How to sync pdf in ibooks

Hello,
This should be simple, but somehow it doesnt work for me: When copying pdf in ibooks, and organising them into collections, the pdfs are not synced between my different apple devices. The collections are synced, but only the titles, without the pdfs in it!
What am I doing wrong or is there a way to enable pdf syncing in ibooks between different devices?
Thanks a lot
Christian

PDF's won't sync, only purchases from the store will do that.

I have uploaded PDFs to iBooks but they aren't syncing between devices.

The best way I found to sync PDFs in iBooks between all your IOS Devices and a Mac is to TICK the "Sync with this (Your iDevice) over Wi-Fi" setting which is found in the "Summery" when you open iTunes on your Mac and select your iDevice from the top let corner of your iTunes window or from the left side column in the Playlist amd Apply.

  • How to Sync PDFs on iBooks over to MBP?

I think it was last year I was able to do this but right now I can't. My PDFs on iBooks never go to my Mac anymore. iBooks sync is selected under iPhone sync preferences.

Delete please. Everything was synced on the third attempt.

How to import PDFs to iBooks on OS X Mavericks?
-I have 1,000+ PDFs that I used to have on iTunes before the OS X Mavericks update, but now with the update and the separate iBooks app, none of them transferred over to the iBooks app.

    Using iCloud?
Found this in the iBooks Help Center ...
    About using iBooks with iCloud
Your books, collections, highlights, notes, and bookmarks are available automatically on your computers and iOS devices—just use the same Apple ID to sign in to the iBooks Store.
If you buy a book on your Mac, it’s automatically available on all of your iOS devices with iOS 6 or later and with Show All Purchases turned on in iBooks settings. (Books made with iBooks Author aren’t available on iPhone or iPod touch.) To see all your purchased books on your Mac, choose View > Show Purchases in iCloud.
If you start reading a book on one device, you can pick up right where you left off on another device. Collections, highlights, notes, and bookmarks are also available on other devices when “Sync bookmarks, highlights, and collections across devices” is selected on your Mac in the General pane of iBooks preferences. On your iOS devices, turn on Sync Bookmarks and Sync Collections in iBooks settings.
If you’re not seeing your info on all of your devices, make sure you’re using the same Apple ID in the iBooks Store on your Mac and on each iOS device. Also, make sure syncing is turned on in the General pane of iBooks preferences on your Mac and in iBooks settings on your iOS devices.

  • Problem sync pdf to iBook

    HI all,
I used to convert my pdf to epub and sync all my book to iBook without problem.
But I guess everyone knwos that some of the book is not readable after the convertion.
So I heard that the latest iTunes supports sync-ing PDF directly to iBook. I can successfully add my PDF file to iTunes, but after several sync, I still cannot see my PDF file on my iPad...
    Any advice?

Urh, you could sync your PDF files on you ibook soon. For some PDF files couldnot be read on your portable device after conversion to epub. You can check out this article How to Convert PDF to EPUB on Mac

  • ITunes 10 - No longer sync PDFs to iBooks on iPad

Immediately following the upgrade to iTunes 10, I can no longer sync PDF's to my iPad (v3.2.2) for use with iBooks. Is anyone else having the same issue and even more importantly, has anyone resolved this?

Appears that in order to fix this you must delete all of your PDF documents out of iTunes and re-add them to your library.
I attempted rolling back to iTunes v9.2.1 to resolve this and the issue carried on to that version so I'm not sure what the true cause would be. Especially given that the iTunes 10 and iTunes 9 libraries were completely separate (utilized a backup copy of the v9 library for the v9 installation).
Hopefully an official "fix" for this will come out in future versions.

  • HT5826 how to sync pdf file between iOS and mac

I tried to sync pdf files stored in iBook on my iPad with the iBook on my iMac, but not all the docuemnts are viewable in iBook on iMac and viceversa.
    Which is the reason?
    Please let me know
    Thanks

I suspect that you haven't synced your iPad with your Mac. iBooks does not "push" new additions to its library automatically, like iCloud does; you must sync your iPad, either with a USB cable, or over WiFi, to have the PDFs sync. Make sure the PDFs are selected in iTunes too.

