How to sync from google email/contacts/calendar to iphone 4s?

I'm concerned about android security and my company has more apps on the iphone(including corporate vpn) so i'm leaning on going to an iphone from a blackberry.
However, I love google mail/calendar/apps and use yahoo calendar too(occasionally). I even use voice.google.com.
Can i use the iphone to sync(if not 2 ways, then at least one way between the google "cloud" to the iphone 4s.
I believe if one sets up the iphone as an "exchange device" this should work?
I just don't want my iphone to wipe out my google contacts/calendar or override them. This happened once with my blackberry.
I don't plan on using the iphone to edit/add/contacts --- with the small keyboard and screen --- my fingers are too big for the keyboard.
I don't have a mac.
Thanks for your advice.

Thanks Csound1...yes i have tried that with my family member's ipod itouch...earlier this week...still verifying that(I have to borrow the ipod itouch from my family member)......what about voice.google.com?

  • How can I sync my google/gmail contacts with my iphone 4s?

Just got an iphone today. Never used one before. Always only had droids. Looked online for how to sync google contacts with iphone, but the instructions I found didn't work for me. They said to go to itunes and select my phone from 'the list.' I see no list. I clicked on everything I saw but couldn't find any way to sync with google contacts. Any suggestions is appreciated.
P.S. All I need to do is bring my google contacts to the iphone. I don't have any iphone contacts yet so I don't need to combine them.

I think they were repyling to Ducman's suggestion, not the Google article suggestion (BTW, that article from Google is no longer needed under iOS 7, just using the standard GMail account setup in iOS now syncs your contacts).
Also, syncing contacts through iTunes is no longer possible if you're using Mavericks, in case the OP has a Mac.

  • How can I find my email contacts on my iphone

I used to be able to send emails and find my contacts but now they are not there.  I use AOL can anyone tell me how to get my contacts back on my phone?

    ckaun,
Sorry I've been out of town.  When I go to send an email where it says To: at the end of that line there is a + if I click on it, that brings up my contacts list not my email list.  There was a "head" there as well and if I clicked on it then my all my email contact list came up.  I had groups and etc so 1 click sent to all of them.  This is no longer on my iPhone, just the + sign.  That is where I am trying to find my email contacts list at.  Does this help any?
    Thanks

  • Best way to set up email/contacts/calendar on iPhone and 2 PCs?

Here's what I want to accomplish on the iPhone, at as little (no) cost as possible:
    1. Personal comcast.net email account. I currently have this configured with "Delete from server" set to "When removed from inbox". At least this way if I read and delete an email on the iPhone, it is removed from the Comcast server and will not download again onto my PC. I don't think there is a way for me to delete an email on the PC and have it sync to the iPhone like the BlackBerry can do with BIS (not BES). Correct?
    2. I would like to view my comcast.net email from any of my devices: iPhone, PC or Laptop. I'm trying to find a way to have some sort of central location or sync capabilities, so I don't wind up with 3 copies of every email and have to sort/delete them on each device. I've looked a little into Windows Live Mail or Google Mail, but don't know anything about those services.
    3. I would also like to have contacts and calendar entries sync between the iPhone, PC and Laptop. Again, I'm not sure what Windows Live or Google can do for me here. I would like to accomplish the sync without having to cable the iPhone to the PC(s).
I may wind up with 2 emails (personal and realty) and 2 contact lists and two calendars.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've searched these and other forums and only seem to confuse myself more!

Well, unless I'm missing something, I've beat the comcast email to death. Since it is a POP3 account, there's not a lot I can do with it.
On the iPhone, I have it set to delete from the server when removed from the inbox. At least that way if I delete an email on the iPhone, it should not download onto my PC later when I check mail there. It's not perfect... sometimes if the PC is on and the iPhone is on, the email winds up on both devices and I have to delete it twice. That was one benefit of the BlackBerry BIS system. If I deleted an email off my PC, and it was already downloaded to the BB, it would "sync" it and also delete it off the handheld.
As for having my comcast email on my iPhone, home PC, and laptop, I just need to manage each one seperately, choosing one device as the "main" device where I file and sort them.
I will look into Google for mail, contacts and calendar for my realty business.

