How to stop the Bridge Photodownloader open automatically??

If I connect my Sony e-reader to my Mac, the Bridge Photodownloader (the thing that opens when you plug a cardreader with card from my camera in the USB from my MacBook Air)) opens automatically and I can not transfer a book from my Mac to my e-reader. How can I stop Photodownloader open automatically.

Look in the Bridge preferences (Adobe Bridge CS6 / preferences) general section. Under behavior is a checkmark in front of the option: "when a camera is connected, Launch Adobe Photo Downloader"
uncheck it and you should be OK.
Your eReader, smart phone, tablet etc are all recognized as a camera when connected to the USB port, Hence the application starts itself.

How to stop the tab bar from automatically hiding itself?

ive only found how to stop the address bar from disappearing and everyone with the tab problem seems to have posted this over a week ago and still hasnt been fixed yet if noone has a fix im out and done with firefox they can suck a fat one
why add this feature! i can understand the address bar but not the tabs all you have to do to hide it was push the tab button again and its gone was that so fucking hard that you had ruin a perfectly fine browser

In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and facilitate future improvements to Firefox, the option to hide the tab bar was removed.
Fortunately, this can easily be resolved if you desire the keep tabs hidden. You can install "[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/hide-tab-bar-with-one-tab/ Hide tab bar with one tab]", an extension hosted on Mozilla's add-ons site, which will restore the ability to hide the tab bar.

How to Stop the Iview from Opening a New Window automatically

I have imported a BW roles that has 3 folders for different reports into the portal.
I would like the reports to display in a new window and have set the paramater "Launch in New Window" = "Display in New Window".
I have also set the parameter "Initial State Open or Closed" = "Close".
When I click on one of the tabs (represented by the role folder) the first report automatically opens in a new window.
I would only like this report to open when the user clicks on the report in the folder. Can anyone advise on any other setting that needs to be made?

Yes, the the Default Entry for Folder property is set to NO.
The first report in the folder still automatically launches a new window for the report.
There does not appear to be a setting "Clicking Folder Name Launches First Node" for the folder.
As a workaround I have created a page and added the following 2 settings.
1. Invisible in Navigation Areas = Yes.
2. Default entry for folder = Yes.
I would prefer to avoid this workaround so if anyone can provide any help it would be appreciated.

Click on whatever your using to display the video, whether it
be actual video footage embedded or your using an Adobe video
player component to display it while the footage is hosted
remotely.
Then go to the top toolbar dropdown Window > Component
Inspector.
If your video object is embedded on the stage, look in the
Component Inspector window, on the Parameters tab, there will be
options, one of them is autoPlay, set that to False.
If you are using one of Adobe's pre-built components to
display your video, click your player, and in the Component
Inspector there will be a checkbox labelled "Automatically Play",
uncheck that.

Can't figure out how to stop my MBP from opening programs at startup, namely word and messages

Recenty my MBPro has started opening MS Word and Messages at startup and I can't figure out how to stop it? I've tried selecting and de-selcting the startup option from the dock but this doesn't help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

In the Users & Groups section you will fine a "Login Items" header. This is a list of all the programs that will open automatically when you log in. You can select any program and click the [--] button below that window to stop the program from opening automatically.

By default Firefox opens a blank page for a new Tab, there is no setting to change that action without installing an add-on.

My process is pretty simple....with a message open I click the attach icon (paperclip) at the top of the message, then navigate to where the file is located and select it. hello Nitin1234, the handling of live bookmarks was changed quite fundamentally starting in firefox 13 & upwards in order to improve the overall performance of the browser - now rss feeds won't get updated in the background anymore but will only be fetched when you're actively accessing them. this is probably leading to the unwanted side-effect that you're experiencing, unfortunately i don't know any way around that.
nevertheless please [[Update Firefox to the latest version|update firefox to the latest version]] (16.0.1 at the moment) to stay secure on the web, since there have been many [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html highly critical vulnerabilities fixed] since firefox 11/13!

Hi there.
I listened to podcast there were two things I found that helped me out. Both we're in the podcast app itself.
Firstly change the default sorting order. When looking at the list off episodes a available on your ios device tap on the description part at the top, this will bring up the settings for that podcast (subscribe mark as played etc) scroll to the Bottom and select oldest first. This will mean that if you are listening to the latest download it will stop at the end as there will be no more to play.
Secondly, and useful if listening to older podcasts in the list, you can use the timer to stop once the current episode has ended. To do this when you are in the podcast playback screen slide the "album artwork" up, revealing the playback options and nifty tape playing animation this is where you adjust playback speed and set a timer. The timer has a number of options to set playback to stop after set amount of time. However one of these options is to stop once the current episode you are listening to ends. This can also be current chapter if the podcast you are listening to supports chapters.
