How to sub-number my sub-steps?

I have a tech manual that needs a subnumbering scheme like this:
2. Text
     a. text
     b. text
     c. text
But when i set to a,b,c format and say mode Start at 1, I get this instead:
2. Text
     b. text
     b. text
     b. text
or if I choose mode continue from previous number, I get this:
2. Text
     b. text
     c. text
     d. text
What the heck am I missing?

Have you tried a Google search for "InDesign nested numbered list" without the quotes?

  • How to Use Same Asset Number with Different Sub-number

    Hi
We want to sell some assets and buy them back on lease. We want to use same Asset number with different sub-number under the same company code. This new asset will be under different Depreciation Area (Statistical).
We use external numbes for assets . And same asset number range is used by all compnay codes.
Please suggest whether this is possible & how.
    With Regards,
    Nitin

    Hi,
Go to field status for asset master data section and change the field status to optional for field Deactivation date, then follow the below steps.
You can create an sub asset number to an asset, which is already deactivated by retirement as like normal sub asset creation with AS11.(While creating sub number, you need to remove cap date and deactivate dcate field manually from asset master)
With this you can get new asset number as same as your old retired asset main number and but sub number will be different.
To post to diff dep area, other than 01, then you first create an acq transaction type, which will post only to specific areas and then use the new asset number in ABSO to post acq with your custom TTY.
I have tested and found working well in my system............Try now in your test client
    Thanks,

  • HT1549 Can anybody tell me how to enable shared folders regardless of the number of sub folders?

Rather than having th "get info" and enable file sharing of every sub folder how can you enable file sharing in any depth ( number) of sub folders in one easy way? Any help appreciated.
    Best regards, BAGBOY1

You will not find a serial number with the CD if the product is Educational version or Volume License ( Enterprise) version. For Educational version, you need to submit the Proof of Eligibility for the serial number. Contact Customer support for detail. For Volume License serial number, you need to login to the Adobe Licensing Website (LWS) then login using your email address that is used to place the order. If you do not have a password, you can create a new one from the login screen. Login to LWS and you can find the serial number there.

  • How to go back to previous step in a sub workflow?

We are calling a sub workflow upon approval action from a main workflow. In the child workflow we have 9 steps. If at any step in the child workflow (other than first) user does reject action, the workflow control should go back to previous step in the child workflow itself.
We added a custom action in the exit events of all the child workflow steps. Following is the logic of exit event of Step4 of child workflow. Similar logic is there for all steps in the child workflow.
<$if wfAction and wfAction like "REJECT"$>
         <$wfSet("wfJumpTargetStep", "Step3@childWF")$>
         <$wfSet("wfJumpEntryNotifyOff", "0")$>
    <$endif$>
With this code when the user is doing reject action from child workflow, it is taking us back to the main workflow and not to the previous step of child workflow.
    Is this approach correct?
    -Pratap

    1. The 3 events are Entry, Update, and Exit.
    2. Rejects happen in the Update area but you can not reliably react to it there because upon reject it immediately leaves (not going through the exit event).
    3. The rejected content goes backwards in the Workflow step by step (even going back to the main workflow from a sub workflow) until it finds a Step that has valid Editors (not just reviewers).
    4. If it does not find an Editor step it goes all the way back to the automatic Contribution step at the beginning of the Workflow and sits there in a kind of no mans land until the contributor (or an admin) goes and approves it again.
    5. To check if something has been rejected the Entry Event of an editor Step BEFORE the step where it is rejected needs to have code to check for the Reject status.
The sub workflow should be able to capture the Reject as you desire. Are all of the steps in the child workflow (sub workflow) Review only steps? Or maybe the people in the steps do not have RW access to the document? This is what I would predict with your described symptoms.

