How to start GUI for VM?

Hi All,
I have OVM 2.2.1 installed on server. On top of that I have created one VM using VM-template OEL5.5. This is done successfully. Now I want to install ORACLE 11g on this VM.
For that I run "vncserver" command on this VM (console and command prompt) which gives vnc port number also but when try to login through vncviewer it's not connected.
Is there any way to start GUI for this installed vm?

Earlier I was using OVM Server version 2.2.0 and now in my new setup I am using OVM Server version 2.2.1. By mistake I had delete the ovs-agent-2.3 directory in my new setup (2.2.1) from /opt and my all VM getting crashed because at VM startup it looks for this ovs-agent in /opt directory.
Now, I had copied the ovs-agent-2.3 from earlier version i.e. 2.2.0 to 2.2.1. And it works. All VMs are up and running.
So I just want to make it confirm that there is no change in ovs-agent version between 2.2.0 and 2.2.1. Can you please update me?

This vm template having built in OS- OEL 5(oracle enterprise linux) update 2 and database 10g R2 with patchset 3 i.e. 10.2.0.4. I just unzip this tempalte file and OS with DB upto 10.2.0.4 is available for me.
Now on this VM I want to create one more database but I am not able to enable GUI.
I have already stopped firewall service. But not able to find how to start GUI. This VM dont have vncserver also.
Also I dont find any "/xdm/Xaccess " in /etc/X11., also not the /gdm in /etc.
Can any one having any idea how to?

How to start GUI in SOLARIS

I recently installed SOLARIS 10 and it logged me IN automatically as "root". I wanna know how to start the GUI shell. Ma sys is P-4 3.2 with 512 DDR 266 RAM
The steps that show up are
grub loading stage2...

2)solaris fail (something like that-can't remmember)

Pressed ENTER on1 and licence screen showed up.

PS: I made the following choices during installation.
* opted for NON-NETWORKED

I am learning SAP / ABAP with NetWeaver trial
is it possible to develop applications without using the GUI?
In Microsoft-land I usually build whole system just by typing (TSQL or CSharp etc.) ... it is more time efficient and precise

I think what I am looking for is just an ABAP report
that creates ABAP Dictionary objects using function modules such as DDIF_*
I am not happy using GUI for development as it doesn't allow you to:
- capture your effort
- apply global changes quickly
- copy and paste code fragments
now I have to find out how to quickly try a design and then rollback
when sketching schemas in TSQL I do this:
restore database WIP from disk = 'WIP.bak'
go
create tables ...
create views ...
create procs ...
insert initial data ...
insert test data ...
and this lets me quickly iterate a high quality design
the same process is just not going to work using a GUI
as it takes hours and hours of clicking with a mouse !
I suppose there is no equivalent of DDL in OpenSQL for Dictionary objects ?

If you are in India, please contact SAP Education. They have separate evaluation process, without training you cannot attend unless you have trained with SAP / Authorised Training Center.
Please go through the blogs in Certification / Career space.
Please visit
training.sap.com
Here for each certification exam, you can see the syllabus.
You only need to study what is required for that exam, not the whole SAP basis.

I want to use RMAN backup for my 10gXE database so I need to start archivelog.
I do the following:
SQL> shutdown immediate;
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.
SQL> startup mount
ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 805306368 bytes
Fixed Size                  1261444 bytes
Variable Size             234881148 bytes
Database Buffers          566231040 bytes
Redo Buffers                2932736 bytes
Database mounted.
SQL> archive log start;
Statement processed.
SQL> archive log list
Database log mode              No Archive Mode
Automatic archival             Disabled

But I am not able to find a clear learning path for this. If you need a career change you can definitely become a SAP Mobility Consultant.
You need to talk to any of the SAP mobility consultant to get some idea on how the apps are developed or attend training provided by SAP.
Sybase Unwired Platform is the key in SAP mobility (Where business logic will be written). To become an SUP developer there is no need of any particular programming language.
My suggestion to you is learn SUP development and Android development (Since you know JAVA).

I've managed to open a file using the file dialog.
I'm trying to noe perform an action with this file. I have a class called Data which reads in a file and reads each line of the file into a vector. so i have a vector of vectors at the end where the inner vectors are the lines of the file.
I'm unsure of how to call this class using the selected file.
ultimately this is the kind of thing i'm going to need to do through out.
i have created an instance of the class Data and trie to call the method using the file but getting the following error:

     I need SAP GUI for Mac. Also please explain the process of how to install, how to configure etc? Please help me.

You can download the SAP Presentation DVD that will have the SAPGUI Java version for OS X. After you install, just run the app from the Application Folder.
For config there are a few options:
1. To connect to a DI directly. After starting the app, click new and under the "Advanced" tab use the following string:
   conn=/H/(hostname)/S/(port / 3200 for instance ID 00)
2. To connect to a login group. After starting the app, open the "Preferences" / Configuration / Messageservers, you need to set a path to a file that has the message servers in the following string
(SID) :     /M/(hostname)/S/(message server port)
Then click "New" and on the first tab you can choose a system and login group.
