How to Subscribe to Outlook Calendar in Group WIKI Calendar

Ok, here's what I've been trying to figure out how to do for about a year.  Our small office uses PC's with Outlook as our Calendar.  We are not on Exchange Server.  We are using Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server ver. 10.6.8. I'm trying to figure out a way so that our office can look at one central calendar and see individual calendars for each of the users.  I don't want all the users to have their events/appointments on 1 calendar because then you can't tell whose event/appointment it is.   I've setup a Group WIKI and have activated the Calendar and have a group consisting of the attorneys assigned to the Group.  Outlook 10 can publish its calendar as to a webdav server.  In fact I'm able to subscribe to my Outlook Calendar once its been published in the iCal client on the Snow Leopard server.  It updates in both directions when changes are made.  The problem is that when I go into the Group WIKI Calendar, although I can create calendars there and then PUBLISH them so they can be Subscribed to in either iCal or in Outlook 2010, I can't figure out how to SUBSCRIBE to a webdav/caldav calendar, ie. the Outlook 2010 that's been published, in the WIKI Calendar.  Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the specific intricacy of your situation (a hosted domain at Outlook.com), and so do not know if indeed that is causal to your issues. But perhaps a workaround will be useful? For example, if you indeed use your hosted domain for your email, but create a true Outlook.com account for the use of only Calendar and Contact synchronization, then that might work?
You can find complete instructions here:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-10-Smartphone/How-To-OTA-Sync-BB10-and-non...
For your email account, you simply use the domain they are hosting, and for Contacts/Calendar, the true Outlook.com account that you create for that purpose.
Good luck!

  • Is it possible to subscribe to Server Group Wiki Calendar with the iPhone?

I would like to subscribe to Group Wiki Calendar with an iPhone, but I am not having much luck.
The Group Wiki is on our on Snow Leopard Mini Server. I have successfully subscribed to the calendar with iCal on client computers and the calendar updates correctly on the LAN. The calendar also updates correctly when the client computer is on a WAN (off site).
I would now like to subscribe to the calendar so employees iPhones automatically update changes made to the Wiki Group Calendar.
I have taken the URL from the Info window of the subscribed calendar in iCal and used it in the setup of a Subscription Account on the iPhone, but it consistently fails to verify the user account.
I have tried many variations of the URL based on forum readings, but still no success.
Does anyone know if it is possible to subscribe to a Group Wiki using the iPhone and, if so, what is the correct URL statement to get the iPhone to see the Wiki calendar?
    Thank you in advance.

I tried several versions of this:
    http://hostname.domainname.com:8008/principals/wikis/wikiname
    https://hostname.domainname.com:8443/principals/wikis/wikiname
and after the "Wiki Server Update 1.0" by Apple...
    http://hostname.domainname.com:8008/principals/uids/wiki-wikiname
    https://hostname.domainname.com:8443/principals/uids/wiki-wikiname
    None of them work.
I am running SLS 10.6.4 with the Wiki Server Update 1.0. Wiki calendars from the web and in iCal.
iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0 & iPod touch with iOS 3.1.3 trying to connect over WiFi.
1 How is everyone else connecting their iPhones to SLS services?
2 Anyone using the "Mobile Access" or another Mac proxy server?
3 What about VPN from iPhone to SLS for these services?
4 What Firewall/NAT settings between the world and your SLS do you use?

  • How can I sync outlook 2007 subfolders, contacts, and calendar to iphone 6

How do I setup to sync outlook 2007 subfolders, contacts, and calendar to iphone 6?
Inbox messages will sync but not the sent box from either outlook or iphone.  Also, outlook subfolders are showing up on iphone.

    Hi,
you don't need MobileMe or anything fancy. I personally sync my Outlook calendar and my Outlook address book with three computers (two at the office and one at home)and besides I run Office 2003 on one, Office 2007 on the other and Office 2010 on the third, so it can't get more complicated than that, but it works 100%.
First sync Outlook with iTunes on one computer, having done that when you try to sync it to another machine, iTunes will recognize that it is synced with another computer and ask you if you want to merge the data, say yes, That's all there is to it.
It does not work for music as you rightly say but as far as Calendars and Contacts are concerned it's flawless and transparent.
If you hit a snag talk back to me.
    Cheers.

  • How do I add a user's group calendar in iCal?

