How to stop Lion App from Downloading

I just started downloading the Lion Os. I began to read the reviews and got worried so I paused the download on my macbook pro. I am not good with computers that is why I got a mac. I blindly got this app but I cannot take time to try to fix all the potential problems and changes. I don't need a refund I just need to avoid hassles. Please help.

Click & hold on the Dock icon and you should see a pause option. Alternattively, Mac Apple Store->Purchases should show the DL status and give you an option to pause it. Finally, if it finishes DLing and starts the installer, just quit it. You have to actively choose to run the installer once it downloads to your /Applicatiions folder.

Well Thank you for everyone's help.  I contacted the service provider, who uses google to support their email.  If anyone else has this problem....with google supported email here is the solution.
    Go to your email account
    click settings
click "settings" (again) under the settings button
    click "forwarding and POP/IMAP"
under POP download click "enable POP for mail that arrives from now on"
    save changes
    Then go to your iphone
    erase your email account
    re-install your email account
now only new emails should show up on your phone, all your past emails will be saved at the server.

Apps do not download to icloud, no need to stop what never happens.

  • How do i stop an app from downloading on my mac pro?

okay - so here goes. i went and opened the app store application on my mac pro. i saw the app for downloading Lion 10.7.3.  at present i have Lion 10.7.2. so i figured, well, i already purchased Lion, so this upgrade should be free - and i clicked install. it asked for my apple id and password. i entered it - and it began to download Lion 10.7.3.
only then i saw the price tag on the side and thought to myself, "$&#%, what if i'm being charged for this?" so i went and did my "softward update" check. low and behold, waiting for me is 10.7.3.
so here's where i'm at. i have 10.7.3. downloading as an app (potentially i'm PAYING for it!), and i have it "paused" right now.
i want to simply install 10.7.3 as an update, which i KNOW IS FREE.
but i can't seem to delete the download that's paused right now (which I might be PAYING for).
    so...any advice?
    thanks. ha! this is ridiculous.

If you already purchased it with the same Apple ID, then you will not be re-charged.

  • How to Stop Flash Video from Downloading

    Greetings,
Can anyone tell me how to configure Flash video from
automatically beginning the download process as soon as the page
loads? I've set autoPlay to false, so it does stop on the first
frame. But I can still see the download progress bar when it should
    wait for a click.
    Thanks

Is this one of those questions you guys get tired of
    answering? ;-)
I've reviewed the answers for similar questions, but found
none that fully addressed my issue. If you could refer me to a
post, or an Adobe tutorial that deals with this head on, I would
    really appreciate it.
    Thanks.

    You cannot stop it otherwise.
You can try contacting itunes support and see if they will remove it.

  • How to stop mail app from embedding photos

How do I get the Mail App from embedding my photo attachments. I'm using Yahoo that was just migrated from a PC through Migration assistant

Thanks Linc, it took me a bit to figure out that within this link was a way to close the message viewer, which I've done for now.
I would still be interested to know if there is a way for the message viewer panel to be open and have mail NOT open the next message automatically.  I do like to have the message panal open.  But I am not sure why the default is to jump to the next message, or why we cannot have it sit at the last messge and allow us to choose when we are ready to read the next message.
For now, the link you sent does give me an option.
    Thank you!

  • HT5295 How to stop the app from requesting to download episodes

I transfer a list of specific episodes from iTunes.  I have sync and autodownload and 4G turned off in settings, yet the app keeps asking me if I want to turn on cellular to download episodes.  I only want the episodes in the playlist to show up, not any other episodes.  How do I make the app confine itself to what I synced from iTunes only.

  • How to stop multiple iPhones from downloading apps from each other?

I updated to the iOS 6 and now my iPhone is syncing with my moms. I downloaded apps earlier and her iPhone was getting them as well. I logged into my own Apple ID but it is still syncing on both phones.
How do I make it so I get my apps and she gets hers?

I tried uninstalling firefox and all of its components , restarting my computer , and re-downloading a fresh copy of firefox. I went through all of the things as far as installing and it said it would launch firefox as soon as it was done installing! And guess what? It went right back to that picture that you see above!! Not sure what is going but hopefully I can get this figured out... I love Firefox and don't want to use anything else!! Would it be something to do with Yahoo? I really like the Yahoo interface and have been using it for years! Never had a problem on Firefox before like this!! I just heard that yahoo has been kind if "intrusive" to some people.... thanks again!

  • HT1848 how do i keep APPS from downloading automatically on my macbook pro

I know this is itunes 101, but I still don't know how to get all my music/movies on the cloud or thru internet without getting all the apps my kids download all the time -help! I havw a MacBook Pro.

If they are downloading from the store as opposed to copying over from devices when they are synced, then go into iTunes > Preferences (command-comma) and on the Store tab on that make sure that Apps (under the 'automatic downloads' heading) is 'off'

  • We were wondering how you stop some apps from running with out deleting them something like a task manager and in my settings im missing the application button in it how do i get it back and stop some apps its making it run really slow

how do you stop apps with out deleting them i have looked for something like a task manager and nothing and researched about it and it says to go into your settings and then click applications but i dont have one can someone please help[ me thank you

Double click the Home button. The bottom row shows the recently used apps. Touch and hold the app until they all start to wiggle then tap the circled minus sign by apps you want to remove. Press the Home button to return to normal.
However, that is recently used apps not apps doing something. Some apps will do things all the time/periodically like checking for Notification, new mail. Yu can turn those off in the apps themselves.
Just what are you trying to accomplish?

  • How to stop Calendar app from asking for my icloud password every 5 minutes

    On Mac OS X 10.9.5
Recently the Calendar app pops up a window every few minutes asking for my iCloud password. I am sure I am entering the correct password, and selecting Remember password in my keychain - but it doesn't help. I have tried switching off Calendars in my iCloud settings, waiting then switching it on again. I have restarted my computer (several times). Nothing seems to help. The problem started since setting up 2-step authentication for my iCloud account. Any help much appreciated - It is really annoying!

I found this on the Flexibit website.
Why does Fantastical ask for my iCloud password after enabling two-factor authentication for iCloud?
Apple recently made a change and now requires app-specific passwords when using two-factor authentication with iCloud. Please read this on how to set it up: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6186.
If you've set up an app-specific password and Fantastical is still not accepting the new password, make sure that you aren't accidentally pasting in a return with the password. iCloud's website will include a return at the end of the password if you copy and paste the password directly from the iCloud website, which will cause the app-specific password to be rejected.

  • How to stop Music app from shuffling

Running latest iOS on iPhone 4S. The Music app is playing through a very large playlist (>1000 songs) that I want to listen to in order, but it is shuffling songs in the list. How do I get this to stop? When a song is playing, the "Repeat", "Create" and "Shuffle" buttons on the bottom of the screen are in normal red text.

    Sadly, this did not help.
Oddly, the playlist in iTunes on my computer is in order by track number; on the phone, the tracks appear to be sorted by artist name.
How to make it work right?? Frustrating!

  • How to stop Safari app from crashing

About 2 days ago my Safari app began crashing when it tried to open a page. Whenever I open safari and try to load a page, it starts to load and then jumps back to my iphone home screen. This happens for every page...it's not random. No software was updated when this began, but something apparently happened. I updated to version 4.3.5 today thinking that would solve the problem, but it hasn't. Nor has rebooting the phone. I'm using a 32GB 3GS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Tony

Try resetting the phone instead of rebooting. To do a reset, press the sleep and home button for about 10-15sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data doing a reset, but it can clear some glitches.
