How to stop safari from redirecting you to an app?

When I'm in safari and I want to click on a link for a website like Amazon or Google Maps, safari automatically redirects me the app without asking if I want to be redirected. Other than just deleting the app entirely from my phone, how do I stop this from happening?

Specifically, which page is it?
If the page uses rotating advertising, it could be that the entire page reloads every set interval and not the ad itself (which would be the smart thing to do) and thus forces the browser to be pushed back to the top of the page.
If the page doesn't use advertising and just refreshes itself for new content every set interval, it could set Safari to the top of the page, too. In short, it seems like the problem is not on your end but rather the website.

  • How to stop safari from auto completing url?

    Re: Safari v. 5.1

How can I stop Safari from auto-completing url entries when I begin typing or entering a url in the http box i.e. can I turn this feature off?
    Thanks,
    Henrik

    Unfortunaly, that's a problem.

  • How to stop Safari from realoading page and worst, start at the TOP?

When clicking something, for example an article in an online newspaper, after reading, when you scroll back to the newspaper, Safari reloads and starts at the TOP of the page. This drives me crazy, and I have to work hard to figure out were I was in the very long frontpage of the online newspaper. Please help!
PS! Opera DOES NOT do this. So I want Safari to behave like Opera :-)
But Opera is not as good on a Mac as on a PC (I tried), so I have to use Safari, and therefore needs to figure this out.
    Please help! :-)

This Apple-forum we now are using are a great example of the how totally useless Safari is.
I tried to find answer for my question, and pressed "more" at the bottom of the page, and then "more" again and again until I found something interesting i want to read. So I was a bit down in the forum frontpage. Opened the forum-post, read and used mouse gestures to get back to the forum.
Safari reloaded and startet at the top of the page, so now I must scroll down and press "more", scroll down again and press "more" again, scroll and press "more" and then once again, just to get where I was in the first place!!!
Well, I am speachless. If this problem is unsolvable, I have no other choice than find another browser to use. This is just too stupid and it drives me crazy!
So, you kind people out there, this is really an emergency.
And if Apple-staff are reading this, well, you now know what you have to do, fix it immediately!

As a note, you can double tap the Home button and select the iPod app as that is what I'm doing now. It's not intuitive and you would think if you select Done you'd go back to the folder list in the iPod app.

  • Make it stop! How to stop Safari from constantly asking to use a password even though I've "Denied" it 100s of times

Since getting the new Mac Mini a few weeks ago, and using the new version of Safari, when I go to some websites I visit regularly Safari constantly asks if I want to use a certain password. I press Deny and keep getting asked the next time I visit that page, again, again and again.
How can I make it stoppppppp.
Specifics:  I develop for NetSuite users. NetSuitee- commerce sites use https://checkout.netsuite.com  as the URL and I need to have a test shopping account login for each site I manage.
On the backend of NetSuite, the part that no one sees, where we login to make changes to the site and items, etc.  the URL is   https://system.netsuite.com
I have other completely different login passwords and accounts for logging in at that URL.
The latest version of Safari constantly asks me if I want to use one of my checkout.netsuite.com  passwords every time I visit system.netsuite.com (which I have to do many times a day) I have to click   Deny  to each a every one of them, every time I visit the page. It's annoying as #$%@&.
The older system/Safari didn't do that. It kept checkout.netsuite.com passwords separate from system.netSuite.com passwords and never asked me to use one on the other. How can I get back to the old functioning so I can have peace of mind once again?
    Thanks
On a related note: Safari no longer saves passwords I create new at system.netsuite.com unless I first go into the Keychain and manually create a new password item. Is that normal, too, or do I have something set up incorrectly?

Contact your wireless provider, have them reset your password, and try again.

  • How to stop safari from saving my username on Facebook!?