How do I add a user's group calendar in iCal?
I just keep getting "the account was not found"
But the account works for its own network calendar.
None of the following locations work -
    master.mydomain.net:8008/principals/groups/domainusers/calendar
    master.mydomain.net:8008/principals/wikis/domainusers/calendar
    master.mydomain.net:8008/calendars/_uids_/wiki-domainusers/calendar
    and every variation I can think of (I've tried master.local, http:// & webcal:// and a / at the end)
I can add a users network calendar account to iCal.
I can subscribe to a group / wiki calendar in iCal.
I can add an event on the wiki calendar as a user.
But I want a user to be able to add an event to a group calendar in iCal.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi!

  • How to sync Outlook 2010 Contact Groups to my iPad and iPhone

I am trying to figure out how to sync my Outlook 2010 contact groups to my iPad and iPhone.  Also how do you manage the groups once on the device?  Seems they can only be selected and not edited.  I can get my Good contact group and my Windows Contacts contact group to sync but not my Outlook 2010 groups.  Any ideas?

Mac solution.  No idea if works on PC:
    Work Around:
    On your mac:
    1.  Open a new email
    2.  Insert name of an existing group into one of the "To" fields as usual.
    3.  Highlight all the resulting names in the "To" entry
[Highlight first name, and while holding shift, highlight last name and all will highlight[]
    4. Copy (Command C) the highlighted emails
    5. Paste (Command V) nto a pages document
    6. Remove the name and anything else preceeding the first < and also the first < of only the first entry whixh will look like this:
         [email protected]>,
    7. Remove the > of the last email which will look like this:
         , Jane Doe <[email protected]
    8. Copy the entire altered list from the pages document
9, Go to Contact Book and click + to add a new entry
10.. Name the entry (XXX Group for iPad) or whatever you wish to call it
    11.  Paste all the copied altered list into any one of the email entry spaces
    12.  Click on "Done"
    13.  Create new email On iPad and click on + in any one of the "To" lines and search for "XXX Group for iPad"  You cannot just key in XXX Group for iPad!!!!!!!, you must use + contact search.
    14.  Enter the selected iPad contact group into the "To" line.
    15.  All the entries will now appear in the "To" line and you are good to go.
Adding or deleting email addresses from the iPad group:
Easiest:  Alter the original mac group in the usual way and repeat steps 1-14 above.  It seems impossible to edit within the emai line of the iPad contact entry.
    Rediculously simple once figured out.
Happy emailling, but please send Bcc so that you don't spread your groups' email addresses all over the internet for spam, viruses, and other unwanted emails.  Be considerate and ask your recipients to notifiy you if they wish to be deleted from the lists you compose.

  • Web calendar for group only?  Users cals only in iCal?

I'm new to setting up iCal server and I've looked through my *Mac OS X Server Essentials* book as well as iCalService_Admin_v10.5_2ndEd.pdf and WebTechnologies_Adminv10.5.pdf and how the iCal service, the iCal application and the web calendar all interact remains a little murky for me.
    Here's my understanding so far:
iCal the application on the OS X client computer is used to manage a single user's calendar. iCal can also be used to manage another user's calender if so set up.
The web calendar found at http://domain/groups/groupname/calendar/ is used to manage a group's calendar.
iCal the application can subscribe Read-Only to the group's calendar.
This means to me that a user's calendar is not viewable on the web, the web calendar is only for group calendaring, and group calendar management is only done via the web not iCal, is this true?

I have only recently made my web calendars work, but have had several odd problems when trying to use both the web calendar and iCal to edit and view the same group calendar.
*What is the proper way to access a group calendar in the iCal client?*
    Is it this?

  • Multiple calendars under one wiki group

I have set up iCal server and web services and all is working fine, apart from group (wiki) calendars?
The Problem: A wiki was created with the name matching a workgroup managers "groups short name"
The group name in workgroup manager "WDA It" the short name "wdait", therfore the wiki was named "wdait" to match.
These instructions come from apple support.
when you log into the wiki with a user that is part of a group that has been given read write privileges to access that wiki you see the default "Calendar"
when you add the wiki calendar to a clients iCal using their username and password and the server address https://serverFQDN.com:8443/principals/wikis/wdait/ the same "Calendar" is shown. This is great but when you add another calendar through iCal on the client machine that new calendar does not sync or even show up on the web wiki interface.
Or visa versa if the new calendar is created on the wdait wiki calendar (web interface) this does not sync back to show up on the clients iCal.
i have tried creating a new workgroup manager group and a brand new user and a new wiki to match the new group and all on the web interface created 3 calendars and even changed the name of the default calendar from "Calendar" to something like "cal1" then on a fresh client machine with no calendars added in ical I added the new user who had been given rw privileges on that new wiki groups calendar, and when it synced only the first "calendar" showed up with the old name "calendar" and not the new changed name "cal1"
    Any ideas? scratching head.

