OK/INFO - 1200658 - The formula for member [SU.XYYY] is Complex. If possible, add a non-empty directive to optimize for sparse data..
OK/INFO - 1200658 - The formula for member [RL.AAAA] is Complex. If possible, add a non-empty directive to optimize for sparse data..
OK/INFO - 1200658 - The formula for member [SU.BBBB] is Complex. If possible, add a non-empty directive to optimize for sparse data..

2- show alert -P "MESSAGE_TEXT LIKE '%ORA-%'" -term : to find all the ORA-% errors in the alert file
3- show alert -P "MESSAGE_TEXT LIKE '%ORA-%' and originating_timestamp > systimestamp-51 " -term : to find all the ORA-% errors in the alert file during the last 51 days,
4- show alert -P "MESSAGE_TEXT LIKE '%ORA-%' and originating_timestamp > systimestamp-1/24 " -term : to find all the ORA-% errors in the alert file during the last hour,
5- show alert -P "MESSAGE_TEXT LIKE '%ORA-12012%' and originating_timestamp > systimestamp-1/24 " -term : to find the particular ORA-12012 error in the alert file during the last hour,

How can I generate and/or retrieve log files from iPad
How can I generate and/or retrieve log files from iPad?
OBS!
There are NO files apearing in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<name of iPad> so where else can i find it?
I want to force it to produce a log, or find it within the iPad.
It is needed for support of an app.Not sure on porting out the log data, but you can find it under General->About->Diagnostic&Usage->Diagnostic&Usage Data. It will give you a list of your log data, and you can get additional details by selecting the applicable log you are looking for. Hope this helps.

How to increase the size of Redo log files?
Hi All,
I have 10g R2 RAC on RHEL. As of now, i have 3 redo log files of 50MB size. i have used redo log size advisor by setting fast_start_mttr_target=1800 to check the optimal size of the redologs, it is showing 400MB. Now, i want to increase the size of redo log files. how to increase it?
If we are supposed to do it on production, how to do?
I found the following in one of the article....
"The size of the redo log files can influence performance, because the behavior of the database writer and archiver processes depend on the redo log sizes. Generally, larger redo log files provide better performance, however it must balanced out with the expected recovery time.Undersized log files increase checkpoint activity and increase CPU usage."
I did not understand the the point however it must balanced out with the expected recovery time in the above given paragraph.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks,
Praveen. You dont have to shutdown the database before dropping redo log group but make sure you have atleast two other redo log groups. Also note that you cannot drop active redo log group.
Here is nice link,
http://www.idevelopment.info/data/Oracle/DBA_tips/Database_Administration/DBA_34.shtml
And make sure you test this in test database first. Production should be touched only after you are really comfortable with this procedure. -

Edited by: Deepak23 on Oct 24, 2007 11:16 PMOne of my standard answers (which will explain the use of Directory Objects)...
The UTL_FILE_DIR parameter has been deprecated by oracle in favour of direcory objects because of it's security problems.
The correct thing to do is to create a directory object e.g.:
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY mydir AS 'c:\myfiles';Note: This does not create the directory on the file system. You have to do that yourself and ensure that oracle has permission to read/write to that file system directory.
Then, grant permission to the users who require access e.g....
GRANT READ,WRITE ON DIRECTORY mydir TO myuser; Then use that directory object inside your FOPEN statement e.g.
fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR', 'myfile.txt', 'r');Note: You MUST specify the directory object name in quotes and in UPPER case for this to work as it is a string that is referring to a database object name which will have been stored in uppercase by default. -

Does it enumerate all URLs that are embedded in a flash file's

Actually, I have 10 redo log files exists. All of them are here.
I tried your suggestion:

I have more than 1 TB data stored and 99.9% of them are raster images.
The loading of these data were the headache. If I can save them, I can bear the lost.

How to know the history of shrinking log files in mssql
hello,
In my SAP system some one shrinked the log file to 100 GB to 5 GB.How we would check when this
was shrinked recently .
Regards,
ARNS.hi,
Did u check the logfile in sapdirectory. There will be entry of who changed the size and the time.
Also,
Goto the screen where we usually change the logfile size.In that particular field press f1 and goto technical setting screen. Get the program name , table name and field name.
Now using se11 try to open the table and check whether the changed by value is there for that table.
Also open the program and debug at change log file process block.use can see in which table it update the changes.
There is a case of caution in this case.
The size of the application server's System Log is determined by the
following SAP profile parameters. Once the current System Log reaches
the maximum file size, it gets moved to the old_file and and a new
System Log file gets created. The number of past days messages in the
System Log depends on the amount/activity of System Log messages and the
max file size. Once messages get rolled off the current and old files,
they are no longer retrievable.

SQL - How to attach FileStream enabled db without log file
I'm trying to attach a FileStream enabled database without a log file. My SQL looks something like this:
USE master
CREATE DATABASE MyDB
ON PRIMARY(NAME = N'MyDB', FILENAME = 'C:\myDB.MDF' ),
FILEGROUP myFileGroup CONTAINS FILESTREAM ( NAME = myData, FILENAME = 'C:\myFileGroup')
For Attach
Here is the error I'm receiving:
Msg 5173, Level 16, State 3, Line 2
One or more files do not match the primary file of the database.
If you are attempting to attach a database, retry the operation with the correct files.
If this is an existing database, the file may be corrupted and should be restored from a backup.
Does anyone know if it's possible to attach a FileStream enabled database without the original log file? Thanks!Hi cgregory,
The error might occur if the database is not shutdown cleanly. In this case, log file is required, or, you will have some data lost. Please pay attention to this thread addressing this type of issue:
attaching DB without .ldf file ???
For attach a database with FILESTREAM enabled, please refer to this article:

umeshHow often should a database archive its logs
Re: Redo log size increase and performance
Please read the above thread and great replies by HJR sir. I think if you wish to get concept knowledge, you should add in your notes.
"If the FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET parameter is set to limit the instance recovery time, Oracle automatically tries to checkpoint as frequently as necessary. Under this condition, the size of the log files should be large enough to avoid additional checkpointing due to under sized log files. The optimal size can be obtained by querying the OPTIMAL_LOGFILE_SIZE column from the V$INSTANCE_RECOVERY view. You can also obtain sizing advice on the Redo Log Groups page of Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control."

How to calculate storage space for archive log files and database backups?
Hi all,
I have a 1.8 terabyte Oracle 9i database and need to plan for how much additional disk space I will need to perform nightly backups and for archivelog files. Is there a script or formula available that can help me estimate how much required disk space I will need to hold a days worth of archived logs as well as a nightly export dump file and a full hot RMAN backup on disk?
Thanks!I'm not sure how to estimate the size of your backups, especially if you use incrementals. However, the space required for archive logs will be equal to the amount of REDO your DB generates. I would count the number of log switches per day with a query like the following:
select trunc(first_time), count(*)
from v$log_history
group by trunc(first_time)
I would then take the average and multiply this count by the size of your redo log files (assuming they are all the same size).
