How to Superimpose Video without adjusting Opacity?

Hi guys, so I am really new to adobe premiere elements..and video editing in general.
What I want to do is superimpose two videos on each other so that it looks as if were happening at the same time.
For an example, I don't know if any of you have watched communitychannel on youtube, but she does it all the time.
http://www.youtube.com/communitychannel#p/u/1/Xj63AUF012k at about 0:16 is an example.
It doesn't look like she adjusted the opacity or anything, and thats the effect I want to achieve.
How do I do this?
Thanks!

She is using Chroma Key to create this effect.
She shot one video of herself in front of a green screen, then used Chroma Key to make the green background transparent so that she could overlay it on another video of herself.
I walk you through how to do this, step by step, in the "Cool Tricks & Hot Tips" book for Premiere Elements. (You may also be able to find more information on it online.) It's not a terribly complicated process -- but you need to get the details right.

  • How To Play Videos Without Silverlight?

    Hey SHarePoint Fam,
I am looking to start rolling out alot of videos soon but our environment does not have Silverlight deployed in our machine images.  Is there any alternative to get videos to play without Silverlight being deployed to machines?  We are IE8 shop
    Thanks so much,

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to play video without Silverlight.
We can use the HTML 5 to achieve it, however, HTML5 is not supported by all browser (especially the old ones).
As a workaround, we can use the Video.JS  to allow your browser to parse the video tag and play the video with a flash player if your browser does not support HTML5 standards.
    More information about the video.js : http://www.videojs.com/

  • How to export video without modification

So it appears that the new iPhoto 9.5 modifies video files when exporting, even when you choose "original." I like to backup my original files without any modification. Images don't seem to be modified, but videos are; the timestamp changes and the size is smaller. Has anyone figured out an easy way to export/backup without modifying the original video files?
I've tried going into the iPhoto library and just backing up manually from there, but Apple has once again modified the file structure of the library so it's hard to figure out if you're getting all the files, or even what date you're getting. It seems to separate it by month and date of import, but not the date the actual image/video was taken.
I liked the old version where you just select a range of images/videos in iPhoto and export the originals to a backup drive without any modification.
Here's a screenshot of how it organizes the files in the library. Kind of a mess.

With past versions, when you exported as "original," it wasn't actually exporting a new file; it was copying the original file to a new location. So you were getting a bit-for-bit copy of the original. It appears to still do that with images—the copied file has the same datestamp and size as the original. By "datestamp" I mean the date you see on the file in Finder, not the embedded Exif info.
But with videos, the new version is modifying the original, making it a smaller file size, and changing the file's datestamp. If I choose "original," I should be getting a direct copy of the original, but I'm not. Instead I'm getting a modified version of it. And given the filesize change, I'm assuming it's a compressed version.
I know direct access to the library isn't supported. It's the Apple way to keep stuff like that hidden. But in the past, if I wanted to, I could view package contents and get to files I needed much more easily than the new version allows.
I'm just trying to find an easy way to back up the original video file, not a modified version of it.

  • How to render video without doubling original file size after minimal change

Using Photoshop CC, I am importing an otherwise finished H.264 960 x 540 video as a smart object and adding one tiny image for a few seconds and a transition. When I render the video, the file is over twice as large as the original (99KB to 224.6 KB). The only difference I can see is that audio saved in the original as 44.1 kHz mono, is saved in the new version as 48 kHz stereo.  Please can you help me find out how can I render the video whilst maintaining the original quality without increasing the file size so much?  Thank you.

You will have to read up on video compression on a general level. This is not something anyone can answer in a short forum post. It all comes down to what encoding settings you actually used when rendering, none of which you have tolds us. also be aware the recompressing an already compressed clip will always result in more compression artifacts and loss of quality with the same output settings. Inevitably you will actually want to use higher datarates to not completely degenerate your existing footage. Well, anyway, seriously do some web search. Plenty of stuff to find on the subject.

  • How to insert video without affecting audio on Mac

I'm trying to insert video but it keeps displacing my audio in soundtrack.  I hold the alt button as it says in help instructions but it doesn't work.  How do I do this seems a simple thing a program like this should do.

    Welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you are running up against PrE's default to do a Ripple Edit, when you want an Insert Edit. The modifier key to use to toggle between Ripple and Insert, is Ctrl (on a PC, which should translate to the Cmd key on the mac). If the Ctrl key is held down, then the editing process becomes an Insert Edit.
Let us know if that works, and good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] Steve, thanks for affirming that it IS the Cmd key on the Mac.

  • How to watch videos without flash player

In my office they disabled flash player so i can't watch any videos

HTML5 on YouTube only works if the video is available in a supported format and fails for MP4 file of H.264 videos.
Maybe consider Google Chrome as that comes with its own video.

  • How to import Video without a firewire!

