How to sync iMessage across all iOS devices?

How do I sync iMessage across all iOS devices?

Simple solution to imessage not syncing....
I did it and I hope this solves your problems too!! My wife's devices would NOT sync imessages the way we think iMessage should sync intuitively. I figured it out and it's now working perfect from what I can tell.
Go to https://appleid.apple.com and make sure under phone numbers you have your cell phone number filled out! I deleted prior threads before testing (not sure if that was necessary) but now it's working like a charm. (might take a second to ping the phone number to the imessage server)

  • Will Apple ever enable its icloud email service to push Read emails across all iOS devices?

It is very frustrating reading an email on my iPhone yet still having notifications on my other iDevices. I am aware that once you open the Mail App the read email sync, but this is still very cumbersome and not very streamlined. (very unlike Apple).
I used to use gmail and activeSync but this service is being phased out I believe...

It is not completely clear exactly what you want to take place.  Once an email has been opened on one device it appears in all other devices using the same email account if iCloud sync for email is turned on for each device.  That is how my email works...but, of course, the Mail app has to be opened on a device for the email to show as having been opened.
Is there something else you want to see happen?

  • Messages on the Mac (10.8.4) no longer syncs with iMessages sent between iOS devices

I've been running Messages on the Mac since the Beta, and I've always had messages sync to the Mac and all iOS devices. In the last week, the Mac no longer posts imessages... only messages sent from the Mac trigger the Messages app to start tracking the message thread.
I've got my iphone number and three emails in both the Messages preferences (using my Apple ID) and on all of the iOS devices. So I should be receiving messages to four addresses (one phone number and three emails). I did get a new iPhone 5 on Wednesday, but the issue started prior to loading the new phone with my backup.

Hi, Ralph. Thanks so much for taking the time to address my discussion. While your solution did not correct the problem, it did bring clarity that it's the Mac–not the iPhone or other iOS devices–that is the entity having trouble.
While going through your solution steps on the iPhone, I decided that I should probably take the same actions on my iPad (Wi-Fi Only). When I turned to the iPad, I realized that both the iPad and the iPhone have remained in sync with all messages: only the Mac has not been posting some iMessages.
So I did perform your solutions steps, but they did not have an effect on the Mac Messages. I then removed my Apple ID from Messages on the Mac, quit Messages, and Shut Down the Mac. After a few minutes, I started the Mac, launched Messages on the Mac, and activated an iMessage account using my Apple ID. No improvement on the Mac side was realized.
I think I have the issue better isolated to... Messages on the Mac was not accepting iMessages sent to or received from my telephone number. I've always had my Messages preference set to Start Messages from my Phone number (and again on my iPad and iPhone Settings), so I'm not sure what changed.
Once I triggered a new message on the Mac starting from my Phone number and being delivered to my Phone number, the Mac seems to have regained its knowledge of iMessages–originated from an iOS device using a phone number and being sent to a phone number–that should also be synced to Messages on the Mac. I'll keep an eye on it this week before closing this discussion.

  • I need help understanding how the Apple components integrate to create a system across all my devices?

I need help understanding how the Apple components connect to create a whole system across all my devices?
Is there a resource that describes current system and associated functionality?
    For example:
    Buy A, B, C to achieve "X"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
    add D to achieve "Y"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
    add "E" to achieve "Z"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
For example, I am looking at the Gen 6 Airport extreme.  For intended performance do I need broadband? if so what are the specs, or will basic internet service suffice?  Do I need the internet provider's modem or does the Airport extreme replace that?  And then I think, if I am doing this, I should also look at Apple TV....What do I need and Why?  Then I look at the New Desk top coming out in the fall, and I think well, if I wait and get this, what does this component do for the system, and what becomes redundant? What does this awesome desktop do for my ability to sit and use a new macbook air when I travel  or sit on the couch in my PJs?
If there was a place that plainly stated "if you buy the new dektop you can configure a system including only these components and achieve <this result> and by adding <additional components> you will achieve this result.
I have been to the genius store a few times, but I come out of there more confused unless I have SPECIFIC questions or already know what to buy.
A "System Configuration App" would be a really great sales tool--Just saying.