  • Syncing PDFs between iBooks and iOS devices

    Hello everyone,
I just ordered an iPad Air. I wanted one for a long time, and one of the things that I am most after is the ability to read PDF documents anywhere I want. I have been organizing my eBooks and PDFs in iBooks, and I was under the impression that this meant I would be able to see the collection on my iOS devices and download them to those devices when I needed them. But I guess it's not that simple, is it?
As I don't yet have the iPad with me, I have been trying to sync what I see in iBooks to my iPhone 4S, but I only see one mqtching book on both the Mac and the iPhone, and that's one book purchased from iBooks itself. Then there's one free ebook that was also downloaded inside iBooks, from the computer, but does not show in the iPhone. Adding to this, none of the PDFs I have organized inside iBooks will show up on the iPhone.
Am I doing something wrong? Any of you successfuly organizing ebooks and PDFs in iBooks and seeing them on your iOS devices? What should I try?
I'm on the latest Mavericks update and all the mentioned apps are updated. Also, the iPhone is running the latest update of iOS7.
    Thank you so much.

Well, nevermind. It suddenly decided to start syncing, somehow! Not sure what I did to make it work though.
Anyway, this is still not what I was expecting. The only way to synchronize what I have in iBooks with the iOS devices, is through iTunes, and I need to be in the same network, right?
I thought this would be something more like iTunes Match, where I could have all my ebooks and PDFs up in the Cloud and download them to my devices whenever I needed them.
Do you know if there's any app providing this type of system?
    Thanks a lot.

  • How to sync pdf files in iBook on Mac to iBook on iPad/phone?

I used to easily move pdf files I created on my Mac to my iPad by using iTunes to sync them as books.  But now books are separate from iTunes (as they
should be), and iBooks doesn't sync my pdfs to my iPad.  I've done it using Dropbox as an intermediary,  but this involves lots more steps...  Am I missing
something? (Yes, I seem to have the sync content options enabled both on the Mac and the iOS device.)

From iTunes Help Menu this worked for me
Add iBooks and audiobooks to iPod, iPhone, or iPad
You can download iBooks to your computer and use iTunes to sync them to your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad. You can also use iTunes to sync audiobooks to your iPod or iOS device.
    Hide
Sync iBooks or audiobooks to your device
Connect your device to your computer and select your device in iTunes.
    Click the Books button.
Do either or both of the following:
Sync iBooks: Select Sync Books, then click “All books,” or click “Selected books” and select the iBooks you want to add.
Sync audiobooks: Select Sync Audiobooks, then click “All audiobooks,” or click “Selected audiobooks” and select the audiobooks you want to add.
    Click Apply.

  • How to sync PDF files in iBooks?

When I synced only photos, all of the PDF files I had saved in iBooks disappeared.  I had chased to only sync photos, because I am not yet comfortable and confident with the sync process, and I did not want to risk losing anything else.

When I don't have my computer available, I do this by emailing the PDF to myself then open it from whichever device I need (open in iBooks)

  • How to transfer pdfs in ibook to computer

hello, how do i transfer pdfs i have in my ibook app onto my computer? when i plug the iPad in and open iTunes, ibooks isn't showing to sync, i don't want to lose the pdfs, so i haven't synced yet. thanks, tony.

If you connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes then you should be able to copy them over to the Books part of your iTunes library via the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option - that should copy PDFs and/or epubs that are in the iBooks app, not just ibooks purchased from iTunes.

  • How to sync pdf  files without deleting existing ones

    Hello Everyone,
I am new to the apple world and i recently bought an iphone 5 and an ipad mini. i am loving using them but i am facing a problem everytime i try to sync media. whenever i upload new stuff its automatically deleting the existing stuff. how do i upload new stuff ( media and pdf's) without deleting the existing ones ??
    NEED HELP ASAP !!!
    Thank you.

"Upload"? What does that mean to you? Syncing form iTunes? Is that what you mean? If it is what you mean, you need to select all of the content that you want to sync by setting sync preferences and once you do that, your media should not be deleted every time that you sync.
However if you are referring to Photos as media, Yoy can only sync one folder of photos from your computer at a time. Of you switch to another photos folder, the existing photos on the iPad will be erased.
So if you would explain exactly what you mean and what you are doing, it will be easier to offer a solution.

  • How to sync pdf files on ipad wirelessly to iphone? [iOS]

I get everyday 10-15 new .pdf files, i open them, edit and save with a new name on my ipad (adobe app)
How do i sync those files wireless on my iphone?

    Hi,
You can either use (a) Adobe Document Cloud or (b) AirDrop.
    (a) Adobe Document Cloud (the cloud storage formerly known as Acrobat.com)
Acrobat DC for iOS provides the integrated support for Document Cloud.  (That's what "DC" stands for.)
You can sign in with your Adobe ID, open documents from Document Cloud, and save or upload documents to Document Cloud in the Acrobat DC app (desktop or mobile).
    (b) AirDrop
Share content with AirDrop from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you would like to use AirDrop on your desktop/notebook computer, you need a Mac running Yosemite.
Mac Basics: AirDrop lets you send files from your Mac to nearby Macs and iOS devices - Apple Support
    Hope this information helps.
