I have an iPhone 4 and previously I would sync my phone to my MacBook, but my husband bought me a PC. So now instead of figuring out how to sync to my PC I would really just like to sync to his Macbook Pro, as I am using that more due to a new job. Thanks so very much!!!The easiest least complicated way to keep your info and her info seperate and not worry about things is to take advantage of user profiles on your computer (in XP)...so each of you log into XP with your own accounts, thus iTunes (and any other software like mail, etc) all have your own settings.
Otherwise, you will have to watch which account is logged into iTunes Store (click store and see what name is up top right in case you both have different accounts)...and make sure you are logged in with the right account before syncing. iTunes does know the difference between your phones so each can setup different settings of what to sync to, but your library on your computer will be mixed unless you do what I said first, use different profiles (user logins) for XP. -
Computer died..how to sync/backup iPhone 4 to another computer
my computer that i had first synced my iPhone to has died. I need to sync and backup my phone because I actually need to go to Apple since my wake/sleep button has stopped responding. It is still under warranty so I'm guessing I'll either get it fixed or get a replacement. However, I do not want to go in there without having everything backed up. How do I sync/back up my phone to a new computer without it erasing anything?
You don't. Iphone will sync itunes content and pics to one computer. When you sync to another, it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
You need to move everything from your backup copy of your old computer to the new one. Then you can sync the iphone without losing anything, as all of the info will be transferred to the new computer. -

I can't transfer from my calender in my Iphone to my Outlook Calender in my computer.

How do you sync an iPhone with a new computer?
I know this question has been posted on this forum countless times, but none of the responses seemed to help me. I need a simple and clear answer on how to sync my iPhone to a new computer. I used to sync my iPhone with a Mac, but I got a new laptop running Windows 8 and I want to sync my iPhone with this new laptop. All the responses on this site tell me to download some sort of software to extract the data from my iPhone, but none of them seem to be free. My old Mac is still intact, so I can still use it if I need to. All of this is really confusing. Sorry if I'm being really ignorant about all of this, I just really need some help.

a manual backup should help to transfer your data and apps.
Disable autosync in itunes, connect your phone, right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing and save data, pictures taken with the phone and settings to the new itunes library.

After that, transfer your purchases the same way by choosing "transfer purchases", to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your phone got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored again from the manual backup you made before.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.

Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

I can not sync my iPhone after restoring it - my computer only gives me the restore (again and again and again) option. I have no music and only a few aps now on my iPhone. Any tips before I go to the genius bar?
If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock). Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

Be careful, when you connect the iPhone to your mac, unless you have saved the photos. Synced photos may easily be accidentally deleted by syncing again. And do not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta), that will erase synced photos as well. Synced Photos are not included in the device backups.
Set your iTunes Preferences to "Devices > Prevent iPos, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically". Otherwise iTunes may launch and sync your iPhone with an empty iPhoto library the moment you connect it.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to sync the synced photos back. Apple recommends to mail them back, but that would be a lot of clicking (iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support). You could also share them to a Shared Album, but a third party app like TD recommended, will be better. -
