How to stay logged in to ebay

I can't stay logged in to ebay while using safari 5.05. Same problem with previous versions of safari. Move away from the ebay page and you have to log in again.

Hi Richard
If you haven't already - remove all ebay cookies via Safari-Preferences-Security-Show Cookies; using the filter to reveal just ebay ones.
After that - ebay will still occasionally think you need to log in, sometimes from intentional security efforts, and sometimes mid-listing due a problem with their site & safari (I've never found a good way out of that, although often opening a new tab/window  shows me still logged in & able to do most things, including sometimes) saving a draft.
If you still find yourself logged out every time, there must be something else amiss - start by testing briefly in a New User Account

  • How to stay logged in to Apple Communities?

    Hi all
I am quite new to the communities/forums.  I am having to log in pretty much every time I re-visit, and I can see no "stay logged in" type option.  Is there a way to stay logged in, or must I go through that at the start of every visit?
    Cheers

Will the prior posters are technically correct, they didn't provide the whole story. Here what I do.  Leave a browser running.  Have one window devoted to apple login.  Run a reload manager in that window.  Here are the full details + other stuff.
Here is my ASC work flow...
    1) I login.
    2) Block the automatic 30 minute logout.
Unless you do something every thirty minutes you get logged out.  The forum software waits to tell you this as long as it can to keep you in suspense  ;-) .
            Start an auto reloader.
    I use Firefox and ReloadEvery.
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/reloadevery/
You need to pick a page that will reload over time without stalling out. It's ASC.  I've found my profile display the best to use. I get my Profile page after some  logins.  It's ASC.  Change rccharles to your apple id.
    https://discussions.apple.com/people/rccharles?view=discussions
    Reply technique
Open a new browser window.  Pick some discussion.  Open a reply window.  As long as this reply window is open, you will stay logged in.  The 30 minute times is reset as needed by the ASC software.
    3) I open another window to do my normal ASC browsing.
    4) I have a FireFox bookmark to goto the discussions that I have participated in. I've modified it to add on the content stuff.
turingtest2 recommends. Change rccharles to your apple id:
    https://discussions.apple.com/people/rccharles/content?filterID=participated~obj ecttype~objecttype%5Bthread%5D
    5) Use turingtest2's generated links with the /content suffix as browser bookmark to the ASC discussions:
Site map of Communities and Categories
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2463
    6) Adjust the ASC web page layout.
I run with Hiroto's modification to user content.  This is the only way these forums are readable for me.  How to adjust the format and layout of ASC Web Pages:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7501
    7) Read and answer my old posts.  I kind of memorize the time I last posted. ( It's way bad that apple eliminated the last poster to a thread. )
    8) I use tabbed browsering.  From a list of discussions, hold down the command key then click on the link. You get two tabs this way. The original window will keep where you have been.

  • How to stay logged in on this site?

I log in and navigate around, comment on posts and etc. but I keep having to log back in too much. Is there a way to stay logged in while I'm on the site?

You are using the iPhone to access the forums. However when you do this you will be kicked out after a certain time.
This happens to me often when I reply from the web portal forum pages. I just hit log in again and enter my login and password.
There is no stay alive feature on the iPhone or mobile safari so just use a PC or a tablet like I often do. It then stays active until I choose to log out.
    Good Luck

This has been a continuing "issue" with these forums.  I'm not sure what the official design point is.  Do you stay logged in or get forceable logged out.  It has varied overtime.
You do stay logged in under these situations:
-- It depends on what browser you are using.
-- Try firefox.  Works for me.
    -- Enabled cookies.
-- could be what is in your cookies.  Clean out what is related to these forums to get a fresh start.
-- you need to have an active web page to one of the forums.  It can be minimized. You seem to get logged out when you have no pages.
--- Even with all this, I get logged out about one a week.
Any interaction with the server for the forum software will reset the logout clock.
    Firefox:
"Reloads web pages every so many seconds or minutes. The function is accessible via the context menu (menu you get when you right click on a web page) or via tab context menu (just in Firefox 4.0)"

"Tab Mix Plus enhances Firefox's tab browsing capabilities. It includes such features as duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more. It also includes a full-featured session manager."

  • Java enabled? also staying logged in?

im trying to access this website.
    www.gopednation.com
now it says i must have java enabled to view the site, which i do. it always worked before.
    whats going on?
also how come staying logged in seems a bit hit and miss. sometimes sites will leave me logged in for days. sometimes i get logged out after a few minutes. this apple discussion forum is a culprit, and every time i log in it goes to an apple error page. you would think the apple page would work with apples!!

Works fine for me - not that this helps, just confirmation that it works!
Not a Java problem I think, but a Flash one.
Try re-installing the latest version of Flash from:
    http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/
Make sure you have or get the proper version, which is 9.0.47.0

  • How can i stay logged in on iPhone Skype after i delete the app from the 'current' apps?

How can i stay logged in on iPhone Skype after i delete the app from the 'current' apps?
    Thanks for ur answers !

You are correct. There is no other way to recover this material, and yes it would have been a good idea to backup the iPhone prior to the restore. Remember that a restore to a previous date deletes everything on the device and puts it back to the state of things on the date you choose. The texts and contacts would be gone. Did you possibly sync the contacts with a supported application on the computer? That is the only other way to recover contacts. They are designed to be synced with a supported application on the computer, or with a cloud service such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo.

  • How do I stay logged into my service provider home page.

I have an ATT Account and use the classic home page with the Firefox Browser. I want to stay logged in for at least 2 weeks or more, but each time I enter the Firefox browser, it requires me to re-insert my full ID and Password. How do I change this so I will remain signed in for a period of at least two weeks before having to enter the email ID and password again. I've added an exception for this site in the Tools section and it still doesn't work.

My sign in box no longer has the 2 week check box, how do I get it back?

  • Safari will not stay logged into Facebook/Pinterest/Fitocracy/etc. after Mavericks upgrade. How to fix?

After upgrading to Mavericks, Safari now will not stay logged into any site that requires a username/password, such as Facebook, Pinterest, Fitocracy, etc.  I can log in and browse for a minute or so, then all of a sudden it is as if I am not logged in.  As an example, Facebook will require me to log in again, remember browser, and then I get the security warning email since I have that feature activated with Facebook.  It is as if Safari completely forgets everything.  I believe it has to do with the new iCloud username/password sync function...  How does this get fixed?

    Try deleting the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
    Quit and relaunch Safari.
If you still have problems, try troubleshooting Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. I
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

  • How Do i Stay Logged in After Quiting Browser

is there anyway to stay logged in, i'm tired of typing in password every time i quit browser
    thanks

The Apple discussion boards are designed this way. They do not retain a login after a browser quits. It's not a bug, it's not a flaw, it's not a limitation. It's how the forums were set up for whatever reason the owners decided. Some web sites use cookies to automatically log the user in upon returning. Not so here.

I'm using Firefox 26 and have ensured that I have unchecked "Clear History when Firefox closes " which means that I stay logged in to some sites that I use several times a day but my Bt Home page and BT Mail requires me to log in every time I go to the site. • How do I stay logged in so I don't have to log in upon waking the computer?

How do I stay logged in so I don't have to log in upon waking the computer?  My login options are set up the same as on my old computer (iMac G5, OS 10.5.8), and I never had to log back in after the monitor or computer went to sleep.  I don't want to have to log in every time the computer wakes.

Thanks, Joe.  I do have Auto Login activated but was still getting the login screen.  I found the problem, though--it was a setting in Security and Privacy within Sys. Prefs.  So, now I'm all set!  Thanks again!

  • HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD ON THIS FORUM?  HOW DO I STAY LOGGED IN?

    Come on, Verizon....it's 2011!
I've looked high and low on this forum, ran searches, read old posts, and yet it seems there is no way to change your password to this forum other than "forgetting" your old password. (and some people have had problems with that method since their computer remembers the old one).
Another thing:  Why do I have to sign in EVERY TIME I come to this forum.  Most of the twelve billion other forums on the web allow you the option to stay signed-in if I like.  Not this one.  It's a real PITB.  And ridiculous for such a 'high-tech' organization.
If I'm wrong, please tell me.  I'd love to hear it!

The reps are on here, but I do know it seems they may get to your message a couple days later. So I through out an option
Yep -and that's purposely.  Budone, remember when the reps first started posting on here - we all "complained" that they were taking issues to PM with users, so no one was getting answers except the original poster.  It seem sI read that the reps now wait several days before jumping in to the discussion to give the "community" a chance to respond first.  If no response, or incorrect responses are happening, then an official rep will join in.  Sometimes they'll even chime in to confirm a correct answer....
But to the OP, it is primarily customers helping other customers, and if someone can help, they will.
Like budone said, what you are asking about is more a function of the Lithium forum software than Verizon per se; I'm sure there are options in the backend but it means someone has to know how to customize the backend...    As far as changing the password, yes, it does seem kind of backwards to have to say you forgot it just to change it....but that's how it goes.  At one point I found it necessary to change mine and that was the only way I could get it done.
The time out happens after several hours; it works well enough for me to stay logged in most of the day; and I just log back in each morning.  Not a big deal.