I am struggling as well with accessing the WIKI calendars using the "https://server:8443/principals/wikis/groupname/". It also takes me to a different calendar.
I have ended up turning off the SSL and going directly to the wiki itself which uses the format of "http://server/principals/__uids__/wiki-E01D65F9-5E68-4642-B540-83F54498ABF5__wik i_guid/".
I found the address by going to going to the "https://server:8443/principals/wikis/groupname/" directly in Safari which then shows you all the different names the calendar uses if i remember correctly.
Suspect that if you try some of the other address' you may be able to use SSL, didn't have enough time to try!

  • How can I connect a Wiki calendar with webcal

    Hi,
I'm an absolute beginner concerning servers. I try to explane it very simple.
I've got a Server with OS Lion Server. The iCal-Server is activate and connected to iCal an another MAC. The Wiki is also activated. In this Wiki I have a Wiki-Calendar.
I want to see this Wiki-Calendar on my iCal-Server or better on iCal.
    What should I do?
    Greetings

To get the calendar on your desktop in iCal, perform the following steps:
    Browse to your wiki.
Click on the calendar link to open the wiki calendar.
To the left you will see a bar with the various calendars and their colors (there may only be one).
Hover over the word "Calendar" and a little info icon will appear.
Click on the info icon, and you will get the calendar info windo. There will be a link to subscribe. This will add the wiki calendar to your iCal program on your desktop.
This should do the trick, took me a few minutes to find this link as well, it's a bit hidden.
    ~Mike

  • Why rely on wiki calendars anyway?

I, too, got bit by the breakage of group wiki calendars in 10.6.4. I'm very grateful for some of the solutions posted here, but after some thinking, I decided that it's really not in any of our best interest to have our businesses or our clients' businesses depend on an unsupported feature. As such, I created new user accounts to represent each group calendar account. I've deployed it to my staff and it's really working quite well.
    *The Negatives:*
    1. We no longer have a web view of our group calendars
    2. Delegations must be manually created - HOWEVER, using calendarservermanageprincipals you can delegate to an entire group saving the painstaking work and maintenance of delegating per user.
    *The Positives:*
    1. Only one account needs to be created in each copy of iCal (adding wiki accounts was a pain and really wan't something that most users could do)
    2. Group calendars can now send and receive invites (like resources or locations, they can be set to auto-accept too using calendarservermanageprincipals)
    3. iCal can enable/disable all calendars for a group with one checkbox
Once I discovered calendarservermanageprincipals, it now seems well worth it to do it this way, the supported way.
Are there any other negative or positive aspects you guys can think of? What reasons are holding you back from doing it this way?
+Pardon the double-post, but I felt this belonged in the OS X Server section, not just the iCal client section+

    No response?
In case anyone is confused as to how this works, this is how I created and enabled a shared, group calendar for my Marketing department. First, I created a new user in Workgroup Manager to represent the Marketing department's calendars. I named this user "sharedmarketing".
Now, I wanted to give the staff group "read-only access" to the calendar as well as to give the Marketing group "write access", so I executed these two commands:
    sudo calendarservermanageprincipals --add-write-proxy groups:marketing users:sharedmarketing
    sudo calendarservermanageprincipals --add-read-proxy groups:staff users:sharedmarketing
I then imported the content from the Marketing Wiki calendar into this calendar and that was it!
If I logged in directly to the sharedmarketing account with iCal (not necessary), and looked how the account was set to be delegated, it properly showed group names:
There is no way to configure it like this using the iCal GUI, and this was why I always felt that the management of privileges was the biggest obstacle in setting up iCal Server in this proper, supported fashion.
Then, from the client, I can naturally access those group calendars:
This is SO much easier to setup and maintain as each user only needs to have their ONE iCal account configured and they can just add the necessary groups, which is WAY easier than supplying users with crazy wiki-calendar URLs.
It's been extremely stable too. I haven't seen one of those Offline/Revert to Server dialogs that we used to see when using wiki groups.

