Background encoding doesn't work

hello, I'm a macbook pro 15' user and I just got into burning dvds with iDVD.
What I've noticed is that it takes **** of a time to burn it because of the encoding.
So I searched the internet and realized I can encode in the background while I work on my project.
The problem is, my preference was already set for a background encoding, but apparently, iDVD wasn't doing it.
I tried deselecting and selecting the checkbox again in the preference settings, but no difference.
I just can't imagine burning another dvd again without encoding it beforehand, because last time it took me about 2hours or more.
The content of dvd was three .avi files, just in case it matters.
Please, help me.
p.s. the actual burning time didn't take long, but the encoding part took forever.

Even with the quality set to "Best performance" and background encoding on, iDVD still goes through the encoding process on assets imported into the project when I burn. The project info window tells me that background encoding of these assets is complete, so why should iDVD have to go through this process when burning (or creating a disk image)?
I realize that the menus aren't encoded in the background - so they will be encoded at burn time - but the movies that have been encoded in the background should be ready to go, right?
Why is iDVD going through the encoding process despite having "completed" it in the background? Or am I misunderstanding what iDVD is encoding in the background?
...I've only used iDVD on three computers: a power mac G5, Powerbook G4 Titanium, and MacBook Pro C2Duo, but I've always had this issue. Background encoding happens but never seems to be actually used.

How to start Flash Media Encoder 3.2 from Flex application with run time parameters?

I'm developing the application to stream High Quality video.While streming by default camera/microphone settings the qulaity of streaming is not upto my expected level.I want to stream through Flash Media Encoder.My aim is the user login to the application.Video/audio qulaity details are retrived from shared object stored in the client machine.The login user name only gathered at run time & it will be the streaming profile name to Encoder.Once the the Encoder started the outgoing video will be come into screen to client.Please guide me How to start Flash Media Encoder 3.2 from Flex application with run time parameters(User name as streaming name) without manually start the FME?

How would I replace just the (imported) movie portion without having to start over the entire iDVD project from scratch?

I've just added a new ending and want to burn the new version of my iDVD project. How would I replace just the (imported FCE) movie portion without having to start over the entire iDVD project from scratch?

In an attempt to help clarify:
The FCE 3.5 project I first wrote about had 10 chapters and was a mix of stills and transcoded DSLR video clips that measured 58 min in length. After FCE converted it to a Quicktime movie, it exported from FCE to iDVD 7 flawlessly until I was asked to make a last minute change.
My older software wasn't endowed with the ability to "detect modifications". However, Deleting Assets was successful and a revised version of the original video could substituted saving me from starting iDVD over from scratch (thanks to Old Toad). Luckily, the ugly iDVD BUG did not awaken during these procedures. Thanks Bengt W.

if you try to change all the plsql keywords to the same background color (that is not either white or black or blue) via the options panel in SQL Developer (Code Editor > PLSQL syntax colors), you will get the new background color in the worksheet only for the areas with plsql text, while the areas without any text will have the same background color as the base color scheme you started with. This means that there is no way to change the "general background" color via the options panel, but you have to use the same background color of one of the predefined color schemes.
This seems to me a bug, but probably it's not considered high priority, so it will not be fixed for the time being.
I would like to stress the fact that being able to change the color scheme of the development environment that you use every day about 8 hours a day can make quite a difference on your eyes at the end of the day.

First of all IT IS GREAT and I use it a lot I also used the CS4 version before!
But I have to report two issues about version CS5:
1. I bought the English version of the production premium CS5 but I have a German operating system (win7 64bit) all other adobe application are in English except Adobe Media Encoder it shows up in German language! Not a show stopper but should be fixed.
2. Recently I wanted to encode a video into an h264. I made some custom settings for that and the encoded video played very stuttered in Microsoft Media Player 12 (like 12fps instead of 25fps [settings were set correct in AME]) but fine in Quicktime and VLC Player (execpt for the gamma bug but that's an other story...)
I did a lot of testings and found the issue! Sometimes when you change a lot of the h264 settings (don't know when it happens exactly) Media Encoder seems to not set the fps correctly allthough AME shows 25fps in it's settings this setting is not encoded into the final file!
Quicktime and VLC seems not to care about the missing information but Windows Media Player gets confused.
It does not happens when using a preset in AME it only happens when changing a lot and using custom settings!
You can see the missing fps setting when right clicking the encoded file and choose properties (german:Eigenschaften) switch the tap to Details and there is no fps setting in the stuttering files but when encoded with a preset in AME there is the correct 25fps setting!
I have attached a screenshots to demonstrate it:
My workaround so far was to choose a preset with 25fps and close to my desired settings and change as few as possible - Fingers crosses and with a chance of 3/4 I was able to encode a working file containing the fps setting in it which plays perfect in Microsoft Media Player!
I hope you take a look into this issue because if you have a long file and you have to encode it again because it fails....... uiuiui

How to start a local HTML5-file automatically as a weblink?