  • My Mac and blackberry cant sync to my Now Contact calendar

can anyone help me figure out how to sync to my Now Contact calendar using Desktop Manager?

Think you will need to upgrade to Now X, then it will sync, as Now X uses Apple's Sync Services and so does BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac.

  • Sync email, contacts & calendar on Live, iphone, PC

I want to sync email, contacts, and calendar on my iPhone and PC just like
it did with my blackberry, but I want to use a live mail account (or gmail or
other provider if Live won't work). The iPhone web pages don't list Live email account information any more like they used to. So I'm not sure what is going on with Live email and the iPhone.
I have an iPhone 2G (just today updated to OS 3.1) with the data plan. I have a Live mail account that I'll be using if possible. I currently have the updated contact list and calendar file that I want to use in Outlook 2003 on my XP desktop computer. I want to PUSH these items onto the iPhone because they have been painfully updated (from multiple accounts from multiple pc and phone upgrades). I want to continue using Outlook on the PC if possible, but want to migrate to using my notebook (that I plan to upgrade from Vista to Win7). I want the messages to dowload to the hard drive on the notebook for archival.
I know I should upgrade the Vista machine to Win7 before I start trying to
sync these 3 devices/areas (2 devices and 1 cloud??? ;-)). Once that is accomplished, I want to sync the notebook (outlook email and calendar and contacts) with the iphone (email, contacts, calendar) and Live (email, contacts, calendar). Will opened email show as "read" on the other devices at next logon? Will calendar updates work properly from any location and propagate to the other devices? Same for Contacts: can I change one anywhere and have it properly update at the other two locations? What about deleting email messages (or contacts, or calendar items), can it be done from any of the 3 and propagate to the the other 2?
    Can it be done? How?

Google does not support Push access for recieved messages when accessing the account as an IMAP account.
Google does support Push access for recieved messages when accessing the account as an Exchange account, but Exchange/ActiveSync is a new protocol for Google.
I have no idea about service interruptions with a Gmail account, but since Exchange/ActiveSync is a new protocol for Google and still considered a Beta I believe, there are bound to be issues from time to time while Google gets the bugs worked out.
The iPhone supports Push access for recieved messages with email account providers that provide/support Push access. The iPhone also supports Fetch access with an option for automatically checking for new messages every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes, or every hour. With an account that supports Push access, you can enable or disable Push access, automatically check the account for new messages, or manually check for new messages.
Nothing personal, but what is the big deal about Push access for recieved messages? What sort of important email do you regularly recieve that must be pushed to the iPhone the instant the message is recieved at the incoming mail server - along with every other message the instant they are recieved at the incoming mail server? To each his/her own, but that would drive me nuts. Nothing I recieve via email is so important that it can't wait for the account to be automatically checked for new messages every 30 minutes (my setting), and I can always manually check the account for new messages in between the automatic check.
Just trying to help you save what amounts to $8.33/mo with a MobileMe account. I haven't read about on-going regular problems with accessing a Gmail account as an IMAP account. This provides for keeping all server stored mailboxes synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account, and you can sync contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process at no additional expense. You won't have Push access for recieved messages when accessing a Gmail account as an IMAP account, but I think you will get by A-OK having the account automatically checked for new messages along with being able to do a manual check in between the automatic check if you are expecting an email of significant importance.
And in the interim, Google may get the bugs ironed out with accessing the account as an Exchange account which you can switch to when they do - still at no charge.

