How to start Enterprise Security Manager in 11g

Hi All,
How to start Enterprise Security Manger in 11g ? Should Grid Control be installed seperately ? There is no menu or utility that represent Enterprise Security Manager in 11g ? In 10g there is a menu item called "Enterprise Security Manager" , how to access it in 11g ?

my doubt is ,, just simply giving the above command the listener create and start or do i need to modify any other parameters which i have to copy from old listener file.The former. Unless you need/want to use non-standard parameters, you don't need anything else. Just start it.

Oracle Enterprise Security Manager

Hi!
I have some problems with installing the Oracle Aplication Server Infrastructure 10g. I need to configure the Oracle Internet Directory. For this i did following steps:
1) Install the Oracle Aplication Server Infrastructure 10g, which include the OID
2) For the aplication server database configure a Oracle Context through the Net Configuration Assistant
3) Configure the database for using OID
4) Create user in the database that identified globally
After that i need to configure a Enterprise User in OID. For this i need Oracle Enterprise Security Manager. But ESM isn't installed with the Oracle Aplication Server.
What application includes Oracle Enterprise Security Manager?

What's version are you using?
Data Guard is very mature feature of Oracle 10g, since it first appeared in Oracle 8i in the form of Standby server.
Whatever bugs he experienced, he should work with Oracle support to fix it. It could be known bugs that already has a fix, it could be he didn't use the feature correctly and assume it's a bug, it could be a real undocumented bug.
Using his own stored procedure to monitor data guard like reinventing the wheel. Actually it's worse, what on earth is he thinking that he could out smart whole Data Guard team of Oracle :D

You can start OEM as:
go to ORACLE_HOME/bin directory.
then type ./oemapp with any 1 of its 6 options.
You can type just ./oemapp and it will show the available options like instance etc.

From the Unix prompt enter oemapp console(for v9.x). If you are using earlier versions it is oemapp console (for starting the console) and oemapp dbastudio(for starting dba studio)
For starting OMS enter: oemctrl start oms.

How to start virtual OVM Manager and restore server pool which hosts it?

It had to happen... the day I migrate our OVM Manager from an ESX host into an Oracle VM, we have a massive NetApp outage, and everything fails to come back. As a result of having lock errors when trying to start any VMs I noted on the forum various solutions and ended up following the steps concerning stopping ovs-agent and removal of /etc/ovs-agent/db/* on all the servers. Next I re-added the repo to all the servers using repos.py, but of course now none of the servers are in a pool so the --list command shows them as [R] rather than [*], and the /OVS directory is not yet mapped. So the next stage, according to the instructions which I am following, describes using the 'Restore' option in the OVM Manager GUI. Given that /OVS is not mounted and all of the servers are now config-less, I can't see how I can start the OVM Manager VM to get to the aforementioned "restore" option...
Thank Jeebus I kept the ESX copy of OVM manager on (but powered down), as I was able to fire it up and do the restore, and now everything is hunky dory. However, this is our Dev platform and I was going to build the Prod platform and deploy OVM Manager straight into the OVM architecture via the template, rather than having it on ESX, but this issue on the Dev install has made me think twice about the mobius nature of managing the VM architecture from within the VM architecture...
I am assuming I am missing some sort of commandline knowledge, so... given:
- empty db directory
- root repos [R] on all servers
- as yet unmapped /OVS
...how to get the server pool up and get something back into /OVS, and then start my OVM Manager VM so I can 'restore'? Is it even possible? because if it isn't, I'll be blowed if the Prod OVM manager is going to get deployed like this...
And no, there's no money in the budget for extra tin just to sit there running the OVM Manager and nothing else.

EIM/WIM: How to install MeadCo Security Manager?

Hi,
While logging into an EIM/WIM agent console an agent does not get the following message:
This site might require the following ActiveX control: 'MeadCo's Security Manager from ... Click here to install...'
As a result we cannot use the two-way cobrowsing feature of EIM/WIM.
Please note we set cobrowsing attributes in the department and partition settings accordingly to allow that feature and in IE7 as well.
What is wrong? How do we launch cobrowsing?

This was available with 4.2.x and could be used with 4.3 early release, but CoBrowse is not included in the 4.3 product set from Cisco. CoBrowse is a difficult problem because of dynamic content management and all the rules and security settings required, and by understanding is that Cisco did not think it was ready. My understanding is that it will be added later, along with pro-active chat etc.Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing .... what is it you wish to do? How to CIF enterprise Change Management ECM, from ECC to APO

Dear All.
I am facing problems during CIF process for ECM (Enterprise Change Management) from ECC to APO.
Every change into Material Master, BOM, etc, we must to create one Change Number (CC01) and link with the master data that we are changing.
But when we are changing the BOM status to 02 - Inactive for a specific period, and then transport this information from ECC to APO using Core Interface, into APO the BOM, in this case PPDS, will be changed for the Whole Period. It means that the PPDS will be set as Inactive into APO being set to become inactive in the future on ECC.

How to activate Enterprise Compensation Management

I am trying to activate ECM . I am on ECC5.0 on support pack
SAP_HR 500 0028 SAPKE50028 Human Resources HR Support Package
I activated table T77S0 and the entry HRECM ECMO abd put the value X . But i still not see the ECm activated in IMG.
What extra needs to be done.

Did you activate ECM in IMG? ie Activate Enterprise Compensation Management under the section Global Settings of the IMG ( SPRO) .

OPM, oracle policy manager, is installed with the old enterprise manager.
OPM is to manage VPD, virtuell private database and label security.
Label Security is an extra Option.

How many users can be managed by 11g running on a MS-Windows?

we actually run our application (Oracle App server 10 g with forms and reports) in a HPUX-environment.
Now we have to upgrade to 11g and to move to another server. The new operating-system will be Solaris or Windows. The Solaris-solution is obviously without risk. But there are some advantages for a windows-server (special corporate fonts, printer directories etc) and so we are thinking about this, too.
How is your experience with 60-100 simultaneous forms-users? Is it possible at all?
(Windows 64 bit, Weblogic 11g with forms and reports)

If you have metalink access read note 187455.1. There is a problem with desktop heap in ms windows; it applies to 10gR2 on windows 2000 / 2003 when you run ~50-80 concurrent forms sessions. This might also apply to 11g / server 2008.
Basically the problem is related to this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/126962/ and the solution is to increase the desktop heap.
We have no 11g system in production right now, so I cannot tell you if it definitely applies to 11g; but as this problem is caused by windows and not by forms itself there might be a possibility that you run into this problem on 11g too (the metalink note is quite vague on that and says it may reproduce on 11g).
As far as I understood you want to switch to windows basically because of reports. If you are not afraid of an additional administration effort (plus the licenses) an option could be to run all your forms sessions on slowaris and run your reports on another server running winbooze ;-).