Hi, i started to learn DPS two weeks ago and had a lot of fun. But yesterday i had a problem how to start a weblink autmaticially. The checkbox in the Overlay Creator panel for activating auto-start doesn't react by clinking on it. And the default is inactive. The other checkboxes in the panel also don't react. Could this problem be a InDesign-bug? The background, what i tried to do ...i inserted a local HTML5-File as a weblinki t's shown on my iPad after synchronizing. But i have to tap on it for showing the HTML-content - but i want to start it automatically.

Hint: Starting InDesign with shortcut for deleting the preferences --> "shift + alt + cmd + ctrl"

New in BI, any suggest how to start?

New in SAP world. Need suggestion on how to start to learn SAP business Intelligence.
My background is oracle E-Business developer. For reporting purpose, I am using Oracle discoverer, Oracle Report and BI publisher. My manager wants me find some class to learn the SAP Business Intelligence.
Question :
1) Any suggestion What class should I take?
2) In SAP, what is Business Intelligence? Is that a reporting tool? What is the role for developer in BI? Does the developer build the basic report and then user can further manipulate the final "look" of the report?
2) I found the SAP certification for SAP Business Objects BI. It suggests to take Crystal reports too. What is the relationship between Crystal report and BI in SAP world?
Any advice is welcome!

SAP BI has many areas to master. You need to decide if you want to focus on the front-end or back-end.
For front-end, you will specialize in Business Objects Business Intelligence and learn the reporting toolset. You will need to develop skills for gathering reporting requirements, and visualizing data graphically or in tabular format.
For back-end, you will specialize in designing data warehouses in SAP BW or SAP HANA. You will need to develop skills for data modeling and ABAP programming.
For certification, go to the SAP Education site and look at the recommended courses. I also recommend the SAP PRESS certification guides (eg. BI 7.0) to help study for the exam. You can also find lots of training videos and free content online thru SAP.

Just though of sharing the alternate way to do this work, instead of DELETE use CHANGE option.
1. Execute transaction SM37 for the program "RMMRP000" and Job name what you have specified with job status "Scheduled" check box activated. Job Overivew screen appears
2. Now select the job in the Job Overivew screen and use Menu bar: Job--->Change or Ctrl+F11. Change Job Screen appears
3. In the change Job screen Hit the function button Start Condition (Green Flag). Start time screen appears.
4. In the Start time screen define your Job schedule and save the time parameters and save change job screen. Now your job is scheduled with new parameters what you have entered.

Background encoding question

Still trying to figure out why I'm suddenly not able to burn an 8.5 minute movie after 14 hours of waiting........then I noticed that when I select certain themes, I get a status bar for both the movie & the theme in the background encoding section of the status panel (for example, Montage theme). On other themes, I only get a status bar for the movie (and not the theme). I thought I always had 2 bars. Could this somehow be keeping me from getting out of Stage 4? Years ago I downloaded Ola's patch, and things ran well from that point on. Is there a new patch I need to download or something?

a 450MHz G4 would take about 20-30 hour per hour of movie to encode
for iDVD.
49Gb free is OK (I try not to go under 25Gb)

Cannot start background process DTPR_13362_

Hi ,
Whenever DTP is executed in the Dev Server,it throws an error.
Error msg: Cannot start background process DTPR_13362_1 26.09.2011 14:17:44 1 Min. 50 Sec.
while checking the message in the monitor screen the cursor is at this function.
CALL METHOD cl_rsbm_log_step=>raise_step_failed_callstack
Please let me know what needs to be done here so that DTP processed sucessfully.

Check how many parallel processes are defined for this DTP.
display the DTP in RSA --> in menu bar click on "goto" --> "settings for batch manager"
In the next screen you will get the number of processes assigned to this DTP.
When you are running this DTP, check these many background processes are available in your system.
If you want you can decrease this number9by default it will be 3)
