How to store/access fonts and macros on flash DIMM

We print Change Checks on network shared HP printers for various clients.
We store two or three macros (check images) and two fonts (MICR and secure) on an HP printer. We have done so for the HP 4050 N and some 8050 and 9050 printers in the past. All of the printers have had flash DIMM installed.
We used Web JetAdmin 8.1 SP(5) to load the fonts and macros to the flash DIMMs.
We do not want to install fonts and macros on all the pc’s that do the check printing for security and distribution reasons.
The question is, what is the “new way” of doing this on the currently offered HP printers? (printer models and HP download maintenance software)

Hello. Although I am an HP employee, I speak for myself. You mention that you use WJA 8.1 which is old software. But then you also mention you want to know the new way of loading fonts. I will assume, therefore that you will be using a version of WJA 10.x.
Here is a basic way to modify it for a single device in WJA. It can also be modified for multiple devices simultaneously using WJA, but here we cover the simple use case.
1. Select the printer you'd like to load the fonts on in WJA.
2. Go to the storage tab at the bottom of the screen.
3. Where it says "View" click the drop down arrow and select Fonts and Macros
4. Highlight the printer again.
5. Click Install
6. You will then be given the choice of which fonts and macros to install
7. Continue following the wizard until you are finished.
You may wonder where WJA looks for the fonts and macros available in step 6. You can load them from your pc into the repository found under the "Solutions" tree on the left.

If it's a Mac font and you're on Windows, you can't. If you are also on a Mac, you'll need to purchase the fonts (fonts are generally non-transferable, like software. One of the reasons pdf exists), install them and try your edits.
But it's best to edit the original document and create a new pdf when finished.

If you want to change the font and color in a message you're composing, you can right-click on the message and use the Font/Show Fonts command to bring up the Font panel (among other ways).

Although my fonts seem to be installed correctly, I often get a message when I try to use a new font that says "font not available for use in Microsoft Word," or some such. How can I make installed fonts available for Word? (By the way, this was true with earlier versions of OS 10.4, as well.)

Fonts you download or otherwise acquire as font files should be placed in the Fonts folder in your Library or in the Fonts folder in the global Library. Having been placed there, the Mac OS knows what to do and there's nothing more for you to do.
However, if you add fonts to the Fonts folder while an application is running...well the OS is supposed to let the program know about that and the program is supposed to gracefully accept them but it doesn't always work that way. I've never seen the error you mention but I can imagine it occurring if you've just added a font and the program was running. Just quit and restart the program.
Having said that, some programs, Word included, prebuild font lists to enable faster loading times. I can also imagine Word's font list becoming corrupt (which happens all too frequently) which might cause your error message. The fix is to delete the font cache file. (found in the ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache)

When resizing the window in Mac the font and graphic size do not follow -- they stay the same size and only more "white space" is created by increasing the window size. You can select to zoom the full page or only the text: View > Zoom > Zoom Text Only<br />
Firefox 3 can remember the zoom level site specific.

How do I save a font and it's size and color in a text box as a default

I am using Adobe Acrobat XI for Mac and can't figure out how to set a default font for text boxes. I don't seem to be able to access the properties to set the default by highlighting a properly formatted text box and pressing ctrl-e. Is there another key combination for Mac? Or another method for setting defaults? I'm finding I have to set the font, size and color every time I open a new Acrobat doc and want to add a text box. Also, the choices are not even saving with the document. The fonts already typed save correctly, but on reopening, I have to reset if I want to add more text.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've got a Logitech G700S Mouse with a right click button, so right-clicking isn't an issue. Unfortunately, the I can't seem to find the menu to "Use Current Properties as New Defaults." I may not have described the problem correctly.
I am adding text to a pre-existing pdf document, not creating a form. I would like to be able to set a default font, size and color for text, so that when I enter text in a text box onto the pdf document, it has those properties. If I select the text box that is properly formatted (not the text, but the box) and right click, the only choices I get are:
Cut
Copy
Delete
Select All
Deselect All
Arrange>
Edit Using>
So I gues my question is if one can even format a text box as a default or a "style" or the like. I tried setting a default font, size and color for "comments" also in the Acrobat preferences, but even that didn't seem to stick when I opened a new doc. This all may just be a Mac / Mavericks interaction flaw. Anybody have any other ideas?

I am using an existing PDF as a template to build my form in designer.
I am dragging my objects from the schema window to the form and when I drop it on the form it is way too big - so for every field I do this with I am left to resize and reset the font to every bound object i drop on the page!
Is there a way to set the default font and the default dimensions of the bound text boxes I am droping on the PDF form page?

You will need to apply the Apple iWork 9.3 updater afterwards to bring these applications to their n.3 (e.g. Pages '09 v4.3) last versions. You will have an /Applications/iWork '09 folder afterwards.
I would also launch /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utilities, select your boot drive, and verify/repair permissions — just to be on the safe side for the newly added iWork '09 applicaitons.

I am not sure how to store images in database but what you can do is store the image into particular folder using FileOutputStream and its unique name into the database...and than retrieve it from the folder using that name retrieved from database...

I would like to change the font and font size of my blog. How can I do that so that it stays that way for each new post?

I can't seem to find a way to change the font in the main blog page in iWeb itself... So that's how iWeb blogs normally behave... They don't take the font settings you put in in the entry and they display only one image.
The first (main) Blog page is thought of being an index page and not an actual page where people read the whole post. It's just a page that shows people how many and which entries there are. Then people choose to read the entry by clicking on it.
You might think of reducing the size of the pictures and the length of the text excerpts. So that people click to read more and see the whole entry with all images.
If you don't like the idea of the index blog page and people going into the entry to read you might think of using something else than iWeb to blog...

How do I remove all fonts and just set them to factory?

I have three computers that all have had free fonts added by an employee. They just keep multiplying and are up to nearly 1500 fonts now. When I try to open excel it tells me certain fonts are corrupt. I just want to remove all of them and start over with a legit font program. Any suggestions?

They shouldn't have added any fonts to the /System/Library/Fonts/ folder (though they could have), so they should all be in one of two folders.
1) Empty out the /Library/Fonts/ folder.
2) Empty out the ~/Library/Fonts/ folder (the tilde means the current logged in user account).