I have a Canon PowerShot SD750 brand new. I installed the software and was able to upload photos and film but I could not import it from a file into imovie HD.
I was told not to install the regular software when I was at the Apple store so I took it off and usng a usb could not even get my macbook pro to recognize the camera.
According to the help section on i movie I need to use a firewire cable but my camera did not come with one. Any ideas?

iMovie '06 can only import from Firewire connected DV camcorders and the built-in iSight camera directly. For other devices, you need to copy the video clips onto your harddisk, convert them into a suitable format for iMovie '06, and then import the movies into a iMovie '06 project.
When you plug the camera in, it should show up as an external drive. iPhoto will probably pop up and ask you if you want to import photos from the camera. iPhoto should copy the movies, too, and you can then export them from your iPhoto library. Or copy them directly from your camera using Finder.
Now start an iMovie project, and try importing the clips. If iMovie doesn't recognize the format, convert the clips first to DV or H.264 using an application like MPEG Streamclip.
If you have iMovie '08, you can probably eliminate a step or two from the procedure above. It will recognize movies in your iPhoto library.

  • How to watch video without Flash Player

What alternative do I have if IPad does not support Flash Player?  I want to stream to my tv using apple tv but keep getting an error message that it's not supported.

Some alternate browsers in the App Store can display some Flash content. Search the App Store for those.
If the content is in your tube, use the YouTube app instead of Safari. Safe for Facebook. Use the Facebook app.

  • How can i transfer videos without losing the sound to my iPhone 3G?

    Hi
I have bought my iPhone 3G yesterday. I have found out how to transfer music from iTunes however i can't transfer videos. I'm selecting the videos i want to transfer on the videos tab after i chose my iphone from the side menu and pressing apply. iTunes says that its syncing my iphone but it doesnt transfer the videos.
Lately i have found out a function on the advanced menu for movies as "create iphone or ipod version". When i used that it transfered that video to my iPhone however the sound was completely lost besides that action takes too much time(around 10 mins for a 3 min video and i have a pretty strong computer).
How can i transfer videos without losing the sound to my iPhone 3G?

One thing I'd recommend is that you make sure the video/audio you're trying to transfer falls within the guidelines listed in the 'Video' section here:
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html
What's most likely happening is that the file is not converted as such so when you try to transfer it, it's wanting to convert it but is unable to for any number of reasons.
There's software out there that might make this easier for you but I can't recommend anything specifically.

  • I was trying to get the iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5 but then it stopped and my phone is now on recovery mode I have pictures I need and they did not all fit on iCloud  how can I use the phone again with ALL my pictures and videos without restoring it?

I was trying to get the iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5 but then it stopped and my phone is now on recovery mode I have pictures I need and they did not all fit on iCloud  how can I use the phone again with ALL my pictures and videos without restoring it?

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes?  If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

  • How to watch flash based videos without adobe flash installed using Safari

How do I watch flash based videos without adobe flash installed using Safari?

Once you have Chrome installed, activate the Develop menu in Safari (go to Safari Preferences > Advanced > Show Develop Menu). You then will see under the Develop menu the Open Page With option and Chrome will be listed there.
So each time you open a page with Safari requiring Flash, you use that menu option to open the same page in Chrome.

  • How can I add photos to a video without interrupting the sound of the original video?

In PE11, How can I add photos to a video without interrupting the sound of the original video?

Thanks for getting your details posted. Good job.
    You further explained
I am simply wanting to “overlay” a new visual element without disturbing the underlying audio.
A classical way to do a Premiere Elements Overlay is to hold down the Ctrl key of the computer main keyboard and drag the new clip over the area of the one you want to replace on the Timeline. That should not do anything but replace one portion of the video on the Timeline. No change in duration video or audio track if you are dealing with video linked to audio.
If you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, I am envising a scenario where you want to add to (not replace) some Timeline content.
A just in case note, if you have video on Video 1 and 2 and the video in 2 does not have transparent areas in it, then all you will see is the Video 2 content. I believe that Hunt eluded to that concept as a possible technique for what you might be doing.
Another just in case, if you have not seen the following Adobe documentation on arranging clips, you might be interested in the following link

If you can view a ProRes 4-2-2 video at all, then you either have the independent ProRes422 Playback component installed or the FCP "Pro" video components installed.

Check your "~/Library/QuickTime" folder for your various "Pro" components. If in doubt that you have them all, re-run the FCP installer and it should add any missing components, apps, or utilities.

Sounds like the wifi isn't processing the data fast enough for video streaming.  Have you tried resetting your wifi hub ?  Switch it off for a couple of minutes and then restart it.  See if that makes any difference.

  • How can I get my videos without pay again ???

I restored my Ipod Video with the Ipod Updater, and then lost some videos that purchased at the ipod store. how can I get without pay again ???

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Restoring erases everything on your iPod. The videos should still be in iTunes though.
If they are not, then unfortunately, you have lost them.
You may want to search the discussions for recovery methods though.
