You will need to use mozilla firefox and the greasemonkey plugin and then the script found at or near:http://userscripts.org/topics/1792 http://userscripts.org/topics/1792 . using this setup you can force most flash pages to low quality.
Take note adobe, if you keep enforcing your ideas and ideals on me i will disable the flash interpreter for all but the pages that require it to be able to read them.
i'm tired of ads on web pages using 95% of my cpu (yeah thats right bigpond i'm watching you). for a start you havn't asked my permission to use my cpu and you aren't paying the electricty bill or my bandwith bill which you would need to do to be able to legally force this.
Also do not moderate or change my post as this will only increase my distaste with your company.
I should also note that this doesn't stop developer from inserting code in thier flash content that a. sets the flash quality to high and b. removes the quality menu from the client.
I have seen this done for a competition from a company in australia.
As soon as this activity becomes widespread the plugin will be disabled as i stated above. And i will request a non flash content version from that website as they may not force me to use flash and i believe there may be legal repurcussions to any entity that tries to force thier customers to use flash.
Anyone having the same problem and feeling the same way about flash please feel free to post below.

It is not Flash Player that inserts ads onto websites, but the site owners. If you don't like these ads, don't visit their websites.

You should check that the Project settings match the clip settings before editing them to the Timeline.
Only newly created Projects will change not existing ones by adjusting the Project settings.
If, for example, you have a Project set to NTSC DV you can only end up in trouble if the clips are PAL 1920 x 1080i.

Flash Player not working on Firefox, playing everything low quality on Chrome

Running Windows 7 64-bit
I was using Firefox and starting to watch a video on YouTube, and set it to 720p fullscreen. However, I noticed that the video was oddly low quality for 720p, and then I looked at the YouTube player bar and saw that even that was fuzzy and low quality. I tried to update to the latest version of Flash Player - the first time I got an error, but it seemed to install fine afterwards. I started up Firefox again and nothing using flash was working. Websites told me to install Flash Player. I am aware that this is a known issue, but I tried using Chrome instead and Flash Player worked just fine on that, except it was still low quality. I can't seem to find an option to change to high quality, and it still isn't working on Firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I control flash object with captivate play head?

I am a learner to the captivate.
I am having problem with animation-audio synching with captivate paly head. When I inserted an animation to the slid, It does not synch with the play head. So I lose the control of pause, next. I tried out synch to project option but it didn’t work out.
Can anybody help me in this. Should I write any script in animation or any widget is there…
I am using flash6 and captivate 5.5.

Nothing to do with button becoming inactive, really, but with the way the Effects are scripted. Will try to answer your question about the buttons however.
I'll try to explain the functionality of a button. A button typically has a pausing point that is visible on the timeline, right? The portion before the pausing point is the 'active' portion, which will mean that the user can click on the button and this will have results. When you click on a button, the action attached as Success action is triggered, in this example the Text Caption is set to visible. But at the same time the playhead is released and moves beyond the pausing point into the Inactive portion, which means that it cannot be clicked again.
Two possible solutions:
use a rollover caption instead of your click/text captions work flow.
Create a small advanced action BtShow1 and BtShow2 for each of the buttons, again I have screenshots ready but they are not accepted, bummer.... Will try to write the statements:
Show Text_1      for the first button, shows the correct Caption
Hide Text_2       hides the other caption that could have been shown by the other button
Assign rdcmndGotoFrame with rdinfoCurrentFrame            this expression puts back the playhead directly before the pausing point so that button remains active
You can duplicate this action to create Btn2, and you only have to reverse the ID's of the Text Captions
When you attach those actions to the buttons, you can click as many times as you want. You tell that you have searched the forums? Bit strange because I have been explaining this so many times, and blogged about this kind of micro-navigation (frame by frame):

How to prevent flash intro to be played each time

Ive bought recently a flash header for my website. Its mailny
purpose is to look good and provide me a menu. So basicly the
header is flash, the rest of the site is html.
Now, my problem is that id like to like the intro of flash to
be played only once, when user is visiting my site for the first
time, not every time he presses a menu button causing the flash to
be reloaded. I couldn't achive it with action script so i made 2
versions of flash. One original with intro, second with only last
frames. The first one is being played on main site, the second in
all other cases. Its a caveman aproach, i know. And still im being
hit by the intro every time i go back to main site.
Is there any way to achive my goal in one flash with action
script?

use frames, have the flash menu in a top frame, and the body
in a bottome frame, with no borders and right spacing you cant tell
its frames, but it needs to be.