  • Show shared calendars in ical wiki

    Hello everybody,
We use the snow leopard server version 10.6.4 on a xServe.
Personal calendars are shared, so we can see the calendars of each others in iCal.
But I want to make visible the shared calendars on the wiki (calendar) server. Now I can only see my personal sychronosized calendar online.
So, how can I add shared calendars on the wiki server?
    Tnkx!

There is an alternative way you could try which works very well for our client who uses both macs and pc's on a windows network.
On iCal go to ICAL > Preferences. Click on the Accounts tab, select the exchange account and click on the delegations tab. On here click the + symbol and type in the first few letters of the user who's calendar she needs access to - if exchange is configured correctly it should automatically find the username and add that calendar to iCal for her to view.

  • Issue with syncing bblink calendar + group events calendar into outlook 2003

Had a BB Curve OS 7, and I was able to sync my default calendar AND my BBM groups calendars in one single sinc.
Now, I have the Q5 OS 10.2.1 and I can not find for the life of me, how to sync my device calendars (personal and BBM Group Events calendars) onto my pc using Outlook 2003.
Called my carrier and they don't even know what to tell me. Can someone point me in some direction please!
PS I would also accept a solution using a cloud calendar (Gmail, Outlook.com...) I just want ALL calendars to be visible from my PC with one combine calandar view.
2014-02-22 UPDATE: Just installed BBLink 1.2.3, same issue.... No solution yet!

The OS7 calendar sync ONLY sync's the default calendar. Unless you merged your BBM group calendar entries (you would have had to move them to the default calendar using a special, and little known, documented procedure) into your default calendar you couldn't have had the BBM group calendar sync'd.
Regardless, the BBM group calendars will not sync to Outlook in BB10.
    1. Please thank those who help you by clicking the "Like" button at the bottom of the post that helped you.
    2. If your issue has been solved, please resolve it by marking the post "Solution?" which solved it for you!

  • How can I sync my outlook calendar with iPhone or calendar on Maverick?

I have just updated to Mavericks on my iMac. I use Microsoft Outlook for email, contacts and calendars. How do I now sync these on my iPhone ?
The only sync seems to be via iCloud, this is sharing calendar and contacts on the iMac but if I make any calendar additions to the outlook calendar it doesn't copy to the phone or the iMac calendar and similarly if I add an item to the phone calendar it syncs to the iMac calendar but doesn't copy to outlook.

    1. Apple has removed sync services in OS X Mavericks. Therefore, you cannot sync Outlook 2011 with Contacts or Calendar.
    2. Apple has removed the ability to sync through iTunes in OS X Mavericks, so that, even if you use Contacts and Calendar on the Mac, you can only sync them with your iPhone through iCloud, thus exposing all your contacts and calendar information to the mercies of the Web.
    3. Microsoft does not not support CalDAV and CardDAV in Outlook, so there is no way to sync directly through iCloud, except perhaps by setting up a Microsoft Exchange account.
    4. Apple makes it extremely difficult (virtually impossible) to revert to a version of OSX that is earlier than OS X Mavericks once Mavericks is installed.
In short, we are screwed and neither company seems to care.

  • How do I sync Outlook calendar with iPhone?

I am using Outlook 2011 on my laptop for my yahoo account. I receive all mail via Outlook and I use the calendar feature on Outlook as well. I set up the yahoo account also on my iPhone 4. I have no problems receiving/sending emails but I cannot figure out how to [wirelessly] sync the calendar from Outlook to the iPhone. Does anyone know if it can be done? And if so, how?  Thank for the help.

Synchronization of calendars between Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and your Apple iPhone or iPod touch requires Apple iTunes. You can configure which items are synchronized during a one-time set up process. Good luck with your Mac!
After the initial setup, each time that you connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer, the changes made on your computer or device are synchronized.
Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer using the cable provided with your device or by placing the iPhone or iPod touch in the Apple Universal Dock.
iTunes opens automatically when connected to your computer.
In iTunes, in the source list, under Devices, click the entry for your iPhone or iPod touch.
    Click the Info tab.
Under Calendars, click Sync calendars from, and then click Outlook.
    Do one of the following:
To synchronize all calendars, click All calendars.
To limit the calendars that are synchronized, click Selected calendars, and then click the calendars you want to synchronize.
NOTE   To select multiple calendars, press CTRL as you click each calendar name.
    Click Apply.
