How to sync Outlook for Mac 2011 calender with iCal
I am currently running IOS 10.6.8.
I use Outlook for Mac 2011 and I have been having problems syncing my appointments with iCal.
I have outlook set up correctly in the preferences to sync all calendars but this does not appear to happen.
Here's some screen grabs of the settings I use. I do not use the online iCal calendar. My iphone is synced to outlook and the local ical calendar hosted on my laptop.
I can enter and receive/accept appointments using any of these three calendars and they all update and sync.
The calendar called "No category" is my outlook calendar.
If I enter any appointments they have to be entered on the calendar called "work" on my laptop and phone – otherwise outlook does not pick them up.
As demichae said in his post above "Outlook doesn't see the stuff in iCal" – at least the online iCal stuff.
It's not very straightforward.
Hope this helps.

OK, I think I figured it out, with Apple's iCloud instructions and a little help from campus tech support. This only applies to people using Outlook with Microsoft Exchange.
Enable iCloud on your computer (running Lion) and your iPhone. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html
Then go to your iPhone's Mail icon, click on Add Account > Microsoft Exchange and enter your login info.
Doing this transferred my work email and calendar to my phone wirelessly. -
How can I synchronize my Outlook for Mac 2011 contacts with iCloud?
Don't works synchronize my outlook for mac 2011 contacts with iCloud. Someone can help me please?
Outlook 2011 for Mac is not compatible with iCloud Contacts & Calendars because Microsoft do not support the industry standard CardDAV and CalDAV protocols that iCloud uses.

Unable to sync outlook for mac 2011
Hi All,
I have been unable to sync my outlook contacts and calender. iTunes wants to sync to the apple address book and ical. Is there any way to fix this problem? btw all programs and iphone and ipad have been updated to the latest versions.
Thanks,
MikeThis is a user to user help forum only. Apple does not provide direct support or answer any questions here. If you want Apple to weigh in on this, you need to call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
Is there an option available to sync contacts and calendar events with Outlook for the Mac under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes? If not, the option is not available which means this is not supported yet. Outlook for the Mac is a new product.
As already provided, the iPhone supports syncing contacts and calendar events with Entourage which is not direct with Entourage. The iPhone syncs direct with the Address Book and iCal which in turn is kept synced with the Entourage address book and calendar. Outlook for the Mac is just a name change and upgrade for Entourage on the Mac. Entourage includes a preference setting for sync services with Apple's Address Book and iCal, which must be enabled with Entourage. Outlook for the Mac likely includes the same thing.
Have you visited Microsoft's website for Outlook for the Mac? I'm sure they provide support there or someplace for Outlook for the Mac. -
How do i sync Outlook for Mac contacts with apples address book ???
How do I sync outlook for Mac 2011 contacts with Address book. I updated the itunes or apple updates and it erased my contacts from the address book. I did have is set up where the they automaticaly updated back and forth but now I can not find how to check this. Bottom line I want my contacts back to address book. ??????? anyone.
Outlook for Mac doesn't support contact (or calendar) syncing with iCloud because Microsoft chose not to include the CardDAV (and CalDAV) protocals that are required (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2648915). You'll have to use the OS X Address Book (Contacts) app to sync with iCloud.

How can i sync mac address book w/ outlook for mac 2011
Is it possible to have the address book in Outlook for Mac 2011 sync w/ the Mac address book? I cleaned up my contacts in the Mac address book expecting the changes to show up in my outlook address book. Made over 200 changes that did not show up on the Outlook address book. Seems like there should be a way to make this work. If I add contacts from within Outlook, I'd like them to show up on all my devices. MacBook Pro, iPhone, and iPad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this platform as I was a PC guy for the last 30 years.
I've got Outlook up and running just fine. Still have the problem with getting duplicate emails but I'm waiting on MS to get a fix for that in an update. Apparently that has been an ongoing issue. I've been in contact w/ a senior MS Outlook tech on that. I guess I'll just have to make sure that all contact adds/edits are done in Outlook. Then I can sync my phone or iPad and get the cloud to update the other Apple devices off that sync. Either that or figure out how to export from the Mac address book to the Outlook address book once in a while.

