How to stop core files?

Ever since Mac keeper was on my computer (Now successfully removed) i have these mysterious core files filling my hard drive with in two hours. These core files are filling the only 64 gb remaining on my hard drive. Is there a way of stopping these pesky files, as I am sick of having to delete them all the time.

That is about adding adding alternate stream data to indicate that the file was downloaded via internet.

How can stop my PDF document being saved with the fillable form data when being using Adobe Reader 11.2 on an IPAD - the file is automatically saved when the user returns to the document folder. I think the iPad forces a different way of thinking. In general, you don't have to save files on the iPad, and that's important. The iPad has complete liberty to quit an app when you want to run a different app, or just because it feels like it. When you restart a good app, things are as they were when it was quit.
Resetting is a possibility, but remember that because of this automatic quit/automatic restart it might happen when you don't want it. A reset BUTTON seems entirely possible.

How to stop php file opening in Dreamweaver

Hi,
I have never used Dreamweaver and I am not using it at present, but after installing Xampp on my PC, the php files open in Dreamweaver. The pages are blank so cannot even be modified. Is there a way I can stop these files opening in Dreamweaver?
Any advise would be appreciated.

Dreamweaver cannot open files if it is not installed. Be sure to check the Windows programs or Applications folder on a Mac. You can also run the Adobe Clean Script to remove all remnants of Adobe programs on your computer.

Alternatively you can always right click on a file in Windows or on a Mac and choose the associated program and change all files. By default those files will open in a text editor unless an HTML editor is around.

To stop media file u can use the stop() method or the stopAndDeallocated() method in the media player that is run the media file
mediaplayer.stop();
mediaplayer.stopAndDeallocate();
if u want to pause the mediaplayer u have to save the time of the media and set it when u want to play it again.
pausemediaplayer.stopAndDeallocate();
Timer timer = mediaplayer.saveMediaTime();

How to stop as files from running until a certain frame

Hi all,
I have a simple flash game with two frames at the moment.
Most of the stuff that happens is in as files linked to
different movie clips.
I orignially only had one frame my background frame and when
testing I just press ctl+enter and bamm away it goes the
actionscript runs as soon as the movie/game starts and ergo the
game plays.
My problem is this, I now want to have a start/home frame at
the beginning (of course) which has the start game button on which
when clicked THEN starts the game.
Currently the game starts in the first frame along with the
start button :(
How do I stop the game running straight away and my first
frame only contains the start button, which when clicked then goes
to the 2nd frame and starts the game?

A friend resolved the issue for me;
By renaming the main contrustor and calling this in the start
button Example action script applied to the button:

How to stop copied files from being automatically trashed

so this has only been happening recently, in the last 2-3 weeks.
if i choose a file, say "example.txt" and duplicate it, adding "example copy.txt" to the desktop, within a couple seconds, it gets automatically placed in the trash.
if i rename the copy to "example.2.txt" and move it back to the desktop, it'll stay. so it's not an issue of identical files being trashed. if i take it and name it back to "example copy.txt" it gets placed in the trash again automatically.
how do i stop this? it's driving me mental because i have to go retrieve everything i copy from the trash bin. i'm sure i haven't downloaded any automators or anything, so any kind of input would be beneficial.

have u specified the bad or log file path while creating the external file.no I do not. I use simple UTL_FILE for writing to these files but it does generate .log all the time and sometimes .bad whenever there is some problem.

How to stop Nitro file converter from altering all Adobe files

I recently wanted to convert a word document to PDF and downloaded a free version of the program Nitro but as the only free part of the downloaded program was to look at it as it then wanted me to purchase the full program before I could use it so I deleted from my computer. But before it finished uninstalling itself it altered all the Adobe files and documents I had on my computer also it now alters the file type of any Adobe file or document sent to me as an email attachment. How can I stop it? would taking the manufacturer to court sort them out? If anyone has any ideas of how to prevent or alter what has happened send to email address [email protected]

To a point what you said to resolve the problem worked but what the Nitro programme did was convert all my Adobe documents and files into a pdf that can only be opened by a Word programme. If I click on the icon which used to be an Adobe file which has now become a form of greyed out Word icon it automatically opens M/S Word but cannot read it as it’s a pdf file.
Do you know of any way I can convert them back to an adobe readable file?

