How to STOP syncing with Outlook via GPRS?

I use an unlocked iPhone 3G with a prepaid mobile card.
Everytime I open my Calendar function on the iPhone (just to see the days and dates) the iPhone attempts to sync over the air with my Outlook account calendar via GPRS.
This costs a bomb on the prepaid card, and I want to stop the sync function.
Would someone kindly tell me how to STOP the iPhone from syncing with my Outlook Calendar?

If calendar events are synced over the air, this means you are accessing an Exchange account or a MobileMe account.
If you don't want to sync calendar events over the air with the account, you need to turn Calendars off for over the air syncing for the account preferences on your iPhone. This will erase all calendars and calendar events from your iPhone and you will need to sync direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process. If an Exchange account with Outlook on a Winblows PeeCee, this will not be possible.

  • Suddenly ICal & Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac

2 days ago, ICal and Address Book stopped syncing with Outlook for Mac 2011.  I still have full functionality of Email in Outlook.
What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Any solution here yet? I have the same issue. After upgrading to Yosemite Outlook for mac kept requiring me to "rebuild identity database"
I did this many times so there were many new identities.
Finally I researched and found out that after the Yosemite update outlook would rebuild identity and once you do that there is a mismatch of your email account in outlook which just needs to be deleted and re-added to fix.
Now since then my outlook contacts and apple address book do not speak to each other.
If I make a new contact on my iphone and sync with my mac it will appear in apple address book.
If I make a new contact in outlook it will not appear on the iPhone.
So the phone is communicating and syncing with apple address book but wherever the apple address book goes to find the outlook contacts it must be using one of the older "identities"
Also now when I am in outlook and go from email to contacts it takes about 20 seconds to open the 5,300 contacts and it used to be instant.
Is there a way to view where outlook is getting the data? When I go into Outlook Preferences, Sync Services, "On My Computer:" is the one that is chosen so that should be good.
    Any help?

  • My iphone calendar stopped syncing with outlook 7 thru the cloud. I clicked on tools, trust center, add ins. icloud add in had been disabled. I tried to re enable it but was told that this could only be done by administrator. I am the admin. Help????

My iphone calendar stopped syncing with outlook 7 thru the cloud. I clicked on outlook tools, trust center, add ins. I noted that icloud add in had been disabled. I tried to re enable it but got a message that this change could only be done by administrator. I am the administrator. Help???? Any ideas?

I do not believe this. I have been going nuts trying everything as in prior posts, and this has been a problem for users at least since 2010. I had this problem a long time ago and didn't pay too much attention to it because it was my iPad, and I depended on my BB a a base calander to feed Outlook. I became very concerned within the past week when I switched my BB to iPhone 5s, and was carrying both because I still needed to carry the BB for new calander enteries to sync up to Outlook 2007.
I had followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 and delete the apple s/w and re-installed. But according to the previous post, it appears that the issue was in the data - which was not deleted during all these deinstalls nor overridden with the new installs.
I am a XP user, so my files are in documents and settings/(username) both application data and \local settings\application data, but I also have safari and quicktime installed as well and didn't want to just blow entire high level folders if I didn't have to.
So I followed http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 then purged several apple folders in my windows profile and this definitely blew apple computer\preferences away. What I did was a little clumbsy, and desperate, but it worked. I am finally back in business.
However, I would like to see someone fine tune this and determine if it was just the preferences folder that needed to be deleted so that iTunes needed to rebuild it, or if there were other filoes that were apparently corrupted away, just to get this to the minimum number of steps to fix the issue.
BUT THANKS - This has been the most HELPFUL thread to get me syncing agai!!!!

  • Sync with Outlook via RDP?

We have been using a number of TS servers for our users to access Outlook and MS Office apps for years now.  However, recently, we have purchased and deployed about 50 Blackberries.  We use BIS to set up their pop3 Outlook accounts.
I'm trying to figure out a way for those users to add/sync their phones with Outlook to get their contacts/calendar.  Is this even possible?  They RDP in to the servers to access their Outlook accounts.  I found a thread in techarena about using BES express free version, but it was unclear whether it was free for just one user or up to 30 users.   Any ideas are appreciated!  Mostly the phones are Pearl flips and some and some Curve 8330s.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
With only BIS, one is natively restricted to email-only OTA. That is the way it is designed. There are all kinds of threads in these forums looking for ways to mimic ActiveSync capabilities via BIS, but I've yet to see anything that truly succeeds. BES is the RIM solution for achieving OTA sync of stuff beyond email.
BESX is the new capability for Exchange users to have nearly all the capabilities of BES, and for free (with limitations, of course...one gets what one pays for!). Here is the announcement article from these forums:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Announcements/Announcing-BlackBerry-Enterprise-Server-Express...
It has links to all kinds of other data, plus the BPS/BESX forum on this site is full of other chatter:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Professional-Software/bd-p/bps_unite
One caveat, however...do not expect to fully mimic ActiveSync under any circumstances. With BES/BESX, you will have OTA calendar and contacts fully synchronized. But, email will remain limited to new emails starting at the point of activation...none of the RIM solutions are designed to fully mirror the entire mailbox on the HH. There are tricks in BES to get some history, but I'm not sure if those even translate into BESX...plus they are limited as well and do not provide 100% (unless, of course, the users mailbox items are within the limitations for history).
    Good luck!