How to sync Address Book TO Outlook for Mac 2011
I am using the native Address Book from Mac OS 10.7.5 and need to keep using it because it syncs with my iPhone. However, I am using Outlook for Mac 2011 and want the contacts to synch from Mac Address Book to Outlook's contact list.
Synch services have been turned on in Outlook.
Originally, I was going to switch to Mac Mail but discovered that importing mail from Outlook is a headache (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=0&tstart=0). Outlook works well and has for years so rather than going through a bunch of manual drag and dropping of folders to make mbox files, or buying software to do it, I thought getting the contacts to synch would suffice since that's all that's really needed.
What I discovered is that Outlook will feed new contacts to Mac Address Book when they are generated in Outlook but the Mac Address Book does not feed new contacts to Outlook if they were generated in Address Book. Is this even possible? If so, how?
Thanks,
Karen
I read this previous thread but it talks about contact info going FROM Outlook to Address Book instead of the other way around: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=30&tstart=0I've got Outlook up and running just fine. How do i sync my iphone with outlook for mac 2011 calendar?
how do i sync my iphone with outlook for mac 2011 calendar?
Here are some instructions from Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2452489
Alternatively, depending on where the data in Outlook is coming from, you could set up your phone to sync to the same account that Outlook is syncing with. For example, my Outlook 2011 and my iPhone both sync to my work Exchange account, so I have that same calendar in both places. -
Know how to automatically sync iCloud notes on Outlook for Mac 2011?
Hi People,
I've decided to use Outlook for Mac 2011 instead of Apple Mail. Does anyone know how I can setup Outlook notes to sync automatically with my iCloud Notes?
Much appreciated
Kind regards
DougYou can't.
Outlook for Mac is not compatible with iCloud except for email. See Microsoft's statement here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2648915
Until Microsoft decides to start supporting the industry standard protocols iCloud uses, Outlook for Mac is useless. -
This is my first attempt at using this forum so please be patient with me. I am new to the apple world. Bought an Imac desktop computer back in October and installed Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 because I was used to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and outlook. Now I am being told that I should be using ical for my calendar so that I will be better able to move to icloud for use between my Imac, Ipad2, and Iphone.
The question is: how do I move my calendar which is in "Outlook for Mac 2011" into ical on my Mac? Do I have to remove the Outlook entries from the computer and reinstall them back to the same machine or can I somehow move calendar entries within the machine? I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.I also already deleted my phone number from iMessage on my MBP.

There is no way to use iCloud Dav services (contacts and calendars) in Outlook 2011 as Outlook does not support Dav services.
Use a client that supports Dav if you want to use iCloud. -

I have a similar problem.
Syncing my iPhone via USB cable and iTunes to Outlook 2011 syncs only my calender correctly to Outlook 2011. My iPhone contacts sync wit Apple's contacts, where I don't want them.
Have you been able to find the solution to your problem?

How to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011 (ical)
Hey All
Problem:
Want to view my family share calendar in outlook for mac 2011.
Want to have them sync on the fly (push)
Currently running 2 exchange mailboxes which have their own mailboxes and calendars which you can toggle between.
For the PC this is a relatively straight forward task.. You can add an additional calendar to outlook and you are away. Wife's PC can view her own personal exchange calendar and on a separate tab she can view, edit, print etc the family share calendar.
For outlook for Mac, I've tried a few work arounds and none of them actually work, all the Apple documentation available doesn't really cover this.
Any help would be much appreciated
CheersHi,
According to your description, I notice that Outlook for Mac for Office 365 cannot open shared calendar.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Which account are you used, Exchange account or Microsoft account?
Would you please login OWA and test to open this shared calendar?
Outlook for Mac cannot open the shared calendar which is a sub-calendar, you have to ask calendar owner share all calendars under the default "Calendar" folder.
More details about it, for your reference:

Dear Sirs,
I had just upgraded my OS to the OS X Mavericks. After doing so, I noticed the following changes:
1) My MS Outlook for Mac 2011 does not sync with my Mac book's calendar/contacts/notes.
2) My iPhone4s does not sync with my Mac book's calendar/contacts/notes anymore.
Please help, thank you.
aawwiiCorrect, USB local sync was taken away from iphones and ipads with 10.9.1 and 2. We are not allowed to speculate on rumours it might come back in 10.9.3 plus new iTunes. Either wait and see or explore Syncmate 5 beta free trial.
icloud still works.
Cant help with the Outlook problem.
