Hi,
In WD4A
Check out the mehtod in IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE-
TO_XML returns the string about the context.

  • How to store the data of a file into an ArrayList?

    Hi! everyone.
    I want to know
    if I have a File, and the data in the file are type int, type String...
    And I have a ArrayList which is of type Question
    How do I store the data of that file into the ArrayList
    I tried to use the while loop(use the hasNextLine() to read the data line by line)
    But I cannot add data which are not of type Question to the ArrayList.
    Can you tell me what I should do, please?
    I also wonder that
    The data of the file are of many types, but when I try to read it with the nextLine(), the data all turn out to be of type String. Why?
    Thank you.
    Edited by: Terry001 on Apr 30, 2008 1:13 PM

    No, a line in the file is just part of a question
    The format of the file is like this:
    *<question type code>                    :     String*
    *<question point value>                    :     int*
    *<question category>                         :     String*
    *<question difficulty level>               :     int*
    *<question text>                              :     String*
    *<question correct answer>               :     String*
    *<optional question-specific data>     :     String*
    *<question terminator>                    :     String*
    And here is an example
    TF //TrueFalseQuestion
    5 //points value
    None //category
    3 //difficulty level
    The capital of the United States is Washington, D.C. //question text
    True // answer
    *** //quetion terminator
    I created an ArrayList in the Test class:
    private ArrayList<Question> questions; // Create inside constructor
        public Test (String name, String instr)
            testName = name;
            scoreEarned = 0;
            scorePossible = 0;
            instructions = instr;
            questions = new ArrayList<Question>(); //[MAX_NUMBER_OF_QUESTIONS];
        }And I tried to use the following method to store the data of the file to the ArrayList
    // This method loads a set of questions from a plain text file
        public void loadQuestionsFromFile(String fileName) throws FileNotFoundException
            try
                File fileReader = new File("input.txt");
                Scanner sc = new Scanner(fileReader);
                while (sc.hasNextLine())
                    // I don't know how to pass the data I got from the nextLine() method to the ArrayList because they are of different type
            catch (FileNotFoundException a)
                System.out.println(a);
        }    As all you said, I should create an Question object in the while loop
    Question temp = new Question ();But I have no idea how to pass the int and String to the Question object.
    Thank you

  • How to store context data into a database table?

    Hi All,
      I am very new to Web Dynpro ABAP.
    I am trying to store context data into database table. For this i need to write some code.
    I have created one context attribute to store data and i have one database table.
    Know i want to store that context attribute's data into database table.
    Can anyone provide me necessary code to do this.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Regards,
    Sreelakshmi.

    Hello Sreelakshmi,
    i think there would be some button and when u click that, the data of the context need to get saved into the database.
    For the button,create an action.
    in the action handler write the following code.
    DATA lo_nd_kna1 TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
    DATA lo_el_kna1 TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
    DATA lt_kna1 TYPE wd_this->elements_znode.
    DATA ls_kna1 TYPE wd_this->element_znode.
    lo_nd_kna1 = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_znode ).
    lo_el_kna1 = lo_nd_kna1->get_element(  ).
      lo_el_kna1->get_static_attributes( IMPORTING static_attributes = ls_kna1 ).
    modify kna1 from ls_kna1.

    Hello,
    many thanks for the reply. Your examples are very usefull for me.
    To answer your questions.
    An XML structure:
    /etd
        /header - repeat in each row in output
        /account_group/account
            /invoice
                /da - repeat for each details under "selected "invoice
                /detaildc/dc - the lowest level
                /detaildn/dn - the lowest level
                /dt - repeat for each details under "selected "invoice
        /footer - repeat in each row in outputI would like to to have a 1 row for each "record" in /detaildc section and include related nodes at higher levels.
    Please see below XML file, which is simplified file of example in first post, but includes a complete xml structure which needs to be queried in db.

  • How to display the data in XML files into JSP using Jdeveloper.

    Hi All,
    I have two XML files one XML file has the view names and the other has the table names of a particular views, how to display the data in JSP using JDeveloper where when i click a particular view the list of tables of that particular view from XML file two should be displayed in JSP Page.
    Are there any reference documents, regarding the above process please can anyone guide through how to do it.

    Let the servlet ask your business tier to provide the data, then stuff it into beans, and pack those into the Session instance. Then forward the request to the JSP, let the JSP get those beans and display them.

  • How to read/interpret data in xml files

    When I try to print the node name, all I get is: "#test" except for the node ARTICLE, which happens to be the root node. My requirement is that I need the node name (TITLE, SYNOPSIS, DESCRIPTION ..etc) and be able to associate the content in other areas of my larger program. I tried almost all the methods of the class org.w3c.dom.Node, but without luck.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.
    - Sharma

    When I try to print the node name, all I get is: "#test"I think if you look more carefully you'll see it really says "#text". That's the "name" of a text node, of which you have a lot there. Also, if a node has children then you aren't printing its name, that's why you miss most of your elements.

  • How to store my data in a file?

    I Get my data in several indicators. I need to store them in a file

    Pushpa,
    You should use VIs from the File I/O palette to save the data to your hard disk.
    You can also look into /examples/file VIs for additional help on how to save to different file types.
    In the feature, you should post the pure LabVIEW related questions to the LabVIEW forum.

  • How-to use Excel for the XML file input?

