Best way I can think of is to know the dimensions of the two photos, start a PS Touch project that's roughly the additive width of those two photos (e.g. If both photos are about 1000 pixels across, start with a project of about 2000 pixels wide or more), then place each photo on its own layer using the "add image" button (2nd icon from the upper left).
Use the "transform" icon (5th icon from the upper right) to change a layer's size, position, etc. Adjust one layer's transparency while you place them together. Put it back to 100% opacity when done.
When making a panorama, remember to have an overlapping point (usually about 20 to 30%) between the two photos. This makes it easier to stitch.

I'm an intermediate Photoshop user and this is my first post. I'm hoping to get some advice from an advanced user to achieve the following:
1) I have two seperate images...one of a scenic background and another of a person's face. I want to place the image of the person's face on top of the scenic background and blend them together so the person's face looks like a soft silhouette on the scenic background. I want to do this in an 'artful' way where the two images blend together with real chemistry. I tried using "overlay" mode on the facial image and fiddling with its layer opacity (which I thought would work) but the results look very contrived to me. Anyone know how to do this ?

Thank you John for the quick reply. I actually excerpted the facial image fairly well and I did use a feathered edge as well as a layer style called "Outer Glow". Both of these techniques helped. I'm just looking a way for these two images to have real chemistry together. I am designing a series of sympathy cards for a memorial service and I'm looking to marry these two images together in an artful way. Are there any 3rd party filters that combine photos together in a collage like this ? Although my collage is very simple (just two images). I have attached one sample background image here if you'd like to see what it looks like. I have the image of the Woman's face already cut out on a transparent background in a .psd file. I can't seem to post a PSD file here in the forum. So, I uploaded it to a website where it can be downloaded from the following location:

For an online project, I need to take two photos and put them together with a line down the middle to separate them. It's two people and we have two separate photos but we want to use them in one photo space, if that makes sense. How do I create one photo out of two and separate the pictures in the middle with a vertical line? Thank you for your help.

That would depend on what your level of expertise is. Most can be run in demo mode so you can try them and see which works best for you. If you intend to get into a lot of editing I suggest you try Photoshop Elements 9 for Mac. It can do some very sophisticated editing like this and this.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
NOTE: this is not the same as routinely backing up your entire iPhoto library folder to protect your photos. It only protects the loss of your organizational efforts that the database file contains.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

How to delete a photo from My Panoramas album

I just upgraded my iPad2 to iOS7. Seems like in the process the iOS7 created a new album for me: My Panoramas. Cute, but I don't want that album. If I have to have it, I would like to delete some of the photos in it that are not panoramas. When I select a photo in that album, a garbage can shows up but is grayed out. It's not obvious for me how to delete that photo. Please help.
BTW: That album (My Panoramas) does not show up in my iPhoto on my Mac, so I can't edit it there.

I'm with you on this. Rather like Windows 7, I am able to ignore the Panoramas Album but iPhoto puts my photos in that album for reasons unknown to me. And, as you say, the offending album doesn't appear on my MacBook Pro so I can't edit there.
Anyone know by what criteria iPhoto puts photos into the Panoramas album?

How to join two arrays together?

I have the following type
    type TVarcharArr is table of varchar(4000) index by binary_integer;I have a procedure that passes in two separate arrays as:
    p_account_number                 in TVarcharArr,
    p_product_system_code          in TVarcharArrThese arrays are related (they will have the same number of elements), the contents would be as follows:
    Account Number    Product System Code
    123                      ABC
    456                      DEF
    789                      GHII can use TABLE(CAST to turn each of these arrays into a table, but how do I join these two arrays together so that they become a single table with two columns? Or if I CAST them as TABLEs, how can I join these two tables together - is there some way of using the index to facilitate the join?

You are right, I do need to convert the arrays first to use TABLE(CAST, and I do have my concerns about the use of rownum.
Here's the test case I built to test what I'm doing, incorporating the rownum solution:

end;It does return the correct result - but can it be trusted to be consistent - does the rownum in an array suffer the same problems as the rownum from a regular select? I'm guessing it's too risky to find out.
In essence, I'm getting two arrays and I'm trying to join them together so that I can CAST them as a table. (And I know the real question is why isn't it just one array of records with two elements - but sometimes you have to work with what you're given)

How to merge two photos

I am new to photoshop cs4 extended, I previously had elements 6. I have two photos of dogs and want to merge them into one. How can I do that and keep the proportion of the dogs proper even though the photos are not proportionate? One photo closer up than other, but when I merge I want dog sizes to be proportionate. if you mean like the photo below it is done by
copying the photo of the dog on the left to the image of the dog on the right.
then selecting the layer with the dog on the left and giving it a transparency of 50% in the layers panel (so you can see what you are doing.)
then using the free transform tool and using the corner anchor points and holding the shift key while scaling the image until they look right to you.
then you either use the eraser tool to carefully erase the unwanted background on the top layer with the dog on the left (btw you have to reposition the dog on the left to actually be on the left after you scale the dog,) or you use the pen tool to create a ath defining the dogs outline and turn that into a selection and hit delete to remove the background.
the above requires skill and a little patience.
then you position the dog on the left, if you want you can place it on the right.
then once you are happy with the scale and position and removal of the background you can adjust the color and tonal quality using the Curves and
or Hue Saturation adjustments and perhaps the dodge and burn tools as well.
The way you sue the adjustments on just the dog on the left since it is on its own layer is to hold the command (control) key down while clicking on the layers icon in the layers panel which will only select what are active pixels on that layer.
Once you have it selected you can then select an adjustment to make which will be previewed and applied to only that selected area.
You have to select it for each adjustment you make that you want to only apply to that region.

The 'media' choice is the answer for your custom organization.
The organizer lets you organize by categories, subcategories and tags. That is a three levels hierarchy you can create freely.
You might need more than 3 levels, but that's not really a problem.
Hierarchies are handy when you know you'll have hundreds of tags to choose from. It's easier to select them from a list.
But you should think of two other ways other than hierarchies to achieve fine selections :
- Adding captions and notes, that enables quick text search in PSE11
- Combining tags in advanced search mode. You don't need hierarchies to search for a product type with a given material and a given creator introduced in a given year...

You didn't tell us very much about exactly what your wish to do here. From the information provided I would suggest making adjustment on one and then using lift and stamp to do the other photos. If that is not what you want please provide more details.

I am trying to combine two different photos next to each other (each 10 cm * 7.5 cm) in one of 10 cm * 15 cm and save it as a jpg file. Unfortunately when I do this in the print module (custom package) I get a file with a white border. I have set up page settings to 10*15 cm without border. How to link two keyevents together ?

I need to detect Shift + 1 and 1 separately, as these two will trigger different tasks. Normal keys like 1,a can be detected in KeyTyped function (KeyEvent.KEY TYPED) and Shift can be detected from keyPressed function (KeyEvent.KEYPRESSED).
But how can I link these two together ?
It is possible that user gives Shift + 1 and then gives 2.
But in my program how can I make out that this Shift is linked to 1 and not to 2 ?

If you search for my KeyboardCommands class, you'll see there is a way to map arbitrary character sequences (not just shift/control, etc) to an Action. This might be what you're looking for

why you need to merge both the lights in a column when there is no need to have thse lights in ur column you just have to use them in your write statement.
