i use forms 5.0 on Windows NT for the web. i want to start forms
server listenner automatic same as WWW listener. because i must
logon on Windows NT before start forms server listener.

Product you are looking for is called svrany.exe
and comes with tge nt3.51 resource pack which can be used
with nt4.0. I have used it and it works fine.

Hi,
i have installed oracle9iAS 1.0.2.0.0 on redhat 7.1 successfully
with out any error but when I start forms server it gives error
like: failed to exec runform f60webm [error:2]
WHen I look in make.log file it shows errorr like
gcc: /usr/xllR6/lib/libXm.so :no such file or directory
make: *** [rwrun60] error 1
this error are at various places in make.log file
when I look for libXm.so in that directory it was not there.
can I download this file from some where???
pls give any solution for it as I'm unable to run my forms
through web

I think that this is an x-windows library that you are missing.
You need to get and install the x-windows rpm and that will have
the file. Have a look for the file name using google and I'm
sure you'll find the name of the package.

Here the actual Logon Pad file would be stored with name "SAPLOGON" or "SAPLGPAD".
Create another shortcut for above file on your desktop.

You can start Managed server in admin console ->servers
or you can start the managed servers in Independent mode(without admin server)
by using the startManagedWebLogic.cmd/>startManagedWebLogic.sh (this requires weblogic authentication).

2) Make sure that all weblogic Managed Servers related to OIM (port 14000) and OID 11g LDAP Port 3060, LDAPS Port 3131, wls_ods1 (DIP & ODSM) is running on 7005 and WebLogic Admin Server is running on Port 7001.
3) Check whether all the OID Services are running by following commands
a. export ORACLE_INSTANCE=/u01/app/oracle/admin/oid1_inst
b. $ORACLE_INSTANCE/bin/opmnctl status

When I load Forms5.0 with Forms Server Listener on Windows 2000,
then it gives an error message that Webforms being loaded is
compatible with WinNT4.0. If there is any solution or workaround

There is no workaround, the listener checks for the version of
the O/S being run for a specific reason.
We do not currently support running ODS on W2000.

1.You must now log on to the Integration server host with the user XISUPER, to switch the initial password to a valid password.
2.You must restart the J2EE engine to transfer the user creation to the J2EE immediately.
I am unable to proceed here.Can you please help me to resume the post installation steps ?

How to start Forms or Reports 11gR2?

Pardon me for the newbie question, but I haven't got any clues on how to run forms builder and reports builder 11gr2 on linux (centos 5.8).
installed it fine, but then now I can't start the damned thing.
Tried looking through the install guide and it doesn't seem to have a section on "how to use forms builder". Don't see a user's guide either.
it's driving me crazy. i would have thought it would be easier to find simple information like this but clearly it eludes me.
which manual should I be looking at, if there's any?

First run this command in a terminal to start Weblogic Server:
MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/<domain-name>/bin/startWebLogic.shThen run this command in a second terminal to set environment variables to use the nodemanager:
WL_HOME/server/bin/setWLSENv.sh
In the same second terminal Start nodemanager with this:
WL_HOME/server/bin/startNodeManager.shNow open the Administration Console in a navigator and get login, point your url to: http://localhost:7001/consoleNow start WLS_FORMS and WLS_REPORTS managed servers from the Administration Console, it's very important that you have started nodemanager, otherwise you will not be able to start both services.

did you try logging in as admin and then checking the services active in Windows ? ( Stat - Accssories - Administrative tools - Services ) or something like that...
There you can find all the services like IIS etc which are wither running or have been stopped.
try right clicking on your service and starting the same.
Also check the event lo in the server to find out if it was stoped manually or it failed due to some reason.

How to start the SCAN listener on new 11Gr2 install?

Ok...starting dbca on first RAC install on the new 11Gr2 cluster.
I was about to proceed from screen 3 to 4...and it comes up with an error saying the SCAN listener hasn't been started.
I started what I thought was the listener with lsrnctl start...but apparently that isn't enough.
What do I do to start the SCAN listener? I'm still a bit hazy on what this is for.....

I found this document that had some srvctl instructions:

So, if I understand this correctly, to get scan and scan listener to autostart on boot I do something like this?
If my SCAN name is database-scan
I'd need to do srvctl add scan -n database-scan ?
For the scan listener, from the instructions it sounds like I can name it anything I want...is that correct...?
So I could do something like
srvctl add scan_listener -l fred ?

Cannot start Forms Server on new install

Hi:
I am running Oracle 10g database release 10.1.0.5.0 (database running fine)
I have installed from CD the Oralce Application Server - Forms and Reports Server Version 10.1.2.0.2
The processes appear to be running fine.
When I logon to AS Enterprise Manager, it shows "Forms" as being unavailable and the Home page shows a status of Down.
From my browers I can run ...llocalhost:7777/forms/frmservlet?config=jiptest&from=jiptest
How can I start the Forms Server? Where can I find the error log?
Please help.

Let me just ask you one other thing. I have a form app that runs fine on a different host. Now, I have a new host and a new database (same DB user and objects). When I try to launch the forms app, the scrren is blank but the status line show that that applet started.
Must a recompile the app against the new database on the host or is there a way that I can debug why it is not opening correctly?

what does the database have to do with starting Forms and Reports ? If you are on Wondows2000 then navigate to the \bin directory if the Oracle Home you installed Oracle9iDS to. Type ifbld90 for Forms and rwbuilder for Reports design environment.
If your ability to start Forms and Reports from the command line is your only exit criteria in evaluating software for a project , how far will you go with it?

I regularly login to Hyperion server and start admin server for weblogic then using url for console I check status of all service.
start>Programs> Oracle Weblogic>user projects>EPM System> start Admin server for Weblogic
but when i logout from Hyperion server admin server for weblogic automatically logout. Please suggest which services i can put automatically in windows services (services.msc) so that i need not to start manually.

Steveif you do a "chown -Rh myuser:mygrp <WLS_Inst_dir> and use a Port above 1024
as Server Listen Port, it should work with another user.
I haven't tried in WLS 7 but with WLS 6.x it works fine.
