how do you use microsoft outlook express 6 email on a mac

You cannot use Outlook Express email client on Mac OS.
You can install Windows on Mac but it seems like overkill to get your email going.
Can you let me know what you want to achieve?
You should really ise Mail programwhich is native to Apple.

  • How can I get iCloud using Microsoft Outlook Express?

With MobileMe I was able to import my mail, contacts, folders, etc. using Microsoft Outlook Express on a PC. I notice since moving Mobile Me to iCloud, when I try to access it using Outlook Express I receive an error saying the server rejected my password, even after verifying several times I am using the correct password. Is iCloud supported for Outlook Express?
    Thanks!

Make sure to go into your icloud panel on your PC (in control panel) and on your phone (settings) and check everything you want to synch.  Curious to know if this works for you as mine was working perfectly until last week.

  • XMLEncoder - how to stop it from using NaN for int's

I am trying to invoke a webservice. I used the Flex Builder 3
service code generator. I have an object "Person" which has three
    fields: {id:int, firstName:String, lastName:String}
I have a case where I invoke a method on a webservice that
takes a person object. the person object in this case should only
have a first and last name defined (no id, yet). I stepped through
the flex source code to see what happens and basically when it
encodes the Person object it gets to the "id" field whose value is
NaN (b/c I never set it). The encoder eventually just decides that
(NaN >= integer.min value) and passes it along so it gets into
my SOAP message as <id>NaN</id>. This causes problems
at the web service (java) side b/c it doesn't know how to
    unmarshall "NaN".
So...any suggestions on how to prevent it from sending
<id>NaN</id>. maybe even just <id /> would be
    ok.

Moving the iOS device backup location
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up, or with Start > Run on older Windows.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: (for example) type in this command and press <Enter>
    Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
    MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your preferred drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
If you have Windows XP then you'll need a third-party tool such as Junction to link the two locations together instead of the MkLink command. The source folder is C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
I'm pretty sure the same technique will work with the iPod software download folder, although it is worth noting that it does not work inside the iTunes Media folder. At last time of testing if you attempt to redirect sections of the media folder and iTunes writes to a redirected location it will erase the link and replace it with a regular folder.

  • How to stop user from using 961 mvt type in MB1C transaction code?

    Hi Friends,
We have two companies. Already we have restricted end user for using 961 & 962 mvt type in MB1C transaction code in one company code 1000. Now, we want to restrict end user for using 961 & 962 mvt type in MB1C transaction code in other company code 1200.
I have checked configuration using OMJJ transaction. But, it is there so there may be some different way of control.
    Can any body help me?
    Regards
    Siva

    Hi,
To restrict/block the movement type,  the steps are:
    1. use transaction code OMJJ.
    2. Enter the movement type you want to block.[From 961 To 961](do for both961& 962)
    3. Select the Second option in the List which appears in the left. (Allowed Transaction).
    4. Remove the transaction codes (MB1C)from where you do not want to use that particular movement type& save.
For user specific to block the movement type, pl consult Basis Consultant.

  • How to stop neighbours from using (wasting) my eprinter

    Hi,
Can my e-printer be hidden or restricted to my named devices? I have just bought the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus, which so far is excellent (although I have not setup the fax option as yet).
I can print from laptops and iphone4 using the wifi, but with the phone, it is a simple search of available wifi printers, which means that any iphone 4 could print to the printer.
Is there anyway to only limit access to the printer to only allowed devices?
    Thanks and regards

    Hi sattyrayat,
As of right now, any iOS device with version 4.2.1 or higher can print to any AirPrint capable printer on the same wireless network. If your neighbors are AirPrinting to your printer with their iOS devices, I would suggest creating or changing your network encryption key, thus not allowing them any access to your network.
****NOTE: changing your encryption key would force you to re-join all of your wireless devices back to your network with the new key.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

  • How to Stop Photoshop From Using So Much Memory?

I've noticed that after I use Photoshop CS3, that I've been losing a big chunk of memory in my C: drive to the point where I have very little memory left while running it. I don't think the files I save are very big, so I'm still confused where all my memory is disappearing. Is there any way to clear up or fix this problem please?

You are confusing available hard drive space with memory (RAM).
The ideal situation is to have a physically separate, dedicated HD exclusively for Photoshop scratch.
The rule of thumb I follow to figure out scratch space says to figure on 50 to 100 times the size of your largest file ever multiplied by the number of files you have open.  I have seen the scratch file exceed 800 GB once, an admittedly rare occurrence, but it often exceeds 200 GB when stitching large panoramas and the like.
As an example—and stressing that I'm aware that others have even more scratch space than I do—I keep two dedicated, physically separate hard drives as my primary and secondary Photoshop scratch disks and a lot of GB free on my boot drive for the OS.  I also have 16 GB of RAM installed.
Additionally, if you only have a single HD, i.e. your boot drive, you'd need it to be large enough to accommodate both the swap files of the OS as well as Photoshop's scratch.

  • How to stop apps from using cellular data?

When I'm out traveling I sometimes enjoy gaming on my iPhone 3G.
Recently I noticed that one of the games (And other apps which "shouldnt" be doing cellular data) I've been playing is downloading cellular data (For in-game commercials!) even though I never gave it permission to do that. I also sometimes see the data network icon animating some times without having any apps running..
The thing is, I live in Norway and cellular data traffic is very expensive here. I want to have full control and give/deny access to cellular data in the moment, alternatively turn it completely off.
Is there any way to turn off the celluar data traffic (And hopefully an easy way)?

Turn on Airplane Mode and turn off WiFi in Settings.

  • How to stop computer from going to lock screen after 15 minutes (Windows 8.1)

My laptop was going to lockscreen after 15 minutes. I adjusted power settings and went to advanced screen, adjusted that and ......no change.  Now somebody somewhere said that my system settings were overriding my power settings and that helped. I
did this and things were fixed. But now, it's gone back to 15 minute thing, which is a pain when I'm watching, say, a movie. And, I don't remember what I did before to fix it, and I can't find the information anywhere!  Help!!!

    Hi,
Seems we all missed an important option:
Please click "Settings" in the right charm bar, then "Change PC Settings"\"PC and device"\"Lock Screen",
Turn off "When my PC is inactive, show the lock screen instead of turning off the screen"
You can change the inactive time with security policy:
Click Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Local Security Policy> Local Policies> Security Options> Interactive Logon: Machine Inactivity Limit>set the time you want.
After you change the policy setting, run gpupdate /force

  • I cant stop firefox from using X4 resources as top PC games, how do I fix?

I have used all manner of tricks and tips to reduce resource consumption with all the skills learned from two years of computer science education (yes I have a BS) and nothing will stop FireFox from using upwards of 4 Ghz of RAM. Make it stop or I will stop using it as well as suggest that all of my clients avoid it like the Plague. There is no reason why this application should use MORE resources than a top of the line PC game when all it is doing is viewing a website (Security is up to the client and should not be required for basic function). Please advise as to how to limit the application to a reasonable resource level so we can keep folks interested for both of our sakes. This effects my livelihood, thank you for your time.

    Hello,
Can you please help us locate the issue for the memory consumption of the browser. Can you please try the suggestions provided in this KB article [[Firefox uses too much memory (RAM) - How to fix]].
And if you still continue to see the issue, providing the about:memory statistics as mentioned in the 'Memory troubleshooting tools' section will be very helpful.
Also, can you please compare the memory consumption you are seeing on the browser with the statistics published on [https://areweslimyet.com/ Are We Slim Yet].
    Thank you

How to stop iPhoto from opening each time I add a photo using Yosemite

    Add image to iPhoto Library
From where.  I don't think you can keep it mininmized when importing because if it runs into a duplicate it will present a warning window for you to make a decision in. Therefore, it will always be open when importing.

  • HT5624 Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up.  Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID.  If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple.

The short story is that the new 'certifcate checking' system could be downloading large amounts of data, you can turn it of as follows…

Turning off CRL & OCSP checking in the Certificates Preferences in Keychain Access solved the problem.
You can do as others have done, install Little Snitch & use the Network Monitor to view what is happening, that thread has some good advice. http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html
@Topher, Activity Monitor is a bit pants for tracking processes that respawn or just go away (I assume its because it's an on-demand job, have you got a nice article on 'mach services', Linc confused me !? ).
ocspd seems to do that in my limited testing,
Little Snitch is the easiest way to monitor & you can get away with the free demo for long enough to test if funds are tight.

  • How many of you use CTRL + Enter to send email from Outlook

It's a much faster option...and you don't have to grab that pesky mouse!

I was working this morning and I asked my fiance if she used CTRL + Enter to send email from Outlook and she was not even aware that was an option. I have been using it for years and I wondered how many of you SpiceHeads use it as well?
