How to stream netflix with iOS 7

Since updating to Apple iOS 7 I am unable to stream movies on my tv. Could use some advise please.

I just switched from 10.9 to 10.10 and my apple display 2006 isn't supported anymore for streaming Netflix, probably due to some HDCP issues.

Already found a solution.
Apparently it is the HTML5/DHCP in Yosemite which causes the problem.
In Netflix preferences I unchecked HTML5, so it plays now on Silverlight.
That did the trick, I can use both my MBP screen and the Apple display again while streaming Netflix.
Easy fix.

How to sync notes with iOS 4.2.1?

since iTunes was updated I miss the possibility to sync notes between my Mac and my iPod Touch 2G with iOS 4.2.1. The function disappeared from iTunes. How can I sync my notes without iCloud (because iOS 4.2.1 does not have iCloud)?

It is Mac OS 10.8.3 and of course I read the information provided by Apple. Unfortunately, Apple has forgotten their users with older devices. The information provided are not applicable for iOS 4.2.1. There aren't any switches to activate note syncing. What now? I urgently need my notes and emailing is not the solution.

I am having trouble streaming Netflix on my iMac. I can check my account, peruse movies, but if I prompt to watch a film I'm asked to load Silverlight, the Microsoft application. That does not install on my iMac. Suggestions?

Nevermind. I only tried to load it with Snow Lepoard, but after loading Lion I was able to install Silverlight and stream.

i believe it will play with the hdmi cable and all the out put cables
but not 100 % sure about HD video, i would imagine so, its so hard to find real hd video on netflix, computer hd content can be different from set top box hd content.
the one thing that netfix won't do is play over airplay they won't support it

How fast Iphone 5 with ios 8.0.2 ?

I have IPhone 5 and It was working great with ios 7 ( The fastest I have ever experienced). By mistake I upgraded to ios 8 and it's noticeably slower than 7.
Now, Apple claims that they solved all problems with ios 8 but I am reluctant to update it to 8.0.2. I do not want to slow my IPhone 5 even more.
Will it make my Iphone 5 return again to it's fast speed as it was before with ios 7?

I updated to ios 8.0.2. It's slower than ios 7 and even ios 8.1. My phone was excellent on ios 7 and I got some problems with ios 8.0.1 which I solved by resetting all setting and everything goes ok and it was running fine.
Now, It's slower on ios.8.0.2
The hard lesson is : I will not try anything new from apple except if I have a problem with the old one.

You'd think the HDMI connector would connect both video and sound. It does not.
You need to run a seperate cable from your iPad's headphone jack (or just listen to the iPad speakers).

How to stream MP3s with embedded images

When I stream an MP3 file with an embedded image, the first few seconds of the files are clipped.
I will need to find another server, or a viable workaround.
What is the best way to work around this?

I have the same issue described by loris.guignard.
The problem is not specific to the embedded cover. If I store very large text tags in mp3 (i.e. larger than about 130 kB), the same problems occurs. In addition, if the tags exceed the 130 kB limit, the duration of the song which can be played decreases.
For my tests I use a 3:26 mp3 (8.25 mB) and the JW Player. The duration of the song piece which can be played varies as follows, depending on the size of the picture stored in the tags :
- Picture size between 130 kB and approx. 600 kB => the song is played properly until 3:23. The last 3 seconds played (3:20 -> 3:23) are repeated from 3:23 until the end at 3:26. Note that the total duration of the song is correct (3:26).
- Picture size : 750 kB => the song is played properly until 3:23, then it stops (the total time displayed is 3:26)
- Picture size : 1.244 MB => same as above, but stops at 3:10 / 3:26
- Picture size : 1.493 MB => same as above, but stops at 3:03 / 3:26
- Picture size : 2.348 MB => same as above, but stops at 2:43 / 3:26
- Picture size : 6.297 MB => same as above, but stops at 0:58 / 3:26
The tags are ID3v2.3 compliant (by the way ID3v2.3 has no size limitation). The measures are the same when we use ID3v2.4 standard. It seems that the problem lies only in the size tags, not in the ID3 version or the tag content.
The measurements are the same whatever the buffer length I choose for the client-side player.
Let me make the following assumption: the end of the played song is evaluated according to offset from the beginning of the mp3 file (rather than from the start of the mp3 music data, i.e. from the end of the tags), modulo the buffer size used for reading the file (which must be 128 kB).
For example, if we combine a tag picture of 4 MB and a mp3 of 8 MB, we have a 12 MB mp3. Since the tags are stored at the file beginning, when the server-side player reaches the middle of the song (at 4+4 = 8 MB), the reader believes that the reading is complete. But it remains 4 MB to read before the real end.
Maybe the last seconds can loop or be truncated because of the wrong time adjustment between song duration evaluation and data buffer length. In my example, the mp3 bitrate was 40 kB/s. So if the file buffer size is 128 kB, it read... 3.20 seconds.
Of course it is only a hypothesis, but I'm really intrigued by this problem.
Can you please tell we how can we fix this ? Are there any configuration that we can change in the FMS side or maybe a patch ?

That's not a supported function of the calendar on iOS. I believe it is because iOS syncs directly with the Exchange Server using Active Sync. I could be wrong, but I don't believe ActiveSync supports this feature (thus, it's not actually a missing feature in iOS, it's a missing feature in ActiveSync, which is a Microsoft product).
BB uses an intermediary service and does not sync directly between the device and the Exchange server.

All of your contacts from all of the accounts you have loggedinto on your iPhone will be displayed in Contacts. Your personal contacts will not sync to your work Outlook. Just be sure you have the right account selected in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars the default account for newly added contacts. If you have duplicate contacts, you can link them together by going into the contact, tapping the Edit button in the upper right and swiping down to the linking section. Linking ony affects how the contacts are displayed on your phone.

In itunes, the Photos tab, can't you turn off syncing? Doing so will remove photos from the device.

In order to delete some of the songs that are not delete(able?) you have to first re-download them from the cloud. There just seems to be some confusion with the itunes match having songs show up that are not actually on your machine therefore, you aren't able to delte them.
-'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
-delete all the songs you are able to download.
-make a note of all teh songs you can't and then,
-'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-go back to iTunes on your device and re-download (click on the cloud icon) all the songs you noted in the last step
-Once they're all downloaded on to your device,
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
and the songs you donwloaded should be the only ones showing up.
-Delete those and you should have a "media on deivce" or something
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-and you should have a clean iTunes Match library.
