How to Sync without confirming?

I recently upgraded my desktop software to ver 4.3.0.17.  Unlike the previous version, it is now asking me to confirm every step of the sync.  For example, it will ask me to confirm the sync-ing of Contacts, then Calendar, then Tasks, etc.
I sync my Blackberry by overwriting it all the time with data from my Outlook - In the previous version, no further confirmation was required.
Does anyone have any ideas?  Or should I upgrade to 4.6?
FYI - I am using the Blackberry Curve 8310

Hi Globalpeter,
I'm glad to tell you that Firefox Sync doesn't over-write your bookmarks. Instead, it merges all the information you already have in your different computers and mobile devices to ensure a consistent experience.
Let me know if you need extra information in order to set up your account.

If you Restore using last computer you synced to the password will be removed and you can restore the last backup on your computer, which includes your camera roll.
If you enabled Photo Stream in iCloud your photos are in Photo Stream.
If you had installed one of the many apps that can upload photos to a photo sharing site and had used it you will have your photos.
If you have done none of these things you are out of luck. The phone comes with many tools to preserve content, but you have to use them.

  • Maverick won't permit syncing Address Book or Calendar by USB to iPhone or iPad and permits only syncing by iCloud, which I don't want to use.  Any ideas on how to sync without using iCloud?

Maverick won't permit syncing Address Book or Calendar by USB cable from my MacBook Air to my iPhone and iPad and permits  syncing only by iCloud.  Mountain Lion permitted this via the Info tab on iTunes.  I don't want to use iCloud.  Any ideas with Maverick on how to sync Address Book and Calendar from computer to iPhone and iPad without using iCloud?

ymcneil - thanks for the work around. But isn't it amazing Apple forces us to do this to maintain our privacy.
I live in Australia where there are good privacy laws protecting  citizens. I do not want to be forced to use iCloud when the data sits in  the USA with weaker privacy laws and also able to be seen by the US  Government under the Patriot Act. Further I suspect Apple will  interrogate my contacts and calendar for commercial purposes and I do  not want that either.
I  chose to synch my calendar and contacts with my iphone and ipad. I have  relied for years on carrying around my phone with my diary on it. I can  no longer do that.
Whoever  made this decision at Apple has to be someone who knows little about  the world. I can actually see EU regulators getting very annoyed by  this.
I too woud like the itunes mac to iphone/ipad local backup given back.
In the meantime - thanks for the work around

  • How To Sync WITHOUT Changing App Pages On Device

*Help please. I can connect and sync my iPod Touch without probs. I want to sync apps WITHOUT changing the pages, or location of icons on each page, as they appear on my device. How may I do this?? There are options to "sync by" size, date, etc, etc. None of those appear to allow me to keep the apps arranged as I have them when I launch iTunes. There must be a way! Thanks!!*

*Not sure what you mean. I do not have my apps organized by folders. I do have my apps organized by my usage (most used on page 1, etc). I sync MANUALLY. Therefore, when I go to app tab for syncing, the apps are shown as they appear on my device, but are grayed-out. When I check the "sync apps" box (upper left) the apps rearrange themselves into a random order; change pages, etc. I immediately uncheck the box and do not sync. If I do sync the apps, the sync process rearranges the apps into the random order shown when I check the box. All I want to do is sync my apps WITHOUT messing with the order in which I have arranged them on my device. HELP!*

  • My computer died, how to sync without....

Hello all. Well my dilemma is that my dell laptop has died. This was the computer I used to sync my iPhone. Now it has been several weeks since I have synced my iPhone so I am needing to so I will not loose any information in case my iPhone crashed. In the past several weeks I have purchased several apps and do not want to loose them in the sync process. When I go to sync my iPhone to my daughters computer (there is not any iPhone's synced to this computer), it states that all existing apps on my iPhone will be replaced from the iTunes library (iTunes Library is empty). I take it as the apps on my iPhone will be deleted. I only have around $40 worth of apps so far but still I do not want to loose them. Syncing to my daughters computer is only temporary until I get me a new laptop. Then I will sync only to the new computer. Which will not be for a couple months though. Is it possible to sync to my daughters computer without loosing my apps, also my music, contacts, etc. Thanks for your help.
    little more info.
    My iPhone is 16g 3Gs software v. 3.1.2
My dead dell computer was running windows xp
My daughters computer is a Toshiba Satelitte running windows Vista. and no other iPhone was ever synced to her computer.
    Again thanks alot

    Welcome to the discussions,
Transfer your purchases and back up manually and keep on syncing on this computer. Here's how to:
Authorize the new computer in the Store menu. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your phone, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures taken with the phone and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer. Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your phone got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored again from the manual backup you made.
Repeat this process when you'll switch to your new computer.

