How to stop being redirected to Skype China

I am trying to buy an unlimited world 1yr plan under the 15% special offer. But whenever I click on the link it redirects me to Skype China.
I live in Boston MA, USA.
I dont speak chinese. I can't read anything.
How do I get skype to stop sending me there and just let me buy the god damned subscription from the US site.
(The "Buy from Skype site" button just sends me to the same Chinese site so that isn't an answer.)

Hi, hope this would help. I solved this problem by creating a skype manager account (https://manager.skype.com/) in New Zealand and topping up with a NZ credit card. Then add my skype account as a member to the manager account. I allocate credit to this skype account every time I need to top up. It's like a family account and now I top up for my families too . Good luck!

  • Redirecting to skype china

    Hello,
    I wanted to buy skype credit, but when i signed in, and clicked BUY CREDIT, i was automatically redirected to skype china website. It is possible that i first downloaded skype when i was visiting China few years back, but i downloaded english version, and it clearly states in my profile from what is the country that i live in.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanx in advance....

    Another possible solution/go-around: Buy a Skype Voucher @ Target or online....you DON'T need to go to the Chinese Payment site to redeem.

If however your using Microsoft Exchange or another corporate mail server you may have no choice in the matter. The server over rides local settings, and adjustment required the server admin to make changes.

  • How to stop being prompted to make Thunderbird the default client

    When I launch Thunderbird on my iMac (using Mavericks iOS), I'm continually prompted to either "set as default" or "skip integration".
    I neither want Thunderbird to become my default email application, nor do I want to continually be prompted to skip integration.
    How do I stop being prompted for this and NOT have Thunderbird become my default email program?

    I tried to file the bug - guess what it was already there and marked as solved.
    Reading the discussion is not eas, when you are not used to it, but I found the solution or better the work-around.
    Click Tools->Options->Advanced->General
    Click on "Check Now", if you do not want to check.
    Uncheck Email and Newsgroups (or whatever you can and want to uncheck and then click on "Set as Default", which means only "OK" or "Apply" in this environment. (See image)
    Then it should not appear again.
    I understood that some developpers wanted to reorganise the box, but although marked as Resolved Fixed on 2012-10-19, it is still that complicated.
    Hope that Helps

  • How to avoid being redirected to Chinese site?

    Hi, I cannot proceed my payment in euro as every time I choose a subscription, I will be redirected to Skype's Chinese site. Most of the payment methods listed there require Chinese credit cards. Would you please help me to solve this problem so that I can use my credit card (in euro) to make the payment?
    Thank you in advance!

    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]

  • How stop being redirected/hijacked by a different wifi network whenever I log in?

    In error, when connecting, I clicked on the wrong wifi network (digitalpath.net).  Now every time I log in I get automatically connected to that network and every address and search entry gets redirected to it.  How can I stop this?

    In System Preferences->Network->WiFi->Advanced, click the WiFi tab and delete the Network from your preferred networks.

  • How do I stop being redirected to " my filestore"

    I have been using linux mint for a week or so. I am sometimes getting re-directed
    to something called "my filestore". HP media cenetr PC dual booting windows untill
    I get used to Linux. Have done some searching on the forums and havn't found much
    about this problem, is this new? Is it a virus or malware?
    Thanks to anyone that can help

    I notice you have an extension named "Mint Search Enhancer 1.0". Could that be a factor here? You could disable it on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * Tools menu > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions.
    If this problem only occurs when you enter a one-word search in the address bar, it could be a different problem. Firefox sends your one-word queries to your DNS service provider (usually your ISP) to see whether they are valid network host names (e.g., intranet as the name of an internal server or mo.money.now as an internet domain name). Some DNS service providers, instead of saying "no such server" so Firefox sends it to Google will instead point Firefox to their own results page.

  • Redirecting to Skype China site

    I first downloaded Skype when I lived in China and therefore it was there that Skype thinks I am based. I am no longer in China but every time I try to top up on skype credit, It redirects me to the Chinese site. Then, when I try and buy credit on the Chinese site it tells me to "请使用IE浏览器" (Essentially, use the Irish site). How do I stop both sides from getting confused with eachother?

    Another possible solution/go-around: Buy a Skype Voucher @ Target or online....you DON'T need to go to the Chinese Payment site to redeem.

    I currently have a license for the full Adobe Acrobat Pro desktop edition. I also must have signed up for the free trial to the Creative Cloud. Since the Creative Cloud is not necessary how do I stop from being prompted to upgrade to the paid edition of Creative Cloud?

    George004 please uninstall the currently installed Adobe Creative applications, including Adobe Acrobat Professional, following the uninstallation instructions located at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
    Once the Adobe Creative applications are uninstalled you can reinstall the Adobe Acrobat Professional.  If you need a fresh copy of the retail installation files they are available at Other downloads.

  • How to stop the goo.gl Skype virus

    Not sure if this is the right place to post this.
    So recently got this virus sending this message to all my friends, "we made 4936 this month using -link not permitted-" the message sometimes changes, but it's always the same link.
    So I looked up how to get rid of this thing, not sure if it works 100%, someone commented on the video saying you might have to repeat the process. Better than setting your entire computer back to default though, right?
    Here's the video:

    I would also recommend changing your password, deleting Skype cookies, browser cookies and a full computer scan with whatever anti virus software you have.
    If you have anymore advice please comment and I hope this helps someone experiencing the same issue.

    just to be more specific, a full antivirus scan using a fully updated antivirus software.  in most case, an outdated AV software  may not be able to detect/remove new virus/malware/etc.

  • How do I stop people from being redirected from my organization's website to another with a similar address and copied content (not a problem on IE or Chrome)?

    My organization's website is: www.wallingfordseniors.org
    Many people when using Firefox are being redirected to another website (www.wallingfordsseniors.org) which has lifted our content verbatim. Even when typing in our address, people get sent to the other one. This other website is being operated by an unknown entity and the hosting company has no contact information we can find to send a DMCA violation letter to. Anyway to keep people from going to the other site? For now all the links are the same but we are concerned that they will mess with our link to submit donations and route money to themselves with our donors thinking they are giving to us. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    -Javier

    It depends on how it's happening. For example:
    * DNS Server glitch (OS or router level): however, you would expect the same result in all browsers
    * Custom DNS/proxy setting in Firefox - users can check their connection settings as described in this article: [[Advanced settings for accessibility, browsing, system defaults, network, updates, and encryption]] (network mini-tab under Advanced settings)
    * Non-default search engine plugin -- if the user puts a space in the domain -- that doesn't display search results normally: user can make sure Google is selected
    * Hijacked by a browser extension: user can try Firefox's Safe Mode
    * Redirect hacked into your website (in .htaccess or a PHP/JSP/ASPX file under certain circumstances)
    Once the wrong address is in Firefox's history, for example from making a typo once, users may find it hard to notice the difference when given autocomplete suggestions.
    Hopefully you can track it down.

  • How do I stop the box "This web page is being redirected to a new location. Would you like to resend the form data you have typed to the new location?

    I have cleared my cookies and cache and disabled some add ons, but when in Facebook and specifically for Farmville, I keep getting the pop up box, "This web page is being redirected to a new location. Would you like to resend the form data you have typed to the new location?" I have closed and opened the browser, too and it still keeps coming up.... Please help!!! Thanks.

    You can't avoid that if the website is coded that way and data needs to be send from one server to another server.