  • Any ideas for how to sync to Exchange 2003 - contacts and calendar

    Hi
I am still searching for a mechanism to give me the sync solution I want, which is as follows:
At work I have a PC running Outlook 2003 via an Exchange Server 2003 setup.
At home I have an iMac running Snow Leopard
In the middle I have an iPhone 3G
I want to sync Calendar and Contacts across all three machines.
I want to sync work email between the Exchange server and the iphone, but do NOT need this to sync on my iMac at home
    That's it.
At the moment I can sync email, calendars and contacts successfully between the Exchange server and iPhone, using the over-the-air Exchange Sync on the iPhone. But sadly my iMac will not sync contacts and calendars to the exchange server 2003 as Snow Leopard only supports exchange 2007.
Ironically (because I don't need this bit to work) I have managed to get my iMac to sync with my Exchange server EMAIL, by selecting the Exchange IMAP option when setting up the mail account on my iMac (as opposed to the Exchange 2007 option). However, I cannot get iCal or Address book to sync with Exchange 2003, regardless of the options I select when setting up the new accounts in Address book or iCal. I guess these just do not work with Exchange 2003
I know that I cannot use mobileme as a solution, as you cannot have two over-the-air syncs going on, and I need to maintain my iphone link to the exchange server via activesync
I also know that using itunes to sync via the cable will not work, as this creates separate contacts and calendar files on the iphone and so does not provide the syncing solution I seek.
I have tried using google to act as the middle man between my iMac and Exchange server data - getting the iMac to sync to Google Calandar and Google Address Book, and then using a third party piece of software called gsyncit to sync from google to the .ost outlook file on my PC workstation. This works some of the time, but keeps crashing and leaving me with multiple duplicates to have to sort out - much too much hard work on a regular basis.
So I still do not have a solution. Unfortunately upgrading to Exchange server 2007 is not a solution.....
    Any new ideas out there
    Thanks

I don't think there will be a solution to this. Exchange 2003 just isn't supported.

  • As a new iPad user how do I transfer my email contacts list from my PCM to my ipad

How do I transfer my email contacts list from a laptop to my iPad?

Hi - Thanks for your response.  I have tried to find the answer in the manual, but cannot locate the exact solution.
Do I have to sync with iTunes? Does the iPhone just learn the addresses as I use it for email?  I'm confused because the "My Contacts" list that was transferred using VZ Contact Transfer is for cell phone numbers, not email addresses. But on my MacBook Pro I have "Address Book" with email addresses - that's what I want to transfer.  I'm a beginner with the iPhone - had a little basic flip-top LG for years. What a difference!!

  • Does anyone know how to upload email contacts on my iPhone from iTunes without loosing the phone contacts previously transfered from my older phone??

Does anyone know how to upload email contacts on my iPhone from iTunes without loosing the phone contacts previously transfered from my older phone??

    Good Afternoon irish357,
I know the importance of saving and updating your contacts. What type of phone do you have? If you are using Backup Assistant, you have the ability to sync the contacts between your laptop and phone. You will also be able to see if all your contacts are stored on the online portion of the application versus the phone itself. The contacts should be the same for both online and the phone.
I have attached a link below for your reference.

How do I delete stored email addresses in my iphone? When sending photos, I don't want to have certain email addresses  "popping up" from the internal memory, I've deleted my entire "Contact" list but they still appear.  Help please!

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

how do i create a contact list in adobe send from my email contact list and how do avoid typing individual email adresses

    Hi [email protected],
The e-mail addresses will not be memorized in Adobe send but will be saved in sent items.
You can use Adobe send outlook plugin to access your email contact list and send.
You can download it here:Send Large Files Online - Share, Control, Track & Manage | Adobe Send

I can not search for company 3, but thier phone number appears under company 2.

Same thing happens for me, AND when syncing with more than one service  (ie google and facebook) my original contacts that I had entered into the phone prior to the synergy sync,   get deleted.  I had to take like 2 hours and create a new gmail account and add all of my contacts 1 by 1,  and then sync the phone.   VERY frustrating, and Im kind of annoyed that the pre doesn't work with Sprint's Mobile Sync.
Other than that I do love my Pre.  ;o)