  • How to Sync without deleting camera photos?

So my wife and I both have iPhone 3G's and one computer using iTunes. She has taken photos with her camera phone and they are kept under the camera roll folder. How can she upload additional photos from the desktop computer onto her iPhone without overwritting her pictures on her phone?

The camera roll is separate. If you select a folder of photos on your computer to sync (in the Photos tab in iTunes), those pics will be transferred to the iPhone, and the pics in the Camera Roll will be left alone.

  • How to sync without losing Everything?!?

Got two Ipods here, for some reason my ipod will not sync with its mother computer, used to, won't now. I do not wish to lose all my music, oh and my Itunes library got wiped out too. So how do i sync an Ipods music that is ONLY on the Ipod, to a computer without losing everything? Does that make sense? Please help me!!

*So how do i sync an Ipods music that is ONLY on the Ipod, to a computer without losing everything?*
If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    Floola Mac & Windows
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible - Windows version only)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • How to sync without killing my iphone

    Hey yall,
i installed itunes 11.0.2.26, after i had formated c: my pc.
    1. now i want to copy a song from itunes to my iphone, if i go in itunes -> myiphone -> music -> sync music, i have to "delete and sync" with new itunes library, that means that music etc. from other itunes librabraries sent to myiphone get deleted --> that means all data on my iphone gets deleted?
    2. if i go in itunes -> myiphone -> overview -> options and want to mark "music and vids handle manually" -> agree. Now itunes ask me "my iphone is with an other itunes library logical connected. You want to delete this iphone and sync it with this library? A Iphone can only connected with one itunes library, if you delete and sync your iphone, the content of your iphone will replace with the content of this library."
This Library is totally empty, i only got the 1 song in it.
So..... after 2 hours trying to get the song on my iphone i dont know what to do..... is this itunes just such a complicated program???

I have the same problem, and would love to see the answer.  Indeed, I have three computers - two of which have Itunes Match turned on.  I have two Iphones.  The Iphone with Itunes match turned on has most, but not all of the artwork.  On the Iphone which I have not turned Itunes Match "on," all artwork is now missing.  There are a lot of bugs in the Itunes Match.  While there is much good, this application has a long way to go.

  • Sync without album artwork

There is not enough space to sync my Ipod.  I had downloaded the album artwork and I believe that is what is taking up the space.  Can't figure out how to sync without the artwork or how to remove the artwork so my music will sync.  Any suggestions?

    Hello bkmonkey1012,
The option to allow or disable the syncing artwork to your iPod was removed as of iTunes 9.  So now there is now way to not sync the artwork with your content unless you remove it from the content in iTunes.

  • I synced my new iPad with my new macbook and when I tried to then sync my iPhone as well it says that all apps will be replaced with apps in my library. How do I sync without losing all of my existing iPhone apps?

I synced my new iPad with my new macbook and when I tried to then sync my iPhone as well it says that all apps will be replaced with apps in my library. How do I sync without losing all of my existing iPhone apps?

My guess is that you previously synced the iPhone with a different computer in the past. You will probably want to set up Home Sharing.

  • How to sync Outlook 2010 calendar (on my local windows 7 computer) with my iPhone 5c without  iCloud?

How to sync Outlook 2010 calendar (on my local windows 7 64 bit computer) with my iPhone 5c without  iCloud?

You would sync Outlook via iTunes on the computer. Connect the iPhone to the computer, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes running, select the iPhone in iTunes and it will display the Summary page. Select the Info tab, and there you would select what you want to sync calendar and contacts to. Make sure since this is the first time you have done a sync that whichever of the devices is new to the sync process has at least one unique contact/calendar event to get iTunes to prompt you for a merge or replacement. You can see this support document for help in setting up initial syncing. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