  • How do I sync with Outlook 2010 business contact manager

My Iphone will default to "contacts" in Outlook 2010.
All my contacts are in "Business Contact Manager", not "contacts".
How do I change to sync with BCM ?

You will need a 3 party software for that, something like this:

  • Calendar has stopped syncing with Outlook

After many successful months syncing my iPhone with my work Office Outlook calendar, it suddenly stopped working just over a week ago, though it still syncs my emails and contacts. Many colleagues are striking the same issue.
I have deleted and reainstalled the account, deleted hundreds of emails and restricted the syncing to just the past three months. Still no calendar.
Without my calendar, I might as well go back to a Blackberry, which - though I'm not a fan - never failed to sync my diary.
    Any suggestions?

The process of syncing Outlook calendar with Google Calendar is pretty much straightforward, in fact Google distributes a very small application that does just that. You only have to configure how you want to sync (one-way or both-ways) and how often. Then you simply "push" it from your iPhone, the system works in "listen mode" meaning that every change you make to the original calendar is automatically and instantly available on the other system.
I know it's not "the" solution, but for the time being it's the only work around.
    Take care.

  • Sync with Outlook ONLY for a specific date range

I have a Zire 31 that I'm syncing with Outlook via latest Palm Desktop/HotSync.   I did just install the latest conduit.
I was getting several repeating calendar entries that were not syncing with the Zire (annual birthdays, etc.) - turns out that they did not have an "end-date" specified when created in Outlook.  Creating an end-date solved the problem.
However - I would like to know if it is possible to specify a certain date range for the device to sync (e.g., sync calendar only for years 2007 through 2050, or in other words sync from 1 year ago to 50 years in future, etc...)
I recall specifying this once years ago, but I may have been using a third party to sync with Lotus Notes at the time.  I'm wondering if this option is also available with syncing directly with Outlook using HotSync???  I can't imagine it's not, but I can't find where you specify it.
One more interesting note:  while my Zire 31 had issues syncing those repeating calendar entries - my much older HandSpring Visor Deluxe syncs them no problem!  Go figure.
    Thanks much -
    Post relates to: Zire 31

I'm not actually looking to purge old items.
Rather - I would like to ONLY sync calendar entries between a specified range of dates.  For example - ONLY sync for calendar entries between Jan 1 2007 and Jan 1, 2050.
the problem is that I have some repeating entries (birthdays, etc.) that are set up in Outlook with no end date.  Apparently Palm/HotSync is having trouble syncing these (they don't show up at all - for any year.)
One resolution is to apply an end-date for each repeating calendar entry.  However, this is just another step my wife needs to remember to do.  If you happen to forget to to this, then Hotsync will ignore that entry.  Fine if you realize that's happening, but if you forget and forget to check - you won't even know it didn't sync!
The other possible resolution is to only have HotSync sync for a SPECIFIC date range - one that does not presumably go to infinity.  That is my question - how does one sync ONLY for a specific date range.  Has nothing to do with purging old entries.
    Thanks!!

  • 9320 not syncing with Outlook 2003

    Hi,
I've given up trying to get a calendar app that will display calendar and tasks logically like Touch Pro used to when it was possible to register it. Now the problem is my 9320 has stopped syncing with Outlook 2003, first it was tasks, then notes and now calendar items too, so I'm fast running out of a reason to use the thing.
As everything is getting more and more cloud based will it be possible to sync with the new Outlook calendar in Windows Live? Failing that can I make it talk to my offline Outlook calendar?
    Thanks,
    Craig

I don't think so for legacy (it works quite well with BB10)...legacy has a limited set of services with which Calendar/Contact sync can function OTA.

Lacking any further description than you provided (e.g., error messages), I can only suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Good luck!

Under accounts you have your local On My Mac account, which Apple supplies the ability to sync with google and yahoo. Then there is no way to sync it with icloud. When you add your icloud account as well you just have 2 seperate address books in the same app, with no way to keep them in sync.
    Do you mean like this?
I don't seem to be having any issue adding an iCloud account to address book.
