How to start another instance in oracle database 10g

Hi,
i have created another database on linux Enterprise Server 5 with SID name "rmann". after database is created the address is "http://linux:5500/em"
Now after that i run the address link it works fine. but when i restarted the computer run the address link http://linux:5500/em doen't run.
So how i can run the new address link

So how i can run the new address link You mean that after the restart of teh machine, EM doesn't work? Did you check that whether the service of the EM is running or not?
emctl status dbconsoleIf it shows that the EM is not running then you must start teh service using,
emctl start dbconsoleAnd also check that you are not using DHCP, in case of which EM would keep on crashing since the IP would be changed all the time. For this, you must ensure that you configured EM using a static IP only.

ORA-20001 is a user defined error. So you will have to find out where it comes from.

How to start my instance??!!!!!!!!

I installed Oracle 10g. Then I created an instance. After the instance was created, I went to OEM to look at the instance, and noticed it wasn't turned on. I went to the network folder and noticed I only had sqlnet.ora; no Listener.ora or tsnames.ora. I put the files there, but when I try to startup the instance, the password and usernames I created with the database don't work.

Also please note that there are several versions of Vista, and the Oracle db is not certified for all of them, but only for specific versions.

How to install Oracle software remotely?
Remote Software Installation Steps: (For Solaris only)
If you want to install Oracle Software remotely, you should perform the following steps. These steps are applicable only if your source and target machine are running Unix.
For example, you can install Oracle Software from your home from Washington, DC to a target source in California.
1. Pick your source server or machine for remote installation.
2. Check that your CD is in your source CD-ROM drive.
3. On the target machine, find your target machine name with the output of the /usr/bin/hostname
4. On the source machine, login as a user.
5. On the source machine, enable client access: % /usr/openwin/bin/xhost + target-machine-name
6. Become root user by typing: su (dont use -)
7. Check that Volume Manger is running. # ps ef |grep vold (if you see an entry that contains /usr/sbin/vold, Volume Manager is running. Then skip to Step 10.
8. If not then do the following: # mkdir p /cdrom/your-cd-file-name
9. # mount F hsfs r cdrom-device /cdrom/your-cd-file-name
10. Add the following line to your /etc/dfs/dfstab file: # share F nfs o ro /cdrom/your-cd-file-name
11. Verify whether your source machine is an NFS server: # ps ef | grep nfsd
12. If you see an entry that contains /use/lib/nfs/nfsd a 16, then nfsd is running and skip to Step 16.

14. If nfsd is not running, then start nfsd by typing: # /etc/init.d/nfs.server start

Hello all, I've this problem when I reboot my system and try to start EM console (because it's not working after each reboot until I restarted it):

IC605 on IC-Server:The only way to solve this that I found -at least for now- it's to stop the EM console, and then start it again.

Is it possible to convert .plx file to .pll file ?

It says: "•Wrapping is not a secure method for hiding passwords or table names.
Wrapping a PL/SQL unit prevents most users from examining the source code, but might not stop all of them."

I just want to know how to install Oracle Label Security in Oracle 10g Database EE.
I read in Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Installation and Basic Configuration that Label Security must be installed before installing Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
I have Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.1) on my Windows XP System, and I patch it to 10.1.0.3.

asktom.oracle.com has an excellent article on writing a PL/SQL procedure that dumps data to an Excel spreadsheet-- search for 'Excel' and it'll come up.
You can also use your favorite connection protocol (ODBC, OLE DB, etc) to connect from Excel to Oracle and pull the data out that way.
