How to stop Aperture starting up each time I connect iPod Touch?

For the life of me I can not find the option to change this setting... and I am sure I have seen it plenty of times when I didn't need it. Can anyone help.

I think you will find it in the preferences for iPhone where you have it set to open Aperture when a camera is detected.

From where. I don't think you can keep it mininmized when importing because if it runs into a duplicate it will present a warning window for you to make a decision in. Therefore, it will always be open when importing.

And, if you want Aperture to launch when you connect your camera, but not when you connect your iPhone, open Image Capture when your iPhone is connected, highlight your iPhone in the sidebar, and select the No Application option in the lower left-hand corner where it says "connecting this iPhone opens"
You can have different options for each device.

Just installed latest Itunes, and system now grinds to a halt, caused by apsdaemon.exe and apple mobile using 99% processing. Have stopped these processes, but each time I start Itunes I have to do it all over again, any help would be appreciated

Having just installed the latest iTunes update, I find my system grinds to a complete standstill. I've checked and found two apple processes, apsdaemon.exe and applemobiledeviceservice.exe use 90% plus of my processor, so have stopped these. However, each time I start iTunes the same situation occurs. Is there anyway I can remove these exes from my system or is apple aware of this stupid update and what are they doing about it. Any guidance would be very much appreciated

What version of itunes were you using before you updates?

iTtune will require applemobiledeviceservices.exe and others to run. What you are experencing is usually caused by a conflict with other software on you system. Everybodys system is set up differently, so there is not a "one fix all". Most commonly associated with Firefox addons, video accelerator software, podcasts on the backup, anivirus software, parential control software, take you pick!

How to stop and start process SAPOSCOL

Hi, i have a problem with write access for saposcol program. I see that the file saposcol is read the file but its unable to wirte the same.

When i try to stop the saposcol i get the following error:

can't kill process 409656.

Am doing this command through SID<ADM> from change directory /run.
Please help me how to check the permission of the SIDADM to stop the services.
I also try the same from root user but now use..
Please guide me how to stop and start the SAPOSCOL in AIX 5.3.

I have changed the ownership as you mentioned....

Gotcha, sorry, I'm guessing you are referring to Windows Autoplay. This should do it:
Type regedit into your search bar and bring up Registry editor. Go to the the very top with My Computer. Now go to Edit and Find. Type in the whole offending name that is bugging you, i.e. Soandso's iPhone and hit find. After it searches your registry and finds the first name select it and Edit the Name. I copy/pasted it for all the next steps. After you have found the first name don't stop there. Use F3 to find next Name in registry and So on and so fourth until you have replaced every offending name in your whole registry with the Name you want to show up i.e. Tom's iPhone or whatever? Repeat all of these steps if you have more than one name showing up in your devices? Worked 100% for me. Close regedit and reboot (very important for changes.) Plug your iPhone back in and enjoy all your names back to normal.

If you need to close ASM than you need to also close database
You need to close db:
srvctl stop database -d instance_name
or
set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID
sqlplus "/as sysdba"
shutdown immediate;
srvctl stop LISTENER
srvctl stop ASM -f

Oracle Apex is an API, if that helps you understand / visualize. You do not start Apex process nor stop it.
When an Apex session starts it starts calling the API.
You can however start / stop the listener. It may be OHS, ApexListener and the J2EE container running it, OC4J or any other "server" that you are using.
The built-in EPG is something like an API again, you cannot start / stop it but you can disable/enable it with DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT API.

1) login to Applications tier
2) To see if the MWA (telnet) server is running use:
ps -ef|grep DPID
3) cd $MWA_TOP/bin
3) ./mwactl.sh -login sysadmin/xxxxx stop_force 10200;
4) check the wma process from OS level
ps -ef|grep mwa
for starting
1) login to Applications tier
2) cd $MWA_TOP/bin
3) ./mwactl.sh -login sysadmin/xxxxx start _force 10200;
