grz,
    Freek
