How to store my iTunes on my airport
How do I store my iTunes on my airport time capsule? I baffled.
iTunes is basically comprised of two elements: 1) iTunes Library, & 2) iTunes Media Folder. Both are required but both don't necessarily have to be located on the same hard drive.
So with that do you want to move your entire iTunes folder or just the Library or just the Media Folder to the Time Capsule?
Assuming that you want both to be moved you would just need to copy the entire iTunes folder located at: ~\Music\Tunes to the Time Capsule's internal drive. Then when you run iTunes, first hold down the Option key before clicking on iTunes. iTunes will then give you an opportunity to tell it where the iTunes folder is located that you want to open. Just select the iTunes folder that you just copied to the Time Capsule. Once you verified that everything is working properly you can delete your iTunes folder on your Mac.
Note: If you use Time Machine it will NOT be able to back up the iTunes folder located on the Time Capsule.

I can not store all my Music on my internal Macbook pro hard drive so I am storing it on a large external drive connected to my airport extreme (2 TB drive plugged into the USB port). I see the drive on my laptop and I can add and delete files no problem. How do I get Itunes to search for the music here with out trying to copy it to my laptop's hard drive? How did you move the music to the external drive? What exactly is on the drive? The entire iTunes folder or only music? If it is the entire iTunes folder you can do the option+start suggestion earlier. Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
Notes:
1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist. -

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. How can I view my full billing history for the app and music stores without iTunes installed?
I just received an email receipt from Paypal showing a $12.99 purchase from iTunes. I almost NEVER purchase anything over around five dollars in the app or music store. Since PayPal does not show what this purchase was for, I have not received the receipt from Apple yet, and I cannot find anyway to look up online what this purchase was for....I need help to find out ASAP what this purchase was. If my account has been compromised or if I have been incorrectly charged for something, I would like to get the issue handled immediately. I do not want to install iTunes on my PC (nor should I have to for Pete's sake), but I cannot see anything recent at all in my app or music history on my iPad (not that I would ever purchase anything for $12.99 anyway...I just don't). If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?

I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

How do I block this msg from always popping up "iTunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the iTunes Store within iTunes. Use Software Update to download and install the latest version of Safari". I cannot download this software bc my lap top is to old. Before I sold my friend my old iMac, I used the Migration Assistant to transfer all her files from her MacBook Pro to the iMac. I then deleted all my files. My old iMac and her MacBook Pro were both upgrated to Mavericks before the Migration.
Now, she is being prompted to download and install the updates for Numbers and Pages on what used to be my iMac, but the App Store displays my account identification and asks for my password.

Thanks in advance.That isn't how to prepare a Mac to sell or give away. You should deauthorize your iTunes account on the Mac. Call Apple Care and have the Mac disassociated from your Apple ID. Then erase the Mac and install the latest version of OS X that shipped installed on the Mac using the Install DVD or OS X Recovery, depending on what version shipped on the Mac. Until you do this, the Mac, OS X and the iLife apps belong to you. She will need to buy the iWork apps for herself, using her own account. You cannot pass any apps that you bought on to her, that would be piracy.

I have the same problem! Let me know if you manage to sort it out. My iPad did the same thing but to full restore from iTunes sorted that out. Have you tried that? No such luck with my iPhone.
