How to switch ON/OFF Unassigned Hierarchy Nodes during Query Runtime?

We have a GL Account Hierarchy based on an FSV that we use in BW reports.
All our reports are web reports accessible via BW Portal.
This hierarchy has an Unassigned Node also that we have suppressed (switched off) for display via Hierarchy Attributes Settings.
When you check the Suppress Unassigned Node box the unassigned nodes do not show on the report.
This has been working fine so far until we have this one requirement where user would like to see unassigned GL Accounts also.
We would like to check/uncheck this flag (Supress Unassigned Node) during the query run time.
Is there a way to control showing/hiding of unassigned node of a hierarchy during query runtime?

Hi Ram,
If you have set hierarchy attribute as display unassigned node, then you can simply select the root as filter in order not to display the unassignd node.
However if you have set hierarchy attribute as suppress unassigned node, then you can't choose the unassigned node by the filter.
So if users want both, you need to set hierarchy attribute as display unassigned node. You cannot really change this setting at runtime by user.

There is no way to simpy switch data off and on with the Vivaz handset I'm afraid. However my best suggestion would be to create a dummy data account on the handset. If you set this as the account you wish to use when browsing the Internet through your network operator, it will be unable to connect. If you are using Wi-Fi, this will mean that if you go out of range, the handset will not be able to switch to your mobile network data.
This can be done by following these steps:
Settings > Connectivity > Destinations > Access Point > Add New > Packet Data > Name the account (for example, Dummy account) > Select Internet.
Once set up, go into Internet within Destinations and set the dummy account as priority 2 for Internet behind your Wi-Fi connection.
I'd also recommend tapping your Data Internet connection, selecting Edit and ensuring 'Use Access Point' has 'After Confirmation' written under it. This will ensure you are asked if you wish to use that connection before it automatically connects.

Technically the MBA's camera is called its "FaceTime" camera. The "iSight" name was dropped some years ago and now refers only to the iPhone's rear camera, and I'm assuming you are not referring to the external, FireWire iSight camera or its LED.
For privacy concerns Apple decided to make software control of the FaceTime camera's LED impossible. If the LED is off, so is the camera.
Stick tape over the LED as Klaus1 wrote. There is no other way to disable it, without physically disassembling the camera, potentially destroying it in the process.

How to provide a list of Hierarchy-nodes for selections?

Hi specialists,
some of our users often want to use some hierarchy-node-values from one report as filter of a 2nd report.
For all non-hieararhy-values it is possible to do that using the clipboard.
But there seems not to be a way to do the same with hierarchy-nodes.
Is there any workaround to reach that target?
Btw: I'm talking about users using the BEx 3.5 Analyzer.

There is no option for turning off the start-up sound (which is actually meant to signal the end of a successful hardware check). I believe there are (or used to be) third party gadgets which might turn it off, but I always shy away from such things.
The simplest solution is to mute your sound before you shutdown/restart.

How to find direct & indirect BW hierarchy nodes?

Is there a class or function module that would allow me to find the direct and indirect sub-nodes in a hierarchy?
For example, I have a time and version dependent hierarchy for company (coming from SEM-BCS).
I would like to pick a node (node A) and find out all the direct and indirect nodes beneath node A.
HIEID
+ Node A
+ + Node B
+ + Node C
+ + + Node D
+ Node E.
So if I input node A, I would get back Nodes B, C and D but not E (E is at same level as A).
I can loop through the hierarchy tables and find this, but I'm curious if there is an existing FM or method to do this already. No sense in re-writing existing code.

Thanks, that FM is very useful.
Because the hierarchy I was working with originates in SEM-BCS, I was able to use the BCS master data factory to ultimately get what I needed.
The BCS delivered logic can be viewed in CL_UC_SSCR_GENERATE_GUI and method PROCESS_USER_SELECTION. It uses the BCS selection context + the consolidation group (aka Hierarchy Node) to determine the lower level consolidation groups which must also be provided in the selection criteria when querying data.
It's more complex than seems necessary, but it's using the BCS hierarchy data rather than the BW hierarchy data, which is probably a good thing.

