How to stop the output panel from displaying

Hi,
in CS5 (ancd CS3-4) how do I stop the "Output" panel from showing up automatically each time I test the movie using the Command+Enter keys? I know I have an error but it's a network error which does not effect my clip. it's annoying!

You can use F2 to close the output window. I dont think it can be stopped from displ

In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and facilitate future improvements to Firefox, the option to hide the tab bar was removed.
Fortunately, this can easily be resolved if you desire the keep tabs hidden. You can install "[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/hide-tab-bar-with-one-tab/ Hide tab bar with one tab]", an extension hosted on Mozilla's add-ons site, which will restore the ability to hide the tab bar.

With any marquee tool, JUST holding down the option key should not switch tools. You need to explain the problem much more carefully, It's completely impossible to tell from your description whats going wrong.

Your proflie indicates your Mac has v10.7.1 installed.
If that is the case, updating your system software will help as far as functionaly as well as security.

I looked at your post this morning and did not know enough to respond, other than to find out that links to iListen now go to newer, renamed software. Considering it's been nine hours with no response, I'm suspecting few people here have experience with that software. You could contact the current copmany that used to sell that package and see if they have any archived support info.
BTW: please check you entry for "Mac OS" in your profile. It says iOS, which cannot run on an iMac. iOS is the system for phone and iPads but can't run on Mac computers. Do "About this Mac" from the Apple menu and see what it says about the OS version. Should look like this:

I've installed Oracle Database 10g XE on my windows xp desktop.When ever my machine is getting starting oracle xe is taking a lot of time for startup.
I would like to disable the oracle xe from my startup , i can start up or stop the db anytime later using the links in start menu.
Can any one let me know how to disable oracle xe from startup.If it was any other normal programs i would have done that from the msconfig program->Startup.
Any suggesstions/solutions would be very helpful.

You don't need the IR receiver to be on to sync. Syncing is done through the network (a cabled connection or wireless network)
You can turn of your Mac's ability to respond to remotes:
1. Open System Preferences
2. Click Security under the Personal category
3. Check Disable remote control infrared receiver
If you want it to respond to a remote, instead of disable you can pair it with a single remote, and then it will only respond to that specific remote.

Since installing the Firefox update today, when I hit the keyboard Tab Key in the course of composing an email on gmail, it sends the (!unfinished!) message. I need to disable this "feature". How?

In the compose window if you hit tab you are tabbing through the buttons on the compose window. You have to hit space in order to sent the message. Please check to see if there is a feature in your gmail that is added to the default. Or see if there is an add on that has saved this feature. You can try safe mode to eliminate the add on theory [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]] and reset Firefox if it is a saved application preference.

How to Stop Large PDF attachments from displaying?

Using Leopard and large PDF attachments (9mb) slow Mail down to a crawl. Is there a way to stop attachments from automatically displaying in Mail. It can be all atachments, it does not have to be just PDF or a certain size.

I think it must be noted that Plain or Rich Text has no bearing on Mail's ability to View in Place. Nor does View in Place have any bearing on each attachment being a true attachment. Whether it is viewed Inline by the recipient will depend entirely on the recipients email client, and not how you send.
View in Place must not be confused with embedding images into text. The frequent discussion in these forums, and what you refer to, about whether to use Plain Text or RTF is relevant to some recipient email programs seeing inline attachments as embedded images due to the presence of the HTML that results from RTF when multiple fonts and attachments are present. The fact that the person composing sees the attachments with View in Place has no bearing on this issue involving HTML that results from RTF.
Choosing the View as Icon while you Compose has no bearing on how the recipient's email application displays it.
With those email clients where you can select to not view attachments inline, those you find viewing in place as you compose will in fact be seen as attached files in Icon form.
At my request, I was sent a test message with a JPEG prepared using Iconiser -- Mail still displayed the JPEG in the message with View in Place when received. However, an examination in Raw Source form showed the header to the attachment did not have the disposition as "Inline" as it normally would -- this would aid with some recipients, such as those using Lotus Notes, where the attempt to adhere to the inline quality causes problems. But Mail, and some other email clients, can still display the message with attached images with View in Place or Inline View. The use of Iconiser will not guarantee to change that.
As you have pointed out, zipping will prevent any form of View in Place from working.

How to stop the Selection Tool from selecting effects around objects?

This question is for Illustrator CS5.
I can't seem to figure out how to fix this problem. I vaguely recall finding a solution in CS4, but cannot recall how it was achieved:
Scenario: If I have a number of shapes on top of each other, with, for example, a drop shadow on the top shape, whenever I try and select the shape below it (it is peeking out from beneath the top shape, so I click on this 'peeking' section of the shape to try and select it) I cannot - it just selects the top shape as the top shape's drop shadow is 'blocking' the shape below it. Make sense?
How do I go about about remedying this? I seem to recall being able to tell Illustrator to ignore 'effects' when making selections in CS4, but cannot work out how to do this in CS5. And is there a way to refine the 'sensitivity' or selection radius when clicking to make selections?
Hopefully someone with the knowledge can please advise?

Couple way to solve this
CMD Click on the already selected top element, to select the element underneath.
You may have used the visiblilty eyeball in the appearance pallette to temporarily hide the drop shadow
You can use CMD 3 to hide selected top elements, make the change you need, then Opt CMD 3 to unhide
For #1 to work, don't click too fast, or else your clicks will register as a double click rather than a 2nd clikc (depending on what you have set in you Keyboard preferences).
I mention #3 cause this is a very useful tool for cleaning up and grouping complex documents, when you want to select multiple elements.

I went to keychain access and reset my default keychain ...
After a system reboot and some certificate reimports, everyting is now fine.
Maybe my key chain got messed up?
Anyway, a reste on the keychain worked a treat ...

After the iOS8 upgrade, every so often a pop-up message asking me for iCloud password shows out. The password I do not have.
The problem is that I never activate iCloud but my son did it with an ID different from mine.
I was told there are only two ways to resolve this problem:
Access the email account associated with the ID as in the typical "forgot password" procedure. Login iCloud and change the ID. However, I cannot access the email account and my son forgot it after he had his fun.
Provide the proof of purchase from two/three years ago.
The things bother me are:
Short time after my iphone purchase, I applied my apple id to get apps from the itune store. I used to believe this is only apple id I need and I can stay away from any apple service I do not need.
Why my son can activate the iCloud service without knowing the password to my apple id? When I purchased a free app, I had to provide my apple id/password. Why does a service that can lock my iphone require less?
I trusted Apple service to be simple and friendly. Why I as the original owner of the iphone can not remove the iCloud service unconditionally? Specially, I bought it thru my mobile service provider.

How to prevent the printed page from displaying when printing to pdf

I have Acrobat 7.0 Pro running on XP Pro. Immediately after I print an Excel, Word or text file to pdf, the pdf output automatically opens on my screen. Is there a way to turn this off? Thanks!
