I am needing to export my work outlook 2010 contacts & import them into "contacts" on my iMac but I cannot do this. Does anyone know how to do this, or if its possible? I have tried exporting as a CSV (DOS & Windows) file from Outlook 2010 with no luck.

Never mind Migration Assistant, re-read my post I edited it after I thought about your question. I'm getting you are new to OS X, if you only want to migrate your contacts use the suggestion noted above. However if you want to migrate more (music, data files, etc) to your iMac then use Migration Assistant. Pondini has created an excellent guide on how to use Migration Assistant. You can find it at:

Synching Contacts from Outlook (2003) to Iphone and vice versa

Can anyone tell me how I can have edited contacts update same contact on the Ipohne and how can I get edits or new contacts I enter on my Iphone to add or change on my Outlook. Other smartphones I had were able to perform this function. Help anyone?

Yes, Outlook is normally where the iPhone gets its contacts when using Windows. If the contacts are on an Exchange server and you set up mail, contacts and calendar (in Settings) on the phone to point to the server it will happen automagically.
If the contacts are only on Outlook and you do not sync to an Exchange server they contacts will sync when you sync the phone to iTunes by cable. There is a one-time setup step; tap on the Info tab in iTunes when the phone is connected and check the box to sync Contacts.
BTW, this is not a copy. It is a sync. Changes made on either side are copied to the other on the next sync or via push if through Exchange.

I saved the contacts in a CSV file and when I imported them into Contact in my MacAir, they went into the Contact Book but when I go to send an email, they are not selectable - they are there but greyed out where you cannot select them to send an email. They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

Did you select them to sync in the sync preferences of iTunes?
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Info Tab on the right.
Scroll down to Sync Contacts
Select the contacts from Outlook
Click on the Sync Contacts heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

In Outlook export the contacts as vCard files and then it just a matter of opening Address book and either importing them or you can drag them into the app.
It's a pretty simple process.
