I signed up here a while ago because I needed some help with software on my macbook. As it happens, ever since, I´ve been receiving approximatly one hundred email a day from this forum, general replies to peoples questions here. I have NOT signed up for that, and I have checked NO on all the email notification preferances here. WHAT can be done to stop this extremely annoing email- flow to my gmail? It can´t really be supposed to be like this??

I have done this, here are screenshots of what it actually looks like
As you see, I only have email notifications for my own two posts.. But I still recieve between 50- 100 email every day from the support communities on varoius posts and topics from other users. How can this be? If there is no other places to stop the emails, I need somebody to tell me how to leave this site all together, I can´t have my mailbox filled every day anymore, it´s very annoying.
Please say any of you can help, do you know if there are anyone that actually runs and manages this site that can be contacted about my issue?

works ok on mine - (5, 7.1.1). Try again. with previews set to none, mine shows the sender and the subject line only. (you cannot get rid of the subject) with the other settings, you get the sender, subject line and however many lines you selected.

For what it is worth I have noticed a similar issue from the iPad3 while at work and home. At work we have two Apple TV 3rd Generation installed and tied to our A/V system. I believe the issue has to do with a timeout on the broadcast saying "here I am" and allowing devices to connect.
For example:
At work we have several Wi-Fi SSID being broadcast from Cisco APs. The only one we can use with the Apple TV is the one that uses a WEP since the others are either setup to be hidden, require web page authentication, or have a login requirement from employees. Essentially, what I believe the issue is that the Apple TV periodically broadcasts a message to other iOS devices that support Mirroring. When the Apple TV does not get a response from a device it goes into a dormant mode and requires either a command from the remote control or a reboot. This has been tested with both the power management enabled and not enabled with the same results.
As for when I come home, the Apple TV3 has not seen the device in some time and therefore is not broadcasting it's location information. A simple click of the circle or menu keys on the remote will give it the command to start broadcasting again and allow the iPad3 to see the Apple TV. When trying to Home Share the computer can not play (iTunes 11, Win8RTM) until the Apple TV is awoken then it will show up for mirroing.
This may or may not assist you but, it hopefully explains how the issue may be happening.

No. They are not being created by the phone. They are being created by your mail system, whether that is Exchange, Yahoo, Google, etc. They all have settings to automatically create contacts from people you correspond with. There is no setting on the phone to control this. Check the settings for your mail account with or talk to your IT department.

does anybody know how to suppress the notification email that is sent from the contribution step (auto-contribute) of a criteria workflow. Now the user doing the checkin gets an email about the start of a workflow.

- what is the step type of your 3rd step? Is it Review or Review/Edit-New Revision?
If just Review, what happens if you change it to Review/Edit Revision or Review/New Revision?
- calling just the UPDATE_DOCINFO service does not explain neither sending the email, nor changing the current step. What might be an explanation is calling a CHECKIN service in a Review step (the engine might be confused and 'restart' the workflow as it would not know whether a new, or current revision should be updated)
Well, actually there could be one reason: updating the security group
From whatever reason, criteria workflows are designed in such a way that security group is the mandatory parameter. This means that changing the security group might actually mean that the content item is in a wrong workflow (I was just about to ask "why on earth do you call UPDATE_DOCINFO in a Java?' and this came to my mind - custom metadata might be updated directly in iDocScript via wfUpdateMetaData http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10726/c06_core_ref.htm#i1067045 ). If that's the case, you might have to re-design the whole stuff.
Can you share details what is updated?

How to stop email notification on PO revision - PO approval workflow

This is part of the seeded POAPPRV Workflow. When a new PO is created, a notification is created (that requires acceptance). The PO is then revised before a response to the original notification has taken place, which deploys a new notification and closes the original one. When the original notification is closed with no response having been provided, the POAPPRV Workflow states:
"You earlier received the notification shown below. That notification is now closed, and no longer requires your response. You may simply delete it along with this message."
Can anyone tell me how to stop sending this second notification when notification is cancelled ?

When a notification is sent to a user and the user has a notification preference to receive e-mail notifications then the notifications will be sent via e-mail and they will also appear in the user's worklist.
If the user responds to the notification from the worklist (let's say approves) the notification will be responded to and will be removed from the worklist. Now, there is nothing that Workflow can do about the e-mail notification in the e-mail client (yahoo, ms outlook, gmail, etc). So if the user attempts to approve from there, the Workflow Inbound Mailer will realize the incoming e-mail corresponds to a notification that was responded to already. So it has to let the user know that his e-mail will not be processed. So the user will need to consider what he's done before sending an e-mail response.

But when saving sanpshot or simulation the tasks which have status of released also trigger email nofitication. How to cancel this notification of snapshot and simulation?

How can I adjust contrast on Apple Support Sites, etc.

I have a great problem with Apple web content. Even this attempt to type my question is plagued by the same issue: There is not enough contrast between the letters I just typed, and their back ground. A big problem for me, as it seems the font color chosen by this apple web page and its background color chosen by this webpage, are creating an almost impossible eye strain and are terrible for people suffering from various forms of eye disease such as cataracts, makular degeneration, etc. I am one of them. I use Zoom for most of my computer work and generally can do everything on my Mac. Except change this lack of contrast on any website created by Apple web designers. Apple Update sites urging me to change my OS to Yosemite are completely unreadable to me! I need somebody to read its faded print to me. I dread to change to an OS that I probably cannot read because some web designer who want to design a contrast combination that is more "far out" than the previous one. There are millions having such eye diseases and computers are one way to let them enlarge and see things needed for their continued function. Contrast settings in Accessibilty Preferences do not alleviate the problem as they simply seem to make the screen brighter if increased.
Is there any Application that would let me change the contrast settings of a website designed by Apple?

Thanks for the hep I will contact the suggested Apple site. As a guy who worked with Apple computers since they were black and white pack-backs its nice to know that I am not the only one to notice that there is a big problem here.
I experimented again with the Accessibility Preferences/Contrast settings on my MacBook Air, and discovered that If I slide the indicator to the right to "Enhance Contrast", the opposite happens on my screen: I have less contrast so that grey fonts wash out into the white back-ground more and more as the pointer is moved to the right.
I never had to adjust the settings since I bought the MacBook with OS 10.6, and its function could have been reversed by OS upgrades since then o my present OS 10.8.5, or it could have been a problem since I bought the computer (used) from my Apple dealer.
I never had to adjust the contrast settings until now, since my eyes became weaker, and the Apple websites started using fonts of too similar a color to the background they are printed on.
So with that in mind it could be a hardware problem such as a reversed +/- wiring connection to the screen, a reversed diode on the motherboard, or a short in the diode wiring, a reversed OS code setting that reverses the direction of the contrast setting for its control.
It could also be Malware or a Virus, which has not been detected by the OS, nor the latest Norton on my Macbook Air..