  • How to activate a different sub-report for each row in the data set as main report page breaks on each row of data in the main dataset

I am going to try asking this same question a different way as I have yet to find a working solution to my problem.  I have a main report and then 8 sub reports.  My main report has one data set and returns one row of data per account number.  One
of the fields in the main data set is called AccountProf.  My main report displays one page per Account number and then calls a different sub report based on that account's AccountProf value.  The sub reports take in the account number as a parameter
and get multiple rows of data to display that accounts usage formatted differntly for each AccountProf (hence the 8 different sub report.
So far I can figure out how to do everything but setting the visibility property of each sub-reports when I have multiple accounts.  If I use the following expression for the visibility property on each sub report, it makes all the applicable sub report
for all the accounts requested visible at once:
    =IIF(Fields!AccountProf.Value= "USE_PLUS_DMD",False,True)
*The value in bold USE_PLUS_DMD  is different for each sub report.
Here is a look at what the main report look like:
Here is the main reports data set:

    Hi JasonDWilson77,
According to your description, there is a main report and 8 sub reports in the report, you want to set visibility of sub reports, if no value is passed to the parameter of sub report, the sub report will not be displayed. If that is the case, please refer
    to the following steps:
      1. Create a new parameter named NewAccountNumber, set its data type the same as @AccountNumber, select Allow multiple values, set Visibility to be hidden, then set all available values to default values.
      2. Right-click the first sub report and open Subreport Properties dialog box, click Parameters in left pane, set name to AccountNumber, then click (fx) button, type the expression like below:
    =Parameters! NewAccountNumber(0)
      3. Click Visibility in left pane, select Show or hide based on an expression, then click (fx) button and type the expression like below:
    =IIF(InStr(Join(Parameters! AccountNumber.Value), Parameters!NewAccountNumber.Value(0))>0 , false,true)
      4. Modify parameter of other sub reports like step2.
      5. Set visibility of other sub reports like step3.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • How to restrict access to sub folders (apart from Manual settings)?

    Hi,
Is there any method to stop the  group traverse from main Folder to sub folder when user group has access to main folder?
So that no need to give no access to sub folders manually for given group.
Manual access settings have become tedious due to large number of sub folder and user groups.
    Scenario:-
There is a main Folder F1 and it has 100 Sub Folder SF1 to SF100. And these sub folders has child folders.
Group G1 should have access only  F1, and should not have the access its child folders.
How can we eliminate manual work to remove access for each group at each sub-folder level?
    Thanks,
    Anu

Access restrictons by default are inherited from parent folders downward.
You can break the inheritance, but you'll still need to manualy setup initial security.
Details are in the Admin guide.

  • Creation of Asset with Sub-number

    Hi Gurus,
Would like to ask for your expert advice regarding the creation of Asset using Sub-numbers.
We have seversal assets where expenses and depreciation will be divided into different cost centers. We are planning to use asset subnumber for easier monitoring of related assets but we are a little bit undecided because we do not know if there are any disadvantages of using asset sub numbers.
Is it advisable to use asset sub-number? What are the things that we need to consider if in case we will use asset subnumber in creating our assets.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Ellicec

    Hi Madhu,
I tried to create an asset in AS01 and afterwards create subnumbers ( Subnumbers 1-3 ) for that asset in AS11. But it seems that I cannot edit the field of the assets with subnumbers. It copies the same data as that of the one created in AS01  ( subnumber 0 ).
I also tried to run depreciation in AFAB but only the main asset was depreciated. The sub assets were not depreciated.
Kindly advise the steps to correctly execute this.
    Thanks,

  • How can I get the sub folders in room structure?

    Hi guys,
I have a quesion: in KM-Collaboration-roomstructure, if I have a folder A, how can I get its sub folders like A.1,A.1.1,A2.
I mean of course  how code can realize: using context folder=(IPcdContext) ictx.loopup(path) ?
    Please give me some hint!
    Thanks so much!
    Regards,
    Liying

The phone number format as well as the date language and format and the time format are controlled by the Region Format setting. Go to Settings > General >International > Region Format.  When you change a region format, you can go back one page (to International) and see an example of the date/time/phone number format that your selected region format will produce.

  • Asset Sub number skipped

    Dear Experts,
I have an Asset 1250000 in which 1 to 131 sub numbers have been created but i observed sub numbers from 61 to 65 do not exist so i doubt them to have been deleted.
    1. How can track if these sub numbers have been deleted?
    2. Is there anyway to create sub numbers from 61 to 65?
    3. Is it certain these sub numbers have deleted or can be system bug?
    Please suggest.
    Thank You.

    Hi,
ad 1) Check in Tables ANLA, ANLC, ANLP, ANLH and perhaps also ANEK, ANLZ....if you can find this assets
ad 2) The system checks always the number in ANLH-LUNTN and take the next one
ad 3) No, there is no bug which can delete assets. This is not possible. It could be a transport from a lower system
    where a ANLH-LUNTN is transported.

