How to stop my second monitor from dimming (connected on a mbp)?

I have a MBP 13" late 2011, I have a second monitor connected to it (LG 24EN43VS), and it doesn't stop from dimming. For me it seems that as soon as I have movements in the second screen it dims, then come back full brightness, but it's annoying I feel like having a stroboscope lol.

PS: I even did a fresh install of Yosemite + Reset SMC & RPAM

Here are the specs for your HP ENVY TouchSmart 23se-d494 All-in-One Desktop Computer. Based the specs, the HDMI port on the side of your computer is an INPUT only. This model doesn't have a video output of any kind.

You will need to purchase and use a USB-to-video adapter such as the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39 (or any of the many other adapters on the market) to connect an external display to your computer. I personally use and recommend the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39.

MyApp is already running, how to stop a second launch?

Suppose MyApp is already running, and the user double clicks the icon on the desktop to launch a new one. How do I stop the second app from launching? Is there a way to query the system to see what processes are running and have main() exit if it finds an instance of MyApp?

How to allocate a free port number for such operation? I can see here a possible problem, if that port number is being used by an another application. Then it won't work and my app should use an another port number.
If you only could use JNI (.dll or .so) to check for running application instance, that would give a less problems. Maybe a native code should enumerate all windows and read titles.

I too got the same. Both monitors went portrait. Then I unchecked the 'Mirror Display' option in the Arrangment tab of iMac display and voila. Got what I wanted.

In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and facilitate future improvements to Firefox, the option to hide the tab bar was removed.
Fortunately, this can easily be resolved if you desire the keep tabs hidden. You can install "[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/hide-tab-bar-with-one-tab/ Hide tab bar with one tab]", an extension hosted on Mozilla's add-ons site, which will restore the ability to hide the tab bar.

With any marquee tool, JUST holding down the option key should not switch tools. You need to explain the problem much more carefully, It's completely impossible to tell from your description whats going wrong.

Your proflie indicates your Mac has v10.7.1 installed.
If that is the case, updating your system software will help as far as functionaly as well as security.
Install the OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)
Then restart your Mac.

I looked at your post this morning and did not know enough to respond, other than to find out that links to iListen now go to newer, renamed software. Considering it's been nine hours with no response, I'm suspecting few people here have experience with that software. You could contact the current copmany that used to sell that package and see if they have any archived support info.
BTW: please check you entry for "Mac OS" in your profile. It says iOS, which cannot run on an iMac. iOS is the system for phone and iPads but can't run on Mac computers. Do "About this Mac" from the Apple menu and see what it says about the OS version. Should look like this:

Second monitor very dim on Vista 32 Boot Camp 2.1

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT graphics card driving two Apple Cinema HD monitors (first is 23" and an older 24") and after installing BC 2.1 the second monitor becomes dim and the NVIDIA control panel can't be used to get a satisfactory setting nor does the brightness button at the front do anything. The 23" monitor is fine and the brightness buttons on the side can be used perfectly. When I run OS X I find the brightness has been turned down to the minimum setting on the 24" monitor- having changed it in display properties on OS X, it becomes dim again when Vista is started on BC (it remains bright during the startup process for Vista!). It seems this is a BC 2.1 issue as when I roll back to installation disk drivers the problem disappears. Any ideas?!?

Thanks for the suggestion. However, in the Boot Camp Control Panel with BC 2.1 I have two tabs (Startup Disk and Power). I seem to recall that under a previous version there was a Brightness tab. This may be a problem with BC 2.1 installation- I can't seem to locate drivers install facility for BC 2.1, only Update to 2.1 seems to be available.... Kuldeep

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

To enable or disable Private Browsing, turn Private Browsing on or off.
Private Browsing in iOS 5 protects private information and blocks some websites from tracking your behavior. Safari doesn't remember the pages you visit, your search history, or your AutoFill information.
Note: While Private Browsing is enabled, the Safari bars appear black or dark instead of blue or gray.
