  • How to sync ipod touch without computer

I am out of town, and i forgot to sync my ipod to download the new songs i had just added on to my itunes library. is there any possible way i could sync it, without using the computer that my ipod's itunes library is on?

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPod but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPod with it.

  • How to sync ipod touch to new computer itunes library after old itunes library computer crash without wiping out "library" on ipod touch

how to sync ipod touch to new computer itunes library after old itunes library lost in computer crash, without erasing ipod touch

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

  • How to sync iPod Touch on a different computer

My piece of junk PC got another virus last night and is currently disabled. (I am on husband's Mac right now). So I'm trying to access my podcasts & all that on my husband's computer. We have "authorized" his computer. He also set me up with my own User account (so our iTunes songs, shows and videos STAY separate).
But "sync iPod" is grayed out for me now.
When I try manually dragging last night's Podcasts to my iPod, nothing happens.
When I try and do a checkbox that says "Sync iPod" it threatens to "replace my podcasts" with what I've selected (which I am afraid might mean that if I download last night's Anderson Cooper podcast, it could wipe out the other podcasts that I've put on my iPod and would like to keep). I am not sure this would happen, but I sure don't feel like taking a chance.
So does anyone else know what to do when you try and use your iPod touch on a different computer?
    thanks

OK, thanks. I heard that someplace else, too. This PC torture has got to end.
Time to go find a MacBook that I can afford. Or even a desktop Mac for that matter, though I really did want it to be a laptop....
    (sigh)
    Thanks for your help!

  • How to sync ipod touch & iphone on same machine ?

Greetings to all from the Greekislands !
    I'm a new member here,Bought an ipod touch 2nd gen. last year,very happy with it.Just bought an iphone 3gs 32 gb.Even happier...Hands down...iphone rocks !
One question, my ipod touch is 16 gb,my iphone is 32 gb,I already have 20 + gb on iphone....How do i sync both from the same machine ?
    Any info much appreciated !

Each of the panes in iTunes allows you to sync only selected playlists, ringtones, podcasts, movies, photo albums, contact groups, applications, etc. iTunes will treat your iPhone and your iPod as completely separate and distinct devices and you can sync each as you like. The choices you make for your iPod can be the same or completely different from your iPhone choices.
I have over 5800 songs in my iTunes library, but only 1030 of them on my iPhone. I use several playlists and sync my music by choosing to sync selected play lists in the music tab.
Several playlists never change, these are my favorites. I have another playlist that I use to cycle songs on and off the phone. I add and delete songs from this playlist frequently.
If you haven't used playlists before, watch this video tutorial: http://www.apple.com/itunes/tutorials/#video-createplaylists
You can also elect to manually manage your music and videos on your iPhone. Select “Manually manage music and videos” in the iPhone's summary pane in iTunes to turn off automatic syncing in the Music and Video settings panes. See “Manually Managing Content” on page 73 of the manual: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
I personally think the playlist method is easier, but others prefer the manual method. I prefer not to use the check and uncheck procedure as unchecked songs are ignored by iTunes for most anything.

  • Syncing ipod touch unauthorized computer

My brother and his family do not have internet access.
I gave my nephews each an old first generation ipod touch.
I created itunes accounts for them and bought them applications.
They can go to cafes and buy themselves applications.
Now they want to put photos on their ipods from their iphoto library.
They can't do this because when they try to sync their ipod touch devices itunes wants to authorize the computer. They don't have internet access so they can't do this.
so they hit cancel, and the sync action stops.
Is there some work around for this so that they can get their photos onto their ipods?

Maybe they can email the photos to themselves.
Then they can touch the photos from their email file and press the "save image", it will then get saved to photos.
I hope that might work for them, it was a very nice gift!