OK, so on my Mac Book Air,
When I sign into facebook, it saves my username, not password. Like even when I clear history and sign out, and then lets say I wanna sign in again, my username is still there. I DO NOT WANT IT THERE. Like for example if someone comes to use my computer and types in facebook.com I do not want anything to be there on the username form. HELP
AND why I am so mad is because there is NOTHING I CAN DO .
I went to SAFARI > PREFERENCES > AUTOFILL FORMS and all the 3 boxes there are not selected...so now what further can I do..please this is making me so mad I am gonna return my laptop soon and get a microsoft one with internet explorer if no one one helps  me sorry i am new to macs and stuff so idk how to figure stuff out

That's Facebook using a cookie to store certain details & then insert them into the input field - you can avoid it by clearing facebook.com cookies in Safari - Preferences - Privacy - Details

  • How to stop Safari from freezing with Maverick??

I updated my late 2009 IMac with Maverick in late December.  It continues to get hung up in Safari after 2-3 webpages.  I have used Glims Unistall over and over again as suggested  in numerous posts to no avail I continue to get a frozen page in Safari.  I shut down, empty caches, reset Safari and nothing seems to work.  Wondering if Apple is going to have a permanent fix for this problem.  I don't think I am the only one.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • How do i stop Safari from freezing while i'm surfing the internet?

Ok, so here's the problem. Every time I go onto Safari, it doesn't respond after i search for something on google or go on Facebook. now, i have to use Safari in Safe Mode each time and the audio is disabled so i can't watch or listen to music videos. Can someone tell me how to stop Safari from doing this? Thanks.

Maybe try another browser like Firefox.
Also, try creating a new user account on your mac, and log in to that, to see if you continue to have the same problems.

  • How can I stop safari from showing my old entries in a drop down menu?

I want to make it clear that I am not talking about the url bar. I am refering to suggestions within a webpage where stuff is entered (for example online homeowork for college students). I cannot seem to figure out how to stop safari from filling in my old entries.
How can I get rid of this box?

Have you checked the Safari Preferences > AutoFill settings?  The Other forms setting is described as follows:
Let Safari save information you enter on webpage forms, then automatically fill in the saved information when you revisit the same webpages. To view or edit your saved information, click Edit.

How do I stop firefox from redirecting every page I click on in Google search? No matter what I search for in Google when I click on it Firefox redirects me to some other search, sales, or contest page. I have a security program running, no maleware, adware, or virus on my pc. Thanks for the help in advance.

Sounds like a dose of search redirect malware or a redirect virus.
Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficacy.<br />'''''(Not all programs detect the same Malware, so you may need to run them all to solve your problem.)''''' <br />These programs are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.<br />
''Note: If your Malware infection is bad enough and you are mis-directed to URL's other than what is posted, you may have to use a different PC to download these programs and use a USB stick to transfer them to the afflicted PC.''

  • How do I stop Safari from 'pinwheeling' whenever I am using Yahoo Mail? I really need a correct answer please.                                                                                             Mail? I need a correct answer please.

How do I stop Safari from 'pinwheeling' whenever I try to use Yahoo Mail?
I really need a correct answer please. Other answers have only suggested how to access Yahoo Mail without using Safari. I want to continue using Safari to access Yahoo Mail,if possible.  Thank you.

    Could be a cookie issue...
Go to Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab then click Show Cookies
Type yahoo in the serach field then click Remove All > Done
    Quit then relaunch Safari.
Try accessing your Yahoo mail account.
FYI... there is rarely a sure fire correct response for third party web based email client software. Often takes time consuming troubleshooting.

  • How to stop safari on ios7 from remembering history?

How to stop safari on ios7 from remembering history?
I hate to continually delete my history. Is there a way to stop it or set it to delete it on its own every day?

    Hey Bigchins!
I have an article here that can address your question for you. The feature you are looking for is called private browsing, and it is explained here:
To enable or disable Private Browsing, turn Private Browsing on or off.
Private Browsing in iOS 5 protects private information and blocks some websites from tracking your behavior. Safari doesn't remember the pages you visit, your search history, or your AutoFill information.
Note: While Private Browsing is enabled, the Safari bars appear black or dark instead of blue or gray.

    This indicates corrupt files.
    A restore should resolve.