I have no idea what "fully optimized" means.
No Apple device will let you watch broadcast TV. The Apple TV is a good option for watching streaming TV from iTunes, NetFlix and Hulu. If you want to watch from other sources, you may need to look at other devices.
Any Mac computer or iPad will allow you to surf the web.
    What business software?
Time Capsule is a good option for back ups.
    Update what across all devices?
For accessing documents from all devices, a service like Dropbox is your best bet.
I have no idea what "step as far away from an internet provider as possible" means. If you want Internet access, you need an Internet provider.
Lighting fast speed for what? Processor? The specs are listed for all devices in the Online Store. Internet? We're back to the service provider.
Technology changes. The only way to keep pace with it beyond a couple of years is to buy new stuff.
The bottom line is you need to look at the specs for devices availble and at your budget and decide what best meets your needs. If you are unable to do that on your own, there are lot of technology consultants out there who will, for a fee, look at your exact situation, make recommendations and even handle the purchase and set up. Perhaps that would be the best route for you.
    Best of luck.

  • How do I access iwork for ios docs stored in icloud on all ios devices

How do I access ios-iwork icloud docs on all my ios devices?
ios 7.1.2 on all ios devices. Have zero access to my icloud docs on mobile devices since ios 7.0.

Make sure you are signed in to iCloud using the same AppleID as used for the files.
Settings app > iCloud > Documents&Data. Make sure each of the iWorks apps is turned on.
Go to the settings for each app and make sure (Use iCloud)
For 2 or 3 above, if they are already on, turn them off and then back on.

  • I'm trying synchronize the use of iMessage across all of my devices.

I'm trying to syncronize the use of iMessage across all of my devices. I setup iMessage on two desktop computers and my iPhone using the same AppleID. When I try to use that AppleID on my iPad I'm told that "The user name or password for (AppleID) was incorrect. Try again." This is the same user name and password that I used on the other three devices and it worked fine. I need some help. Thank you.

I am using Quicken Essentials 1.7.4 on a [Mac Pro, 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon with 16 Gb of memory], running 10.7.5.  I am in the process of upgrading everything to work on Yosemite and Quicken seems to be the most difficult problem to overcome.
Thanks for your response and feedback.
I would recommend you continue with Quicken Essentials.  As noted by others, it performs well on Yosemite.
My personal experience is Quicken 2007 for Mac also on 10.7.5 (with many reports of it both updated and successfully running on Yosemite) and I personally would not touch Quicken Essentials with a 10 foot pole -- BUT, if it ain't broke for you, don't fix it!

  • HT201342 HOW DO I SYNK MY SENT EMAILS ACROSS ALL MY DEVICES

    HELLO.
    I'M NEW HERE.
I WOULD LIKE TO SYNK MY SENT EMAILS ACROSS ALL MY DEVICES.
I HAVE 4 DEVICES AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP TRACK OF WHICH DEVICE I USED TO RESPOND TO AN E-MAIL.
    PLEASE HELP.

Firstly please don't post in capitals: it comes over as shouting and IS CONSIDERED RUDE (see what I mean ).
iCloud handles its own email: it has no relationship whatever with any other email service. You can set other email services up separately in the Mail app and application on your devices and Macs, but you will only get the result you want if they are IMAP services (where, as with iCloud, the emails reside on the server and are read from there by the various devices). Many services are POP, where accessing an email results in its being downloaded to the device and usually removed from the server, and either way round sent emails remain only on the device which sent them.
If Rogers are providing you with a POP service you should ask whether they can provide an IMAP one. If not your only option would be to find another email service which can (or use iCloud).
You could, by the way, Bcc all sent messages to your iCloud address - they would of course turn up in the Inbox but they would be accessible on all devices.

  • If I have two factor authentication on my iPhone can someone read my iMessages on their iOS device?

If I have two factor authentication on my iPhone can someone read my iMessages on their iOS device?

As you probably know iOS devices can only be physically synced to one computer at a time. If you mean will iTunes Match keep all your "devices" up to date with all our music then, yes, that is what the service is designed to do.

  • How to sync ical with multiple apple devices and android?

Does anybody have use an android phone in addition to apple devices, and have you figured out how to sync ical with all? (I know there are other calendars that can be used by all, but it means a lot to my husband to stay with ical.)

I tried Yahoo in the past but had trouble with duplicate entries. However, this was a while ago before Yahoo updated their site and this was with syncing to a Windows computer with Outlook in addition to a Mac so my results might not be typical. Yahoo's worth a shot, but my experience with Yahoo is why I use Google Calendar.
Beyond that, I don't know of any other "free" services. There are many other hosted calendar sites that could work, but you'd pay something like $5-$20 per month, which is comparable to MobileMe.

how do i set up my iOS devices to see my mail folders from my Mac?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your mail folders are actually "on my Mac" then your iOS devices cannot be set up to see them. However, if your mail folders are within your email service account and your email service is an IMAP account, then the folders should sync between devices.