Hierarchy Node- Overall query result

I have a query with hierarchy nodes. For example

overall result

ASA
ACEI
Measure set 2
HF
AMI
In the above result the option I chose for node position is ABOVE and I get the overall result below Measure.
But i need the following result:
Measure
Measure set 1
ASA
ACEI
Measure set 2
HF
AMI
overall result
I get the desired query if my option is Node selection 'BELOW' but the result is different which is not how I wanted
Measure
ASA
ACEI
Measure set 1
HF
AMI
Measure set 2
overall result
The actual scenario has arrow marks shown upwards or downwards but hope the overall picture is clear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have the same requirement. And i think this is how the output is going to be(ie. the overall result row at the top) when you use the option Node Position 'Above'. I don't think it is directly possible in BEx to have the Overall Result at the end with the option Node position 'Above'.

How did I reconcile the values whether that value is available in hierarchy or corresponding value's for plan data is available in the cube,pls give me clues

Could you please share the steps you have taken to fix the problem?
We do have a similar problem and for some reason the newly added hierarchy node for 0Profit_ctr is not showing up in the variable selection screen F4 (input selection for query execution). However we can see this node when we display that hierarchy in RSA1. I did try applying the changes recommened by Jerome but unfortunately it didn't work.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

The AirPorts do not have a feature to control power-on/power-off the base station itself, although, you can control access to it based on time. For what you are looking for, you may want to consider using a timer which you can plug the AirPort into.

"Local snapshots" takes up all resources - how to switch it off?

I have a MBP 2,4 GHz Intel Corde Duo 2, 4 GB Ram, 500 GB HD, Time Macine and on Lion. I want to switch off Local Snapshots as it takes all my CPU an Mem however the Terminal command sudo tmutil disablelocal only holds until the next reboot. Rebootking takes forever and indexing should be far behind me as well. I would be grateful for any hints on how to swith Local Snapshots off permanently and how to get back to the performance I was used to under SL.

Since I usually only login after a reboot, it helped to define the following apple script and to add it to the start up items:
tell application "Terminal"
activate
do script "sudo tmutil disablelocal" in 0
end tell
open Utilities -> Apple Script Editor
Type in the script above
save it as an application
Open System Preferences -> Users and Groups -> Login Items
Select the current User and - in the left column- click "+"
Then select your new script.
The draw back will be that each time you log in you will be prompted for your super user password. So it will be annoying if you log in frequently. But at least you will not forget to turn off snapshots after a reboot.

WEB: How to filter a Dataprovider by hierarchy nodes

We have in our web template 2 dataproviders, one to show a table with different ratios for a PRODUCT, and another to show one Ratio by product but USING HIerarchy.
I am tring to create an HTTP url to filter by characteristic product (which is not a problem) and also to filter the hierarchy but a node.
Right now I am using the following commandad:

How set up visualization attributes for Hierarchy nodes?

I have a hierarchy for 0ACCOUNT and i see in the report the hierarchy totally expanded but in the Query Designer i can
set the values for 0ACCOUNT to show the ID only for every account but the hierarchy have more nodes (text nodes in addition to accounts) i need that ONLY TEXT NODES show the Description of Text Nodes instead of Technical Node ID........in query designer you could set for accounts that show Text, ID or both but in for text nodes there´s no way to do this.......in Query execution you could set up this with extended menu....and you could set up that only shows Text for Hierechy nodes.....I hope somebody could help me with this...

You are right, the only way to do that is save the query as workbook, then setup the description, text, etc in the workbook , and finally save the workbook in the way you want to view.

I have to create a variable as to where the user ca input the node of hierarchy in his selection at the start. Do we have to create a new variable ?
I have the hierarchy loaded for that infoobject. I tried creating a new variable but the when I select from drop down as varaibles and name of the hierarchy no variables shows up.
