Hi all,
I have an imac, a mbp and a mba all running on Lion.
Is there a way to sync all 3 macs together?
Things i want to sync are outlook, iphoto and some folders.

If you're feeling intrepid, here's a way to manually install the plugin:
1-Obtain the plug-in installer from Nokia. Open the dmg archive.
2-Right-click on the installer package itself (not the dmg archive). Select "show package contents" from the contextual menu.
3-Open the Contents folder.
4-Drag the item "Archive.pax.gz" to the desktop.
5-Right-click on Archive.pax.gz and open it with "Archive Utility"
6-You'll see a folder called "Library" on the desktop. Inside this Library folder you'll see a "PhonePlugins" folder. Inside this PhonePlugins folder is a folder with a name that probably begins with "Nokia_" (For instance, for my n79, the name of this folder is "Nokia_N79_isync_plugin_2v1.phoneplugin"). Drag the Nokia_ folder to a pre-existing folder in the following location:
Mac HD (or whatever you name your primary hard drive)/Library/PhonePlugins. If the PhonePlugins folder doesn't already exist, you may create one in the path above.
7- So, what you should end up with is: Mac HD/Library/PhonePlugins/Nokia_...

You can right click your device name in iTunes and transfer purchases back to the computer. As far as calendars & contacts, you need to enter one event/contact on your computer for the data to merge.
In the future, it would be prudent to back your Mac up to an external hard drive using Time Machine.

Everything I have read has said that I need to connect a USB cable to my phone to sync it wirelessly. That isn't wireless syncing if you need to connect a wire. Connect the phone to your computer using USB, click on the name of the iPhone, then check the box in iTunes "Sync with thie iPhone over WiFi". After doing that once you can sync over WiFi. You need to do it the first time to "pair" the phone with the computer. Without this step anyone with an iPhone could access your computer's iTunes library at any Starbuck's.

We have apple TV and it's already synced with my boyfriend's macbook and his iTunes and iphoto libraries. Is it possible to sync with my libraries too? Both iTunes and iPhoto?

I would actually make an addendum to the above question but I fear I already know the answer since I looked in the Support section for the Apple TV. So...there is no way...what so ever...to have multiple iTunes Accounts set up to Home Share on one Apple TV, correct? This, honestly, makes me very angry because the original Apple TV, while you could only sync one iTunes Library, would allow you to stream from multiple libraries. Now I'm unable to stream my iTunes content to the Apple TV in the living room, only the one in my bedroom as the living room is signed in with my room mate's information.

Depending your OS, you can do it through iCloud, through iTunes 'info' tab when your device is connected. You can do it through an email account if that's what calendar is set up to use.

Hi, I know this question has been asked a lot but for some reason I could not get a clear understanding of what everyone was talking about and my situation might be a tad different.
So I already had an iPhone that was synced to my dell PC. I just got a new macbook pro retina and now I'm trying to transfer my contacts, movies, and music to my mac from my iPhone. However I keep getting a message that says if I sync to this mac then all of my stuff will be deleted from my iPhone. (I am now aware that they mean only iTunes content, but those are still important to me). I still own my PC but there is no way I can connect my PC and Mac together. Is there a way possible that I could "unsync" my iPhone to my PC and sync it to the Mac without erasing the stuff from my iPhone? Are there other methods of syncing my iPhone to my new mac? My last question is that is it possible to transfer purchases from my mac to my iPhone even if it is or isn't synced to the PC or erased of content?
Hopefully this sounds coherent, and thank you all in advance for your help. I'm new to all of this and I really appreciate your time.

It is designed so syncing is one way only (with the exception of iTunes Store purchases) computer to phone. You need to transfer the library from the old computer to the new one so the phone is syncing back to the same library it used to or else it will request you erase the phone.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its sub-folders and files) intact to the other drive. Hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) and open iTunes. At the prompt to create or choose a library choose the copied iTunes folder.
You can use flash drive for copying, breaking it down into chunks if necessary but making sure they get re-assembled correctly again.
If this is to a new computer and you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

We are two people using three difrent Macs, 1 Iphone and 1 Ipad with separate USERS on each Mac but sharing the same Apple ID: xxxxxx
I set up the first user to iCloud and it was OK but when I set up the second user to use iCoud the first users's info gets mixed with the second user's info?
Do we have to set up a diffrent Apple ID for each other?
Sometime ago I added my friends E mail (yyyyy) to the main Apple ID (xxxx) as for using his E mail account (to separate our e mail accounts, and it's working ok) but now when I try to create a new apple ID whith the same friend's e mail (yyyyyy) it says that his mail (yyyyy) is already an apple ID when the Apple ID is really my E mail (xxxxx)... any clue?

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

ICloud - how to sync content on two macs into one account?

I have multiple devices and I plan to start migrating my stuff into the iCloud. I am trying to do this step by step and I am running into a lot of challenges. I am hoping to find some help for me to sync my second mac to my account.
1. I chose to use my MobileMe account as my iCloud ID, so that my MobileMe stuff gets to the cloud. Not my Apple ID.
2. I then sync'd my old macbook with my iPhone 4 - all apps on the computer does to the phone. All my photos show up too. So far so good.
3. I then login to my mac mini, and use the same iCloud Apple ID. But, the apps on the laptop and the phone just does not show up here - even after I went to Preference and select sync Music, Apps and Books.
4. I later use this mac mini and downloaded some iTunes U podcast. I connect it to the iphone 4 device, it started to sync. The instance it finished sync'ing, the cloud erase all of it. It's an infinite loop that it keeps copying and deleting the podcast.
Question: How can I sync my mac mini to the same iCloud account? Other than logging in with the same Apple ID. I am not sure what else I can do.

OSX apps are not "synced", neither the ibooks, music or apps from iOS are. They are held available for you in iOS' appstore and Mac Appstore to re-download them later again. Apps,books,etc do not appear in your personal cloud at all. They are not part of your 5GB account.
Music/Video purchases from iTunes in the cloud are not available in every country.

using the same Apple-ID you use on your other iCloud devices, this is the way to sync. Nothing wrong there.
