I set parental control on but every time I try to visit a site a pop-up comes saying i can not visit a site when I am not even trying to visit the site that it is saying i can not visit, so how do i keep the parental control on but stop the pop-ups?

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.

Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

Firefox usually doesn't block pop-ups, especially if you allow them, but extensions and some security software can block pop-ups.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I'm not sure what you mean unless you are talking about the ads that pop up when you are using free apps. The only way to stop those pop ups is by purchasing the full versions of the apps. The advertisements help pay the developer for the app - if you choose to not download the paid version.

When in iPhone, in Facebook, I "share" a news item from the Home page to my Timeline, another page pops up that says "Your friends also liked..." and shows me things I posted "a year ago". I've done everything in Settings and I can't get it to stop. I must click "Done" to close the pop up. Because I "share" a few hundred times a day, this extra page and step to get rid of it is really annoying as ****.

I did the following and it worked:
Safari - preferences - security - Internet plug-ins - click "website settings" - go through each point. Mine was embedded in Adobe Flash player. It was called "smart-search" so I blocked it and deleted it and this solved the issue.

The forums would be full of people complaining that you had to go through an additional step ( opening the phone app) to get to contacts. I use the contacts app from the home screen far more often then I use it in relation to calling someone.
