How to sync your mouse and key board to the desk top when both indicator lights are blinking? I changed the batteries and I dont know how to sync them when they both wont work to follow the step to sync them up...help!

Have you turned the computer off and then back on (force quit if necessary by holding the power button)?
Try resetting the SMC:
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

The mac boots fine, I can see desk top, etc. The key board and mouse are connected but do not appear to work. This has just happened.

You could take it to a service center but: 1) It would probably cost more than the computer is worth. 2) You'd be lucky to find somebody who knows what a G4 is (maybe I exaggerate but really, they would laiugh at anything that "old"). 3) I don't think we're done here.
Do you still have the original discs. One of them has a hardware test that you can run. You could also see
if it boots to the original disc and if things still won't work. You could even try OS9.
Also look into CUDA reset and NVRAM reset. I think they are both references in the link I provided earlier.

If it really turns out to be the USB hardware that's bad you could probably find a third party USB card you could slip in there for next to nothing and would also give you USB2 speeds. There's minor disadvantages.
Oh, did we determine if it really isn't working at any stage? What about if you hold down the mouse key while booting the computer? That should open the optical drive door if it is being sensed.

Firefox will work with any mouse and keyboard that your computer supports. However, if your computer will not support the mouse or keyboard. Let's say it's a Windows 7 Computer and the mouse was only tested up to Windows XP and is a USB mouse then there may be a case where your mouse will not work. Firefox will never not work with a mouse and keyboard. Remember thoe, if it's a USB Mouse and Keyboard and it says that it's compatible up to Windows XP it will not work on Windows 7 or if it does work it may not work well.

Rubbish wireless mouse and key board!

Can anyone help me by telling me why my wireless keyboard and mighty mouse keep disconnecting from the laptop?
the keyboard has got to the point where it just goes off and doesnt reconnect! and the mouse is slow and jittery making it hard to control. I really love the idea of using the apple products because they need no additional dongles or adapters but if this carries on then im gonna have no choice but to swap it for a more usable microsoft variation!

On the Apple store it is called a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth adapter.

Unfortunately Apple’s Bluetooth works in about a 3 foot range – if you are lucky! I bought the USB bluetooth adapter and the keyboard and mighty mouse both work amazingly well now, even from across the room.
I’m very disappointed that I had to fork out another £35.00 to get it to work, especially as I waited for the BT to become available in my build to order, but it works. I’m sure Apple will sort it eventually (?)

After waking up from Hibernation: Wireless mouse and k'board dont work!!

My second issue with my iMac, otherwise been a good experience. This is the annoying one. Sometime, or i should say most of the time, when the iMac wakes up from Windows XP hibernation, the mouse and the k'board (both bluetooth wireless) decide not wake up!! sometimes they do (and i suspect it is the time i quickly double click the left button on the mouse before the windows screen comes up) and sometimes they wake up after 5 minutes!! most of the time i dont have the patience and I just reboot which is very annoying! anoyone knows why?
I saw a set up in the bluetooth devices where I can tick/untick a selection asking me if i want to to turn off the blutooth to save power (this is under control panel/system/hardware/bluetooth/properties) do i need to untic this?

Seems like im truly the only one with the problem but i did find a workaround. When coming out of hibernation/standby (ie after u press the power button) u start double clicking the left mouse button like a possesed man!! just keep double clicking till you hear the (ding ding, ding ding), click a couple more times and that should wake up the mouse and k'board.
If u notice, when windows starts (from normal start up), mouse doesnt wake up till u double click the left button. Same issue here, seems blue tooth has a short window when coming out of hib/s.by and if u miss it then all freezes.
Well hope this helps some other people who got this issue.

You are referring to a feature called Clamshell Mode, please read Clamshell Mode setup for instructions.
BTW when posting when you use generalities such as "have tried everything" this tells us nothing. When posting please be specific and try to paint a complete picture. It just makes things easier for those trying to help you.

Even though it is geared towards applications purchased from the App Store and you're experiencing the issue with all apps, most of the steps would still be applicable to your situation. I would also take a look at the troubleshooting assistant to see if that helps:

How do I merge external drive images to desk top drive within the same master catalog?

I have about 900 raw files on an external drive. I edited those files using my master catalog using a laptop while still travelling. When I got home, I copied the master catalog from the external drive to the desk top, then opened the master catalog on my desktop. I can see the edited images on the external drive. So far so good.
I want to copy (add) the edited images to my desk top. I tried to export the images as a new catalog and then import it into the desire location on my desktop drive. However, LR5 does not allow that. I get this message: "There is nothing new in the catalog you have selected. All of the catalog's photos are up to date in this catalog." Yes, but the edited images are not on my desktop.....
I also tried to Import from the external drive and then Copy the files to the desktop, but then I lose all of the work done in the develop module and the keywords.
I watched Kost's LR 3 video on merging catalogs, but she dodges the question of how to deal with this issue since the "merge" is within the same catalog.
I'm using LR5 with Windows 7.
Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated as I've spent hours trying to resolve this problem.

