How to store meeting invitation in my iCal

When I receive certain meeting invitations on my iPhone I cannot select my linked Google Calendar as the calendar to store the appointment. I do only have the choice between the internal calendars that come with iOS.

What I have been doing is exporting documents to PDF's on my PC in Open Office and emial them to myself. I create a lot of ads, fliers and other content on my PC then transfer the content to my iPad though email. I have yet to find a PDF that I cannot choose to open in iBooks which automatically saves it in my library.

  • How to send meeting invites using Exchange Email Account

Does anybody know how to send meeting invitations using the 3.0 software update?
My corporate email is set up with an Exchange ActiveSync account, but I can't figure out how to send meeting invites?
Is it a function solely of the iPhone 3.0 OS, or is it dependent on the Exchange setup.
    Any insight would be appreciated.

  • In ical, how can you tell the difference between a meeting invite and email?

When you send a meeting invite in ical, does the recipient receive a different icon in their inbox to differentiate from an email?

For service stock you can't tell the difference between a new iPad and a refurbished one. Both will come in a plain brown box with the same pattern in model numbers. If you mean between a refurbished one and one new at retail, then other than the obvious difference in packaging, I've read that the model number on refurbished units starts with the letter "F", though I've not confirmed that.
    Regards.

  • HT2513 How do you forward a meeting invite in ical?

In Outlook, you can forward a meeting invite,I can't seem to find the function in ical.  Can anyone help?

    Possibly,
Looking at iCal version 4, open iCal Help, and after being connected to the server, you will see 'Inviting Guests to an event'. Click on that for information, and also at the bottom of that window in Related topics, is the topic, 'Setting your email address so you can send or modify your event invitations'. That link may also be useful.

  • ICal, iCloud, and meeting invitation woes

Hi all. Fair warning - I'm brand new to the Mac world. I'm a long-time Windows user who now has a shiny new MacBook Pro, primarily for the benefit of what I can already tell is superior hardware.
On the software side, however, I'm struggling with the migration. I've solved most of my issues, but one is really eluding me. I have Office 2011, including Outlook, but I keep being told by Mac users that Outlook on the Mac is buggy and is inferior to using iCal, Apple Mail, and Address Book. Ok, I'll bite. I've been trying to use these tools as my primary means for handling my mail and calendar needs. This is where I run into trouble.
My world of data, like most people's, is split into two:  work and personal. For personal, I primarly use google tools including google calendar and gmail. For work, I have an IMAP mail system with a work e-mail account, but we have no work-based calendar server. I have an iPad2 and an iPhone4. This is all relevant because what I want is to have mail and events, both work and personal, synchronized and accessible across all my devices over "the cloud." The personal side is easy enough to handle. I added my google calendar to iCal, just like I added it on my phone and iPad, so no worries there. E-mail, similarly, is simple enough. The issue is when I try to figure out how to handle my work calendar.
My first thought was iCloud - but my Apple ID, used by iCloud is based on my personal e-mail account (gmail). I've found that when I try to add an event to my iCloud "work" calendar in iCal and invite attendees (a very very common practice in my business world), the invitation comes from my gmail account and my gmail account is listed as the organizer of the event. This is a huge problem for me. In searching online, people suggest all sorts of different ways of solving this. Re-ordering the e-mail addresses on the "Me" contact card in Address Book. Re-ordering the accounts in Mail. I even went as far as deleting my gmail account from both Mail and Address Book. Nothing works. I'm assuming that because the event is created in iCloud, that the organizer is set to the Apple ID that is associated with the iCloud account, and there seems to be nothing I can do about that.
My second thought was to create another Apple ID and use that one to create a new iCloud calendar for my work life, but I'm under the impression that you can't have more than one iCloud account actively syncing on an iPhone or iPad.
My current solution is to have a calendar that is only "On My Mac" that I create work events on. I've found that if I have Mail set to send new messages, by default, from my work e-mail address, then new meeting invitations on the Mac-only calendar are sent on behalf of my work account, with my work account listed as the organizer. This solution, while working on the Mac itself, does not solve my synchronization issues with my iPhone and iPad. I suppose I could sync through iTunes, but my calendar is so active that I'd really prefer to have a cloud-based solution.
All that being said - is there a cloud-based solution to having both a personal and work calendar, with each calendar being associated with different e-mail addresses? Is there any way to change the e-mail account associated with a specific calendar in either iCal or iCloud? If not, there probably should be!
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello there.
Exact same situation here. Do you have a solution yet? Also for me its not acceptable to send meeting invitations from my personal account which is also my apple id...