How to stop a file opening on two computers at the same time?

in OS9, if a file was open, another computer on the network couldn't open it. Now in 10.4 we can have the file open on two computers and the first they know is when one goes to save it. We still want to access and edit the file across the network, just not at the same time. Is there a better way to do this?

Some applications take note of files being open in multiple locations. One great example is Circus Ponies Notebook, which warns a user opening a file if it is still open for another user.

How to SQL trace File in udump Folder

I kept the Sql Trace for one database. Now i am getting the bulk of files in udump folder. I tryed the command
ALTER SESSION SET SQL_TRACE=FALSE
to stop the trace, but it is not stoping.
Now my problem is how to stop this file load in to that folder.

U told first that it is my mistake of enabling in database level. What are the real commands to start the trace and stop the trace by that session. What the Oracle Books says is this commands i followed ( Book name --- ORACLE HIGH PERFORMANCE TUNING FOR 9i AND 10g BY GAVIN POWELL ) Page -- 339

This command i followed. This is for session only, then why this is happened in database level.

How to stop SQL Server 2008 R2 generating SQLDump.mdmp files constantly?

Something went wrong with local SQL Server 2008 R2 and it constantly generates SQLDump.mdmp files. It generated 40Gb(!) of SQLDump.mdmp this morning. Server rebooted, but didn't help.
Any ideas what happened with SQL Server and how to stop SQLDump.mdmp files generation?

Memory Dumps are generated automatically by the SQL Server under various circumstances - most of which indicate potential problems in the Instance or the machine. Some that I can recall right now are:
Database Corruption
Non-yielding scheduler
Non-yielding resource monitor
AV (Access Violation)
There can be several other reasons as well. SQL Server generates the dumps, so that these dumps can be analyzed to find out potential problems in the SQL Server.
IMHO, rather than trying to find out ways to stop the dumps from being generated, please try to find out potential problems in the Instance or the machine and fix that. This will stop the dump generation anyway.

How to stop Time Machine from backing up Temp Files?

Hi folks!
I am trying to find out how to stop Time Machine from constantly backing up 'useless' temporary files accumulated from web browsing? Although I don't change or add large files to my HD, Time Machine backs up hundreds of MBs every hour. Those file amounts make sense when I consider that I browse a lot to YouTube, SoundCloud, etc to watch videos or listen to music - I just don't want them to be backed up.
Under Time Machine Options I already excluded the following items from backups:
~/Library/Caches
/Library/Caches
~/Downloads
But even though I did this weeks ago, Time Machine stills finds large files to be backed up every hour and my only guess is that I am still missing a location where either Safari or Firefox - the two web browsers I use - store temporary files.
Can you help?

If you're running Windoze on your Mac, that's the same as running it on a PC, so it needs all the same anti-everything stuff you'd use on a PC.

This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

How to stop 12 flv files all loading at once

Hi Guys,
Ive just created a page with 12 FLV players, all to play
audio, problem is, when you click open the page, all the tracks
seem to be loading into the players.
Can some one please tell me how to stop this, Im a flash
newbie so please leave me tips on how to do this.
Also is there any code i can put in the html page, or will i
need to recode each FLV seperately.

There are a couple of ways I think would work.
1. Use only one Playback Component. At the appropriate time,
change the content of that single player using
instanceName.contentPath = "new file name";
2. If you use multiple players, set the parameters to not
automatically load. At the appropriate tim use
"instanceName.load();"

Use NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS event listener for netstream and trace(event.info.code);
if info.code is NetStream.Play.Stop the video is finished playing.
use NetStream.close() method to Stops playing all data on the stream
