How to stop screen lock in maverick

My MacBook Pro running Maverick  sleeps even though I have set it to never sleep.
I think this may be related to the fact that the computer requires a password to awaken the computer.
This all means that if I am running a job that takes hours I can't leave my computer because once it sleeps it stops running the job (backing up files to the cloud).
I would like to remove the requirement of enterring the password.
I would like to control if and when the computer sleeps.
Can anyone help with these?
Thanks,

When slected off, did it prompt you for a password/pin to confirm?  Try this:
    1.  Turn it off.
    2.  Close the card and dont do anything else.
    3.  Immediately shut down the phone, hold down power button for the option.
    4.  Turn it back on.
Does turning screen off and on promp password again still?  If so, the next step will be to partial erase the device by going into device info and tap reset options.

  • How to reset screen lock passcode? (NANO 3RD GEN)

Just bought a Nano 3 gen from a friend, and turns out that he had entered a screen-lock password. I guessed (1234, 0000, 4321) but finally admitted defeat. I eventually asked him, but he didn't remember. I REALLY don't want to have to fully reset it, and sync all again. Any other options?
(It's not currently locked, but I want the feature.)
    Any help appreciated.

  • How To Stop Screen Rotating When Tilting

    That's the question...
How Do I Stop The Screen Rotating When Tilting?  Drives me nuts!

Try double clicking the Home button and on the bottom row of the screen go completly to the left past the mucic control and tap on the circle arrow.  That will lock the screen rotation.  This works for the 3 and 4 G iPods. There is no rotation lock for the earlier iPods.

  • How to remove Screen Lock Widget Android 5.0.2?

I think this problem may be specific to Android 5.0.2. because the instructions in the user manual no longer work.
I installed Extended Controls (great app/widget) and it seems to add it's widget to the lock screen (I have the widget on my Home screen but I added that myself). Anyway for some reason I ended up with two identical widgets on my lock screen and they take quite a bit of space. So I decided to remove one of them. I followed the instructions in the manual but found them impossible. I press and hold the widget but can't move it on it's own. It is very difficult to move at all and when it does everything else moves with it. Plus the upward swipe needed to get to the rubbish bin (which never appears anyway) unlocks the phone so I end up on my Home screen and the widget on the lock screen has not been removed.
How can I remove widgets from the lock screen?

    QUOTE from the user manual
To add a widget to the lock screen
1 From your Home screen, tap , then find and tap Settings > Security
2 Mark the Allow widgets on lock screen checkbox.
3 To lock the screen, press the power key.
4 To activate the screen, briefly press the power key.
5 Swipe inwards from the upper part of the screen until appears, then tap it.
6 If required, enter your PIN code, pattern or password to unlock the screen.
7 Find and tap the widget that you want to add.
8 Follow the on-screen instructions, if necessary, to finish adding the widget.
The items that appear when you tap are available by default and cannot be modified.
To remove a widget from the lock screen
1 To activate the screen, briefly press the power key .
2 Touch and hold the widget that you want to remove, then drag it to .
The camera icon at the bottom of the screen is there by default and cannot be removed.
This clearly says you can. As I said, it doesn't work. Why not? There's no Allow widgets.on lock screen either. Why not?

  • Monogame, how to stop screen orientation from changing

    Hi,
I am having a really annoying problem with mono game for windows 8 phone.
The landscape keeps changing its orientation even though I have it set to landscapeleft.
Someone please put me put of my misery.
    Xaml
    SupportedOrientations="Landscape"  Orientation="LandscapeLeft"
    Game cs
     graphics.SupportedOrientations = DisplayOrientation.LandscapeLeft;

    Hi Smilesprower,
How about the setting on your manifest? You have to check the supported rotations.
    Besides,
Supporting screen orientation is also a helpful documentation if you are using DirectX part for Mono games

  • [Solved] caffeine-ng does not stop screen lock

I installed caffeine-ng from AUR but it does not seem to work.  Whenever I'm playing my old NES games on higan the screen starts to go to sleep.  The caffeine icon is in my systray and it has the "steam" coming out the top indicating that it is working.   Any ideas?  Thanks.

Does this happen even if you're using keyboard or a controller or only when you're AFK for some time?
I can't help you with caffeine, but you can disable dpms and / or screen blanking in other ways.

  • Does any one know how to change how to set screen sharing in mavericks 10.9 to observe mode as default.

In ML 10.8 there was a choice and default could be set. Thanks.

Unless you backed up your data somewhere, it's gone.
There are programs like Disk Drill Pro that may find a few recoverable files, but after doing a clean install it's doubtful that much of the data could be recovered in any useful format. And the more you use your computer, the more data is overwritten.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • My iPad 2 only keeps a set number of emails for me to view eventually deleting from the screen. How do stop this as it syncs with my phone and mac book pro neither of which do this?

My iPad 2 only keeps a set number of emails for me to view eventually deleting from the screen. How do stop this as it syncs with my phone and mac book pro neither of which do this?

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
    Thanks

  • Detect screen lock on iOS to stop video broadcasting

I'm developing a video chat app and for technical and privacy reasons, the app must stop sending video when the phone is locked. The camera will stop working there anyway (getting back to the app shows a frozen video).
I'm using UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend, which works well for the home button, but how can I detect the screen lock?
With the camera not working when the phone is locked and the lock not being detectable, this would be a pretty big showstopper in general for video apps, but I haven't found a way to solve this.

    Hi blooblzr,
Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like the camera app stops responding. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