  • Asset Sub Number Conversion

    Hi Expert,
I have a question here and hope experts can give some Light.
We have asset main number with asset number sub number in the legacy system. When we migrate to SAP, I'll also need to create the Asset Main Number (AS91) and following with Asset Sub Number for it (AS94).
The problem is, how could I actually link the asset sub number with the relevant main number for data conversion as the main asset must always be created first before I can load asset sub-number.
What is the best approach to use?
    Please help. Thanks.

    Hello Louis Yale
You first create the main Asset number with T-code AS91
Once that is done you then create Asset sub number with reference to main Asset number . T-code AS94.
When you start creating Asset sub number on the main screen you will need to input main asset number and company code. This links your asset sub number to main asset number.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • How do you create a "sub-sequence"?

I can create a "sub-clip" in Adobe Premiere Pro as described here:
But how do I create a "sub-sequence" in Adobe Premiere Pro? You can do this in Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer. A "sub-sequence" is described here:
    Much appreciated!

    Pompey (formerly J-MS) wrote:
    Nope, I think you're wrong.
I have watched the clip and nesting is exactly the same as your sub-sequence.
Nesting is nothing like subsequencing. A subsequence acts exactly the same way a subclip acts. Nesting is putting one sequence inside another.
    Adobe Premiere explains nesting as:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS3E67AF4C-B2A2-4f04-90B4-F8CCFB74B144.ht ml#WSEC1CCB36-CFD4-4d60-ABDF-B4F9BE339B05
You can nest sequences within sequences—to any depth—to create complex groupings and hierarchies. You can nest a sequence into another having a different timebase, frame size, and pixel aspect ratio settings. A nested sequence appears as a single, linked video/audio clip, even though its source sequence can contain numerous video and audio tracks.
Avid Media Composer describes nesting as:
    Page 299 - http://dms.sjmc.umn.edu/Equipment_Guides/Avid_Guides/MCBasicsGuide.pdf
Nesting involves stepping into existing tracks to reveal added layers for combining multiple images and digital video effects. When the effect is applied, you can step out to view and render the effect as one segment on the track. You can nest up to 24 additional tracks within each track.
A subsequence is creating a smaller sequence from another and is independant of the master sequence.
Avid Media Composer explains a subsequence as:
    Page 247 - http://dms.sjmc.umn.edu/Equipment_Guides/Avid_Guides/MCBasicsGuide.pdf
You can use IN and OUT marks to create a new, shorter sequence from an existing sequence. This subsequence becomes an independent sequence and you can edit it in the same way you edit any other sequence.
Adobe Premiere Pro does not have a subsequence ability. But it has subclip ability.
Adobe Premiere Pro explains a sub clip as:
    Page 235 - http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/premiere_pro_reference.pdf
Subclip A section of a master clip that references the master clip’s media file. Use subclips to reference discreet sections of long master clips. (See Creating subclips.)
Avid Media Composer explains a sub clip as:
    Page 245 - http://dms.sjmc.umn.edu/Equipment_Guides/Avid_Guides/MCBasicsGuide.pdf
When you mark footage with IN and OUT points, either you can save the entire clip along with the new marks, or you can create subclips based on the marks you set to break up longer master clips into smaller segments of selected footage. This procedure is similar to creating a pull reel of the selects or circle takes of your best footage before editing.
Subclips do not directly reference the original media. Subclips remain linked to the master clips from which they are created, and the master clips, in turn, reference the captured media files located on your media drives. As a result, none of the original footage is lost.
Nesting is not subsequencing. Subsequences (within Avid) act the same way subclips behave within both Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer. My original questions was if Adobe Premiere allows your to make a subsequence - and after much discussion, no it does not.
The solution to subsequencing in Adobe Premiere:
I want to basically make a duplicate of my sequence but not of the whole sequence, only a small part.
To achieve this it's easier to mark IN and OUT on the part of the sequence you want and LIFT/EXTRACT/COPY and then create a new sequence and INSERT/OVERWITE/PASTE as Adobe Premiere stores all LIFTS/EXTRACTS in the clipboard (as does copy) into a new sequence.
    Or as Jim stated above,
There's no direct analogy in PP, but you can load a Sequence into the Source Monitor and select portions of it that way.  You can then add that portion to a new Sequence either as a single 'clip' (nested sequence), or retaining all the individual clips of the original.
