How to Substitute CoA GL Text with User specific GL Text in reports

Hello Experts,
We have one Chart of Account shared by many countries in different company codes. So, it is not possible to change English text of GL accounts for country specific requirement. I had a way out by making country chart of account but customer did not want it to avoid complexities. Therefore, is there a way to maintain India specific text for some selective GLs and replicate it in the reports. Users are fine with doing entries with existing text. Only problem is with reports to show it to external parties.

If you put a formatting trigger on any item or frame and return FALSE, it will disappear.
So the totals need to be within a frame which has a trigger which returns false if text file is chosen.

1.We cann't find the forms associated with a specific transaction.
2.But,based on requirement we can go for the form selection.
3.Suppose in account payable and receivable , we have different forms like customer statement, Dunning and Chek form etc.
4.The functional people can find the form name in SPRO and give the details of the requirement.
5.If u have the output type or formname u can go for the TNAPR and TTXFP tables and u can search for the respect object.
6.For FI u can directly find in the SPRO, by searching it with the form name.

Control User Specific button in ALV report

Can anybody please suggest me how to control "USER SPECIFIC" button in ALV report layout using authorization object. I mean if you can tell me which authorization object is responsible to control the "USER SPECIFIC" button.

normally the restrictions for saving layouts/display variants are done at 2 levels:
1) The developer of an ALV list first predetermines the authorization in the 'i_save' parameter within the code.
I_SAVE = ' '     -
layouts cannot be saved
I_SAVE = 'A'   -
user-specific and cross-user layouts can be saved
I_SAVE = 'X'   --- cross-user layouts can be saved
I_SAVE = 'U' --- user-specific layouts can be saved
2) The second level comes to us restriciting the S_ALV_LAYO which gives access to users to save global layouts if I_SAVE for that particular transaction is A or X.
for example, a report has I_SAVE= 'A', which means
it will allow to save User-specific layouts without any restrictions.
and if user has S_ALV_LAYO then he can save both User-Specific and Global Layouts(variants).
it would be better to keep this object separate.

Transport user specific layout of standard report from developer server to

Hi ,
I am using user specific layout of standard report in my customizing report for retrieving data from standard report.
i want to transport this user specific layout of standard report from developer server (say client 400 ) to production server ( say client 100 ).
Also i want to copy this layout for all end users ( different user names ) in production server.
I tried to import user specific layout , it is possible only with in the same server ( say developer server , but different clients , say 400 to 450).
please help me to sort out this .

Are you doing this in the webi report after you refresh it?
Or are you doing this in BEX?
I am able to get EITHER the text or key to display.
I get the text when i have the properties set to Text & Key and Medium length for the Text View.
Any other selection for text View, like std or long, result in seeing the key instead of the text.

I know that I can create digital swf magazines in indesign and that user comments and like/unlike buttons can be entered with coding in adobe dreamweaver.
I need this for a school project and I do not know if it's possible or if there is another way of doing it in dreamweaver...

The easiest way to do like/unlike voting is use facebook´s like/unlike button generator at http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/ to create a code. You can set up the appearance and some features of your button and you will end up having an iFrame code. You can add that code into your html-wrapper file with some regular texteditor like wordPad....
Here´s one example, it´s an InDesign SWF finalized with eDocker but I don´t see any reason why you couldn´t use the SWF exported directly from InDesign as well. If you want to put it to some specific location, you have to wrap it up into a div and set up some css for that div, but it´s not a rocket science either.....=)

How to update a bound textField with user selection ?

I'm following an Update Database example from the JSC tutorials and have the following situation.
I have a page displaying a row of data for a selected person (first_name, last_name, title) bound to a data provider. I have made the "title' field a TextField. I want to enable the user to edit the title field and update the information in the database.
If I simply type a new title on the text field and click on Update, everything works fine. However, I want to make the user choose from a list of titles (in a drop down list) instead of manually editting the 'title
field to avoid spelling errors.
However, the textfield (title) does not display the selection from the Drop Down list.
titleField.setText(rankdropDown.getSelected());
It seems to me that the reason is that each time the drop down event value change event handler is executed, the Pre-render methd kicks in and restores the 'title' field to its original value (from table rowset). And the user selection is not displayed.

Are you submitting the page after selecting the data from the drop down?
The drop down does not seem to have an option of submiting the page when the value is changed. Only if you submit the page, will the data be processed and the text field updated.
From what i see in the doc for the prerender method, this method is invoked during the renderResponse phase. Whereas the value change event is processed during the process validation phase itself of the jsf life cycle.