  • Calendar Meeting Invite from Outlook 2010 to iCal

    Hello,
I am very VERY new to Macs and to be honest Calendar invites in general (Came from a Lotus Domino environment). I have come across an oddity that I am almost sure is related to the content of the .ICS file generated by Outlook and then sent to a mail user who uses an Apple Max OS X 10.7.3. (our Managing Director). It has resulted in me (IT for the company) buying an Apple Mac to try and troubleshoot. Sorrry for the Blurb
    Working Scenario is
    1. Use a Google email account and the Web interface to send a meeting invite to another Google homed account and that person uses a Mac as described.
    2. Invite arrives and is automatically available in iCal with a tentative meeting (grey) event PLUS the notification panel in iCal showing an alert.
    3. The notification Panel alert can then be used to Accept/decline the invite.
For the MD this is how he wants to work. As he gets numerous invites he can quickly scan down the notification alerts and access/decline as he goes. Rather than opening all of the email messages.
    Failing Scenario is
    1. Use an Outlook 2010 client to send the exact same invite to the same person at the same time (etc.)
    2. Invite arrives in the Mac mail Box. BUT DOES NOT trigger iCal's notification panel
    3. The Mac User needs to click on the attached .ICS file and if iCal is also visible you can see the notification alert appear
I have TextEdited both .ICS files and yes they are different. The general VCALENDAR elements are roughly the same but there differences with bits and pieces that a too numerous to mention. There is also all of the garbage with X- elements which I would think iCal will ignore anyway. I have tried hacking the failing .ICS when it arrives but that doesn't mimic the same type of flow and in the end I can't modify the .ICS files either as they are sent or arrive.
Yes, I have told the Outlook client to send using the iCalendar format for external recipients.
I was wondering if anyone had come across the same type of requirement or the same type of issue?
    thanks in advance
    Bruce.

I had the identical problem.  I still don't know how to sync the tasks, but here's how I did the contacts and calendar:
    1.  Connect the 4s to the computer.
    2.  Open iTunes.
    3.  Click the iPhone box in the upper right corner.
    4.  Click on the info tab.
    5.  Hit the checkbox Sync Contacts with... and choose Outlook from the dropdown box.
    6.  Ditto for Calendars.
    7.  Hit Apply.
My problem was that originally, I wasn't getting the checkboxes.  I turned off the iCloud settings on the 4s.  That did the trick.

  • ICal Crashes When Sending Meeting Invite/Reply

iCal is otherwise functioning normally, but when you send out the meeting invite to the attendees, iCal immediatedly quits. The same happens when you attempt to confirm or deny a meeting invite from another person. The usual iCal fixes I have used in the past don't seem to be working.
    I have:
    Reset the iSync History
Blown out the Application Support data
    iCal Plist
    dumped launchservices.plist
Tested with another local user- it did work (as usual)
    1.67Ghz 17" AlBook   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Starting the problem trace at the beginning, the
invitations are being sent from people in your
Address Book, correct? I ask this because a client of
mine was getting messages from an alternate address
(billb@ and not bill@) and these were getting skipped
(not sent to iCal) because billb@ was not a
    registered Address Book entry.
The fast way to tell is look at the mail and see if
there is a green dot to the left of the message.
I'm still not to the point of recommending an iCal
reinstall, though. There are a few other things that
    it could be.
So, the sender of the message is in my address book as "[email protected]".
I also have the Exchange LDAP store configured in Address Book, and the sender is resolvable there as "[email protected]".
The message is sent from their machine via Outlook and Exchange. On the invitation, the senders address appears as shown in LDAP.
The recipient (myself) is as their client resolved from the Exchange server, so "[email protected]". The first entry on my "me" card is "[email protected]".
I see no "green dot" next to any email.
At the moment, though, automatic transfer of the invitation is less important than elimination of the Address Book crashes. However, I do appreciate the help -- any more ideas?

  • Force CalDAV calendar in iCal to send meeting invites via Mail

A handful of people are experiencing issues sending out meeting invite emails via a Google Apps (CalDAV) calendar that is setup in iCal. Meetings are showing up on invitees calendars, but they are not receiving email notifications about them.
Thread on that topic here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=368ec40a6bdd7bb8&hl=en
    and here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2707217&tstart=0
*So, my question is this*: Is there a way to force Mail.app to send out a meeting invitation of a CalDAV calendar that is setup in iCal, instead of using whatever system the CalDAV calendar uses (in my specific case, Google Apps). My assumption is that iCal uses the Mail.applescript or Mail.scpt file that is inside the iCal package (iCal > Show Package Contents > Resources > Mail.applescript) when sending out an invite from a local calendar. Any way to force a CalDAV calendar to use that script?

    I had that problem too.
I changed my mail preferences "Add invitations to iCal" from Automatically to Never and that seems to work for me.
    Hope that helps

  • Meeting invites no longer show in the notifications pane of iCal

I have been using Snow Leopard since it was released to the public and after a recent update I noticed that I could never see the Exchange meeting invites in the notifications pane. When I looked closer I saw that all the meeting invites were automatically added to the calendar, but they were colored grey (indicating that I had not yet accepted them).
I have searched the web for a solution, but there was just one entry of a similar problem, no solution though. I backed up the plist files for iCal and deleted the ones in System-Winson-Library-Prefrences
as well as the Cache entries for iCal.
Restarted iCal and got a colleague to send another meeting invite to my Microsoft Exchange Calendar. And the issue was still there.
There is no issue though with my iPhone which syncs with the same Exchange Calendar. I get to see the event notification.
I am totally lost and would appreciate help in this regard. This has been driving me bonkers all week!

Looks like 10.6.3 update solves this
    iCal fixes provided for:
changing the invitation list for a single instance of a recurring event will no longer "un-book" the location of the meeting.
an issue in which new invitations on a Microsoft Exchange server might not appear in the Notification pane.
properly showing recurring Microsoft Exchange events which have a set end date. For details, see this article.
