This is not possible sadly, I have taken issue with this in Australia in the past. To recieve text messages you must set your sms number to your mobile phone number then verify this number by entering the code that is sent to your mobile. I am working on recieving messages on skype it is my thinking that it wold be very difficult to compete with skype as a normal telecom so they don't allow it.

So you actually work for this company with the WORST business website I have ever seen. I've spent 45 minutes on your stupid site trying to figure out how to extend my online number because your email told me I had to extend my number or it would expire.
Here your saying that it will automatically extend. What if I don't want to automatically extend? What if I wanted to cancel? What if I actually wanted support on this horrible service. I mean the phone actually works but your site is absolutely the WORST. You can't do anything you want to do logically.
I'm a web designer. If I designed junk like your site, I'd be fired and deservedly so.
45 minutes looking for something that doesn't exist. Thanks you can extend my number FOR FREE NOW for wasting my time.

How do I find my skype ID number?

How do I find my Skype ID number so that I can give it to a caller? I have gone to My Account and it's not there (only my name and email). When I click on the Skpye Number tab I am asked to purchase a number. I thought some calls were free and I don't want to purchase a subscription. Just need this to give to someone who wants to call me.

With the confusion about Microsoft accounts, Skype accounts, and then mixing in Skype Numbers, I chose to reply to the original poster's question the way I did so as to cover as many possibilities as made sense. New users to any system can be easily confused by vocabulary and usage.
You ask an entirely different question! When did you purchase your Skype Number? You would only have lost it if you did not reactivate the Skype Number subscription within the 90 days your number is held on account for you. On Day #91, the number would be returned to the pool of available numbers for someone else to use.
Alternately, if that is not what you are asking, check your account details and click on the Skype Number block under the Manage Features heading on your account page dashboard. You will next see your Skype Number subscription(s) listed.
Did I guess correctly?! If not, please post back with additional details.

Skype In Number Not Working

After going round and round in circles on Skype's ridiculous web site I seem to have no option but to end up here.
My Skype In Number is NOT WORKING. Why not and how do I get this fixed ? I am sure Skype will want paid again soon but if I am not getting the service so guess what....

You are, of course, correct: you ought to contact Skype Customer Service to report the problems with your Skype Number and to request it be tested, and you will need to contact Skype Customer Service to request a refund.
Skype is aware there can be problems contacting their customer support unit. Please do tray again; people do get through.

Here are a few extra notes to guide you along the way ...
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, by clicking on the Next button. Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. Scammers using my Skype In Number

For the past few weeks, I have had voice messages left on my Skype In number related to people asking for refunds from a tax department.
It seems that the scammers will call these people, and when they ask questions and want a number to return the call, the scammers will leave my Skype Number as their contact details. So, lots of calls from dear old people expecting me to help them get a refund.
I have cancelled my subscription for this number, however the number is still active until the next bill cycle in January.
How can I inactivate this to where the phone number is no longer valid?

When people call me, Skype rings far to many times before voice mail comes on. How do you reduce the number of rings on an inbound call, so that voice mail comes on in 4 to 5 rings?

Skype does not determine when to send calls to voice mail by the number of rings, but instead by the amount of time that has elapsed. Check your settings (in Windows, it would be Tools -> Options -> Calls -> Voice Messages -> Start recording a voice message if ... Remember to Save your changes!

How do I delete this number?

Same here - I received the same email today. The number they have is a pay as you go mobile number from Estonia, where I don't leave anymore (since 5 years ago). That's not my number and chances are it has been assigned to a different person. The offer is useless and that is not my number: I must be able to delete it.
I would be willing to use the Skype to go offer, but if I'm able to do it with my British mobile.
So, Skype, how do I delete the number you have that is not mine?

I have a similar problem (that did not occur until my wife got an iPhone). Resetting my iPhone 5 alleviated the problem but only for a day or two. After that the obsolete "other" number reemerged and since then has been a nuisance every time I want to send a text to my wife.
Has anyone sent you a solution that works? Only one person has responded to my request posted to this community, he had no real solution.

My Skype in number show as my caller id

I have just purchased a Australian Skype in number. I would like to set it up to show as my caller id number when I skype out. How can I set this up??? I have tried the obviuos ways but the Skype in number is not recognized in the Skype caller id set up.

1. Allow your Skype Number to expire. You won't lose your number -- it will be held on your account for reactivation for 90 days following the expiration date.
2. After it expires sign on to your account details. You should be presented with a triangle icon with an exclamation mark inside it and be greeted with the message that your Skype Number subscription has expired. Click on the "Reactivate" link and proceed to "renew". You should now be able to renew your number..

Transfer expired skype online number

Hi , my skype online number will expires at the end of this month and I want to transfer/assign the number into another skype account.
From what I understood here, its not possible to transfer online number from one account to another and I will have to wait until it expires then I can buy it again using my other skype account.
My question is : Should I wait until the online number subscription expires then buy it again through my other Skype account or is there away around this situation ?
And how can I buy it again using my other Skype account without waiting for 90 days after the number expire/deactivate which is the period of time needed for the number to go back again to the available Skype online numbers pool .

you cannot transfer a Skype Number from one account to another . . . period
when the number expires it is held for you for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate it -- if an when you reactivate it during this period it will still be associated with the original Skype Name
if the 90 days expires before you reactivate the number, then the number will be made available to ANYONE that happens to choose it (and that almost certainly WON'T be you)

Unable to renew Skype-in number

I'm trying to renew my skype-in number.
I have two days to renew my skype-in number and unfortunately none of the remedies mentioned in the forums are working for me. I need to renew my number, but appear to have no way of doing it. Can someone tell me how one renews a skype-in number when the 'settings' link under the number just brings me back to the same page and no hint as to where I can go to change payment method (as one forum post suggested) or any other way of paying?

On the day your Skype Number subscription expires, it will be automatically renewed for the same period of time for which you initially purchased it.
To change your Skype Number payment method:
Sign in to your account.
In the Manage features section, click Skype Number. You’ll see the next payment due date under your Skype Number.
Click Settings.
Here you can change your existing payment method.
You can change your payment method as long as the new method supports recurring payments, such as a credit card, PayPal or Skype Credit. This is not possible in countries where the payment cannot be made from your Skype Credit balance.
When you cancel your subscription and your Skype Number expires, you can reactivate it from your account within 90 days.

Old Skype-To-Go/Skype Access number

I have an old Skype-To-Go number/Skype Access number from the time when you pressed one to call one of your predefined contacts or 2 to enter a number to call. This is pretty useful for me as I call alot abroad from my cellphone.
But I want to change my predefined contacts. How can I do that?

Skype in number Hacked

My Skype in has been hacked and is sending text messages The reason I know this is I am getting a huge number of phonecalls to my Skype In number saying "please stop sending me text messages " these are mainly from BT I have cancellec my Skype in number , but it still says that it will work till Jan 2016 In the meantime I am getting phonecalls throughout the night Does anyone know how to stop these text to phone messages ?