How to create a custom listview with a specific listview item style?

Hi everybody, I am trying to implement a custom image gallery. It has a very distinct design though, It supports drag and drop reordering. Each item has a button on the left and a thumbnail. The drag and drop should happen only when we drag the thumbnail
and drop on the + buttons. I tried a lot of ways but none of them seem to work properly. The design of the list view is as the image below.
the first item in the list view looks like this. a button and a thumbnail and the last item looks the same but instead of a thumbnail it has an icon. When the add button is clicked a open file dialog appears and we can insert a thumbnail when the add button
which is on the left and right of the thumbnail is clicked. When the add button at the end is clicked it adds a thumbnail at the end. How do i implement something like this ? Any help is much appreciated.

And also could you describe in which part you have problem?
If you don't know how to add a image to your listviewitem, please try check VisualTreeHelper Class, use it to the specific element you need and then add the element, like a image to it.

Hi Barry, Sorry that was a typo. What i meant to say was we can insert a new thumbnail when the + button which are on either side of the thumbnail is clicked.
There are two problems that i am facing.
How do i do drag and drop by dropping on to the + buttons? Drag and drop should not work when one thumbnail is dropped on to the other. Multiple thumbnails can be selected and dragged and dropped to reorder. The + buttons should not be dragged nor
selected.
Dragging the last "add thumbnail" should not be possible. It has to be there always at the end. And user should not be able to select, reorder or delete it.
I have a class which holds the thumbnail and i am setting the observable collection as the item source of the list view. i do not have any problem in showing the thumbnails.

React on a transaction with user specific code

I am new in the field of SAP development and I have some questions about the general strategy.
It's the task to react on a transaction in SAP (an order generated by a user in the SAP system). After the order is done I have to control a Lego train (It's for a university project for education purposes). Therefore it's necessary to call own code.
I searched a little bit in the SAP help and found these possible solutions: BAPI's and RFC or the IDOC-Interface. So my first question: where can I find the BAPI C++ library for download? There is no clue in the help.
And my second question: is there a way to inject own functions e.g. via DLL? When I understand the BAPI/RFC right, than I have to program a stand alone server and SAP system calls the server. So I need a "real standalone, external" program. That's a little bit overhead for my concerns I think. So is there a way to insert a function like a plugin and than to call the function like a trigger?
And a third suggestion was to use a shared folder for data exchange via files. Is this (simple) solution possible? I found nothing during my searches about this.

There are some ways to call BAPI functions on SAP. First one; you can use librfc32.dll for non-unicode and librfc32u.dll for unicode applications, in order to call function modules remote on SAP. Second one; you can create C++ BAPI proxy classes by using SAP Assistant which is delivered by SAPGUI. This is hardest way. Since simplfy the development, I strongly recommend that you develop "Tcp Server application". You can find several samples on internet, about it.
Second question is "is there a way to inject own functions e.g. via DLL?". The answer is yes but no. Do not confuse regarding my answer. This is because, you can use remote threading (named as injection) in order to perform functions on the instance. I said "no" also, because kernel functions are not well documented. So, SAP do not support plug-in development at kernel level by 3rd parties (unless you deal with SAP). I worked about remote threading issue on SAP, previously. All in all, it depends how you have dominated know-how about remote threading.
Third answer is; the best way to be read files by SAP is storing files on application server level. So you can share that directory and perform your functions successfully with the required authorizations.

(How) Can I include Long Texts in Reports or Queries?

Hello,
We need to send our vendors their contract details including some of the long texts data.
So far we were sending excel spreadsheets to the vendors without the long texts. Is there some way we can start sending the spreadsheets to our vendors adding few extra columns for the long texts. Some of the vendors contracts have 20+ lines of data in the long texts.
Are there any better or easier ways than excel spreadsheets?
Is any kind of query development possible where long texts can be included?

Sorry friends for not communicating my requirement clearly. I am aware of the functions to retrieve the long texts data for purchase orders/contracts.
I need some help in downloading the data to excel sheets. I believe there are restrictions in the number of characters that can be accomodated in a excel column, so I am not sure if very long texts (say >500 lines & 72 chars each) can be wrapped around within a excel column.
Also can a query be written to extract long texts, or can long texts, >500 lines & 72 chars each, be displayed using ALVs?
