How to stop delete system stats in Mavericks OS X 10.9.3

From time to time my iMac (late 2009) slows down and the reason seems to be an App named "system stats" as seen in the Activity Monitor on top of all other CPU Usage items. How can I avoid system stats to pop up again?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

just a follow up on Torstens reply. You will see the discovery records show up in the console without having the client installed. That will be corrected when clients perform a hardware inventory re-sync. It all happens automatically, no panic and don't
reinstall the clients.

How to make the system from asking for a password for every installation???

You can't do that. Apple is very careful to make sure that only an authorized person does installations.

I've got an iPhone 4s and a macbook pro. My emails download to each device perfectly. However, when I delete emails on my phone, it deletes them from the macbook pro and I don't want them to! How do I change my settings to stop them from being deleted?

However, I also have an Ipad and the emails on that never get deleted unless I physically delete them!! If I have to have the phone and macbook deleting automatically, can I set the ipad to also delete automatically??

How to stop Safari from freezing with Maverick??

I updated my late 2009 IMac with Maverick in late December. It continues to get hung up in Safari after 2-3 webpages. I have used Glims Unistall over and over again as suggested in numerous posts to no avail I continue to get a frozen page in Safari. I shut down, empty caches, reset Safari and nothing seems to work. Wondering if Apple is going to have a permanent fix for this problem. I don't think I am the only one.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

How to stop / delete a tween in progress?

Hi there
I have a movie clip that I am moving with tweens. When the user clicks a button it creates a new tween and the movie clip moves. However, I have another button that sets the position of the same movie clip. The problem comes when this button is clicked if the tween is in progress. The tween continues and my content moves out of view. Is there a way to stop or delete the tween when the second button is clicked?
Here is a simplified example of the relevant AS:
button1.onRelease = function(){
   new Tween(movieClip, "_y", Strong.easeOut, movieClip._y, movieClip._y + 200, 1, true);
button2.onRelease = function(){
   // code here to stop the above tween if it is in progress?
   movieClip._y = 0;
I'm using AS2 in CS3

Ah, I've just added that stop() command to the button function above the new Tween line:

MS Word changes spelling language - how to fix, how to stop. (Macbook Pro. Maverick OSX)

My macbook in MS word and Pages changes language spelling dictionaries to some unknown langauge (to me), and I am unable to switch back to U.S. English.
I have checked the Global/macbook settings and its correctly set for English.
But in MS Word, I am not given the choice.
I see many have had similar problems in the user groups, but I don't see the solution that applies to me.

MS Word and Pages use totally different spellcheck systems.
For Pages, you set the language Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar
For Word, you set it in Tools > Language

You cannot get the systems status without running something.
Then when you run something it will say, something is running.
You cannot implement this functionality in Java.
You may be able to get this information in JNI but you will need to have a good low level understanding to do it.
I would suggest you write a Windows screensaver (there should be examples on the web) and then have it run a Java application when it is active.

You don't. That's the way Exchange Active Sync works. It fully synchronizes the two.
The Blackberry allowed you to do that because all of your Exchange e-mail was actually going through another server before it ever got to your phone. Blackberry uses a middleman server (for lack of a better term) to handle communication. Your BB was never actually communicating directly with your Exchange server.

Sorry for the typo. It's a BDC source, I use a WCF client to access a SQL Database (HR External System) that has 4 fields that are necessary to present in the Sharepoint User Profile. The issue occurs with a Full or a Delta Sync. The problem is that if the
BDC source is not present the fields are deleted (I get a SPS-Dummy Added and all of the pbjects in the BDC Connector Space are deleted).
I do not want this to happen. I do not want the User Profile Attributes/Fields to be empty/deleted if there is no connection I simply want them to stay what they are... I have two issues.
1) Is that the even if i change my data on SQL Server side, the changes do not get picked up by the sync. Since the only field that is being tested for change is an ADid, since the id does not change the BDC does not consider them changes.
2) If there is no connection I do not want the attributes to be deleted. I have not figured out a way to effectively do this.
So my issue appears to be simple to solve, but after 4 days and hundreds of tutorial pages read I have yet to figure out a proper way to do this.

The Fields that come form the HR System (SQL Server) are to be presented in the user profile. If there is no connection to the BDC file the fields remain as they are until there is a connection and updates can be made. Changes to any of the fields are performed
manually in the HR system. These changes must be picked up by the daily sync.

1. There seems to be a simple solution within Finder. Remove both:
/System/Library/Frameworks/GameKit.framework/Versions/A/Resources/gamed
and
/System/Library/Launch Agents/com.apple.gamed.plist
or
2. Open the Terminal app located in the Utilities Folder. Then copy/paste and run these commands, one at a time:
defaults write com.apple.gamed Disabled -bool true
then
sudo launchctl stop com.apple.gamed
I hope that solves your problem, but now see how bad it is and why you want to access the System Folder too!
Just click on "MacIntosh HD" in the sidebar of Finder. Then navigate to the folder given in the link.