Okay, so I would copy (not move) the folders/photos to the internal HD, keeping them in the same folder hierarchy as they are in now on the external HD. Yes, of course the drive name will be different, but other than that the folder path and file name should be the same.
Then, open the LR catalog that indexes the files and Update Folder Location (details are here: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm, scroll down to the "Update Folder Location" section)
Then, once that is complete and everything is working in your LR catalog, with no question marks on the photos or folders, optionally delete the photos on the external HD.

Here's how to sync your Notes between iPad and Mac

This is not immediately obvious and took me several conversations with various AppleCare techs before I finally got the solution as to why my notes on my iPad where not syncing to my Mac Pro. The problem seems to be that you can't sync if you only have Notes on your iPad. You must have notes on your Mac to which unlike Calendar and Contacts don't have corresponding standalone applications, iCal and Addressbook, respectively. Notes exist within Mac Mail. I only had Notes on my iPad and none on my Mac Pro. In this event here's what to do to get setup and syncing:
SETUP:
1. Go to System Preferences on your Mac > MobileMe > Sync > and make sure Notes is checked although, syncing via the cloud apparently won't happen until iOS 4.2.
2. With Mac Mail launched, if you've never created a note in Mac Mail, in the left column you should see:

ON MY MAC
RSS
or if you've created some notes on your Mac Mail, you'll see:
MAILBOXES
REMINDER
- Notes
ON MY MAC
RSS
The key is you have to have REMINDERS created. So if you don't have it created, when you sync your iPad and Mac, the iPad doesn't know what to do as there's no "receptacle" for it's notes on your Mac.
So in Mail, in the top of the window create a new Note, click the notepad icon to the right of the New Message.
Now REMINDERS will be created in Mail's left column with this new note. You can simply put "Test" or whatever and click "Done" in the upper left of the Note's window.
3. Plug your iPad into your Mac, in iTunes, in the left column click your iPad under DEVICES the Info tab in the top. At the bottom of the page is "Other" > click: Sync notes. Do NOT click the checkbox "Notes" in the next section under "Advanced"
4. Click "Apply" at the bottom of the page and your iPad and Mac will begin to sync. It may take awhile as I believe it is doing both a sync and backup.
Once this process is done, you'll see your notes fully sync'd on your iPad and Mac. Yea! but there's more...
5. Notes created in Mac Mail show up in 2 places: your MAILBOXES > Inbox and under REMINDERS > Notes, and if you delete the Mac Mail note in your inbox, it deletes the note in your REMINDERS.
This is unfortunate and not great interface design IMHO and should be remedied.
Luckily the last Tier 2 AppleCare tech I just spoke with had a workaround for this, which is:
6. Create a new mailbox inside Notes under REMINDERS. Click Notes, then go to Mailbox > New Mailbox... in the top of your monitor screen.
Under the location pulldown it should show a notepad icon and On My Mac.
For the Name, I called my new mailbox "iPad Notes" Then click OK.
Then a triangle appears next to Notes mailbox to access this new subfolder (iPad Notes) and you then drag your now sync'd notes from Notes under REMINDERS to your "iPad Notes" subfolder under Notes. Now your left column will look like:
MAILBOXES
REMINDERS
-Notes
--iPad Notes
ON MY MAC
RSS
Doing this drag to "iPad Notes" will remove the note(s) from your inbox, but keep it in your REMINDERS and thus be available for Syncing, which currently can only be done with your iPad when plugged in via USB to your Mac.
Apparently, in iOS 4.2, you'll be able to use MobileMe to sync Notes just like Calendar and Contacts. We'll see.
I hope this is helpful. It took me awhile to get all this set up, and being that I am not an AppleCare tech, if you have questions instead of asking me, I recommend you call AppleCare and review with them. Let them know I got the above info from Tier 2 support.
Once iOS 4.2 and Lion come out, all this may, hopefully be a simpler process, but as of this writing, pre 4.2 and Lion, this is now working on my iPad and Mac Pro.

~ means your Home directory. Using the command above takes you to the Home directory on the boot drive. Your backup files are now on another drive in a directory that used to be your Home but is now a subfolder of Users so you have to specify that drive after the /Volumes, then the user name, then the rest to go there
I use OSX 10.4.11 and on it the libraries are still visible. There's two at least. One general one at the top level of the boot drive and another for each user (the one with the ~). I think they made at least one of them invisible with newer OS versions.

To prevent a worst case scenario: How to display your email and a message to finder on the lock screen of an iPhone? (6 plus, current iOS)
That is, I assume most people finding an iPhone would want to try to contact me to give it back to me, if they know how: how can leave my contact information in the phone? This needs to be on the lock screen, naturally, as this is the only view the finder can see. It would be useful to be able to add a message of sorts a la "if found please call my wife ### or email me ###".
How can this be done other than editing the JPG of the wallpaper, or sticking a business card to the back of the phone (these are the only solutions I came up with, there must be something better).

Very true ! My main point was to show how easy it was to sync. I still think apple has a way to go to make this a great tool. It was fast to edit but when I want to send somthing to AE 5.5 it was a nightmare. I do I love how it organizes keywords and the color correction tools are good if you want to do it your self (check out this site http://www.colorgradingcentral.com/final-cut-pro-x-color-grading-table-of-conten ts ) it will be a great program if apple listens to all the comments but does not make it too complicated the you cant create quickly.