DVD plays at lower quality after building to dvd out of encore?

I shoot DSLR HD video, edit in Premier Pro CS6, Dynamic Link to Encore CS6 where I build my dvd menu's ect. and export/build to DVD. But when playing the DVD back on a DVD player the quality seems quit lower than the original footage as well as softer, almost as if a soft focus was applied. When the subject or person in the video makes fast moments there seems to be motion blurr as well even when I shoot at faster shutter speeds.
I know I can get way better output quality but can't seem to it done.

As true as your statement is, would it not then render a good quality 720x480 DVD format, even by DVD standards as your parent file was 1920x1080p. When I look at other DVD's shot and edited the same way as mine I still see a big quality difference, theirs being better render than mine.
Then you look at a DVD that you would rent from your local DVD shop, the qualities great. Even the indie films made on a low budget and DSLR's or season 5 of House
(that to my knowledge was also shot with Canon 5D's) the qualities excellent. How do they manage to scale down to 720x480 but still keep the quality?

Firefox opens flash content in wrong size and bad quality.

I created flash content (virtual tour) in fixed size 800x600. There is a script which opens the content in new window but Mozilla opens just a cropped part of it. Even after maximizing the content the flash remains still cropped. There is also a problem with images inside the content because they are played in low quality. Other browsers do not have this problem and also screens with higher resolution (desktops) show it correctly on Mozilla.
Any suggestions?

My iphone still plays songs with lower quality instead of 256kbps

I enabled iTunes match on my iPad and iPhone 4S. However, it already
has my songs already synced on them and when I play songs it plays at
lower quality than at 256kbps as claimed by Apple.
One option is to delete all the songs on the iPad and iPhone. But that
will require me to delete every song individually. How do I solve this
problem?

When you turn on iTunes match on your iOS device it should warn you that it is going to delete your songs. You will then need to redownload the ones you want to listen to from the cloud.

DVD Playing Low Quality?

Ok, so I watch DVDs on my laptop.
I am also one who hates to watch videos in HD/High Quality.
(Especially if the information states the video is High Quality)
Correct me if I am wrong but the information specifies that this DVD is 720 by 576.
This is definetely not the case when playing the DVD on DVD Player and VLC Player.
Is it the disc drive, or the fact that the DVDs dont allow high quality to be played on a Mac.
I also played it on a windows desktop computer and this also played in low quality, so.
I know this is probably not a problem with the disc drive or operating system or software used to play the disc or the disc itself (I tried other discs too).
But does anyone know if you can play a 720 x 576 DVD in 720 x 576 ?

Possible to force Flash to default to "low" quality setting globally??!!

I really hate all the flash-laden websites around these days. I know that it is the way of the present, but is there a way to force the Flash plugin to default to the low quality resolution setting globally? I would do backflips of joy if that were the case. I have searched high and low for a solution, but I have found none.

Try using VLC Media Player 2.0.6. EasyWMA 3.3.5 or Music Converter 1.5.1 should be able to convert them to .mp3.

Okay so this is basically driving me up the wall. I have a brand new computer with everything up to date but it just won't show some flash objects. They show up as a black object with the pages background colour usually. However if say I went to youtube their player works perfect. I checked around and this vid I am trying to watch and an interactive aquarium I used to use, works for everything else but 5 people I know. So here are two screen shots of my problem:

Now what is weird about the aquarium is that though I cannot see the larger flash I can see my own signature size flash of it. Ah hard to explain just take a look here, if anyone replies to that thread I am the Thraxen and posted first at the very top of the page.
Same with on my profile on said site there is a mini aquarium which I can make larger and I can still see it.
You may say it is just that site but take a look below. I could keep listing more sites but it keeps going.

So basically all I had to do was go to the page where the flash was, for instance my Gaia aquarium and right click. I then clicked roughly in the middle I right click and got this: (click the image for the larger one)
Click settings.
Now do you see how it says how much storage there should be? Mine said "None"
So I just used the slider and changed it to this:
Once set to unlimited (You could limit it but to be honest who cares as long as it works) I pressed "Close", then refreshed the page and it worked!!!!