    Hello all,
    Following our discussion with Gerhard Steinhuber on the very nice tutorial from Horst Schaude , "How to upload mass data via XML File Input" , I am starting this new discussion.
    In the comments section of this previous cited tutorial, Rufat Gadirov explains how to use a generated XML from Eclipse instead of your XSD file as your source in Excel.
    However, in spite of all the instructions, I am still facing the same issue in Excel when I try to save my file as XML : "The XML maps in this workbook are not exportable".
    What I try to do is to create one or more Sales Orders with multiple Items in it from a XML File Input, using excel to enter data.
    The part with the File input is working (if I directly upload my file to the webDAV, it creates a sales order instance with multiple items).
    The only missing part is the Excel data input that I cannot make work. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Here is my XML file that I try to use as a source in Excel before inputing data from Excel:

    Hello Jacques-Antoine,
    I suppose that as you have tried to construct a map from the schema, you have taken the elements from the List level down. In this case I also can't export the map.
    But if you take the elements from the level MySalesOrderUploaded down, you'll get the exportable map (screenshots)

    PL/SQL Procedure:which i'm trying to execute from SQLDeveloper
    create or replace
    PROCEDURE TRIAL AS

    END;
    dbms_output.put_line(charString);
    if finalStr is not null then
    finalStr := finalStr || charString;
    else
    finalStr := charString;

    dbms_output.put_line('INSERT DONE '||TO_CHAR(rowsp));
    DBMS_XMLStore.closeContext(insCtx);
    END;
    END TRIAL;
    For the first time when i complied i got the errors as :
    Procedure RIDB.PROCEDURE1@RIDB

    So i logged in as sys & grant the permission to execute on UTL_FILE to ridb (user):
    SQL Statement:
    grant execute on utl_file to ridb
    So, it got compiled successfully but when i execute it gives me error as:
    Source does not have a runnable target.
    What does this mean?
    So I browse through forum & i got to know that i need to initial the UTL_FILE_DIR ="C:/OracleProject" in init.ora
    So can i edit the init.ora with notepad.When i tried to do that it says permission denied
    In my system it shows the init.ora file in path C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts
    but there is also other file initXETemp in the same path do i need to do the changes in it.
    I have tried even editing the SPFILE as mentioned below:
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\dbs\SPFILEEXE - I had edit this file using notepad & set the value of UTL_FILE_DIR ="C:/OracleProject". So next time when i restarted i'm unable to log on to the database.
    So i had reinstall the software again.
    Could you please let me know how to proceed..

    hi,
    I have created the directory from sys database
    CREATE or replace DIRECTORY XML_DIR2 AS 'C:\OracleProject';
    & grant read,write access to the user
    grant read,write on directory XML_DIR2 to RIDB;
    & i had change the tag name in the xml file as shown below:
    <?xml version = '1.0'?>
    <metadata>
    <Zipcodes>
    <mappings Record="4">
    <STABBRE>CA</STABBRE>
    <ZIPCODE>94301</ZIPCODE>
    </mappings>
    <mappings Record="5">
    <STABBRE>CO</STABBRE>
    <ZIPCODE>80323</ZIPCODE>
    <ZIPCODEEXT>9277</ZIPCODEEXT>
    </mappings>
    </Zipcodes>
    </metadata>
    TRIALZIPCODE table as shown below:
    CREATE TABLE "RIDB"."TRIALZIPCODE"
    (     "STABBRE" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE),
         "ZIPCODE" NUMBER(*,6) NOT NULL ENABLE,
         "ZIPCODEEXT" NUMBER

    PCTINCREASE 0 FREELISTS 1 FREELIST GROUPS 1 BUFFER_POOL DEFAULT)
    TABLESPACE "USERS" ;
    I have tried two methods as shown below:
    Procedure 1:
    create or replace
    PROCEDURE TRIAL_V2 AS
    BEGIN
    DECLARE
    -- declare attributes
    charString varchar2(80);
    finalStr varchar2(4000) := null;

    v_FileHandle UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;
    l_context_handle dbms_xmlgen.ctxHandle;
    insCtx DBMS_XMLStore.ctxType;
    cnt NUMBER;
    xmldoc xmltype := xmltype( bfilename('XML_DIR2','trialxml.xml'), nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8') );
    --XML_DIR VARCHAR2(40) := 'C:\\OracleProject';
    BEGIN
    insCtx := DBMS_XMLStore.newContext('DEV.TRIALZIPCODES');
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdateColumn(insCtx, 'STABBRE');
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdateColumn(insCtx, 'ZIPCODE');
    DBMS_XMLStore.setUpdatecolumn(insCtx, 'ZIPCODEEXT');
    DBMS_XMLStore.setRowTag(insCtx, 'mappings');
    cnt := DBMS_XMLStore.insertXML(insCtx, xmldoc);
    DBMS_XMLStore.closeContext(insCtx);
    END;
    Procedure 1 was compiled with out errors but when i execute i got the error as :
    Source does not have a runnable target.
    Procedure 2_
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE TRIAL_V3 AS
    BEGIN

    --XML_DIR VARCHAR2(40) := 'C:\\OracleProject';
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO trialzipcode (STABBRE, ZIPCODE, ZIPCODEEXT)
    SELECT extractvalue(x.column_value, 'mappings/STABBRE'),
    extractvalue(x.column_value, 'mappings/ZIPCODE'),
    extractvalue(x.column_value, 'mappings/ZIPCODEEXT')
    FROM TABLE(

    'metadata/Zipcodes/mappings'
    ) x
    END;
    END TRIAL_V3;
    Procedure 2 was complied without errors but when i execute i got the error as:
