How to start over with a new itunes account on an old computer

my daughter transferred all her music from my computer, where she had her itunes account, to her new computer and then went off to college. i can finally use itunes for my own music. how do i get rid of her millions of tunes and change the account info from her to me on what used to be a shared computer and is now all mine?
i tried many times to set up a new itunes account but get caught in a vicious loop. i also believe her massive volume of tunes has made my computer sluggish and hope wiping the itunes slate clean will improve processing speed.

Create a new user account on the computer. That is the freshest way. Make sure you designate it as an administrator.
As for her old music/account, if you are 100% sure you no longer need it, you can delete the entire account from the "System Preferences -> Accounts" control panel. Log in using an existing or new Administrative account, to do this. It will provide an option to save the Home folder and the users settings/files. If you are indeed having space issues, and again you are 100% positive she will no longer need anything she had there, you can choose to delete.

No access to PC with my itunes library - how to start over with a new PC

First time user, so any help is appreciated. I have an extensive library on my 4th gen nano but since my last sync to my PC I left my job so I cannot access my library anymore. Is there any way to use my Ipod to download my library to my new pc and then use the new PC as the holder of the library going forward? the library consists of only CDs (no itunes purchases).
At this point I assume that I have to reset the ipod, and start all over by creating a new libary on the new pc by copying each cd one at a time. I am hoping someone experienced here knows of a shortcut.

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. 3). Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you only want to copy your purchases to the computer that can be done using iTunes, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. 4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

No, it tells you it can only be sync'd with one iTunes library.
Simplest way is to copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (thisis the iTunes library) from old computer to new computer.

The iphone is not a backup/storage device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a abckup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Copy the entire iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer to move iTunes content.
As for pictures, copy them from where there are on the old computer to the new computer... this has nothing to do with iTunes.
Alternatively, if both computers are Windows based, use the Windows Easy File Transfer Utility to move everything.

plug your ipad to your computer, open your itunes, click on the ipad icon, at the first page there is an option to "restore" ipad to its factory settings, click it. Don't remove USB connection, wait until it finishes wiping the data and it should place a new window that asks you to register the ipad.
There you go, your iPad is sync with your itunes account under your name, its best to also use "Find my iPad" just in case it gets lost, you can track it from your computer. Very handy tool and its free!
But if you want the data that is in the iPad, back up it first and sync the content to your library before restoring it to its factory settings

1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

Changing devices is no reason to create a new Apple ID.
All content purchased from iTunes is permanently linked to the Apple ID it was purchased with.
To update apps purchased with the old ID, you MUST sign in with that Apple ID.
