How to synchronize my mididevice with java

Hi guys,
I´ve implemented a metronome. Presently it only uses the synthesizer, but I want it to synchronize my external mididevices, such as synthesizer and guitarsoundmodul. The metronome has to tell the present bmp to the devices. That´s it. But I don´t know how to make it.
At first I need to select the appropriate mididevice, the midiinterface. But how can I find te correct device on other computers? So I made a comboBox with all devices inside. Then I need to select the midi channel. Therefore must be a synthesizer first, but I don´t want to use the java synthesizer. Java should only send the bpm and maybe the mtc; but I don´t know if it is neccessary.
Is there an idea? I´ve googled hours and hours and found nothing.
If there is no code, a logical explaination would be fine as well.

What that code should be able to do is play a single note on an attached MIDI device / synthesizer, whatever. Why is that useful for you? Because one, you could use it to make your MIDI device play your metronome...
But more importantly, it's a way to send MIDI messages to your device, and I'm pretty sure that setting the BPM is just a special MIDI message you can send.

You can create a messenger-style application using JavaTV fairly easily. JavaTV supports standard java.net, and so any IP-based connection is pretty easy to do. The hard part of the application will be text input, but people have been using cellphone keypads to send SMS messages for long enough that they're familiar with doing this. This doesn't work well for long messages, where you really need a decent keyboard, but for short SMS-type messages it's acceptable.
The biggest problem that you need to work around is the return channel. Many receivers only have a dial-up connection, ties up the phone line and potentially costs people money if they don't get free local calls. Always-on return channels (e.g. ADSL or cable modem) are still pretty uncommon, so it's something that you nee to think about. Of course, if you do have an always-on connection then this problem just goes away.
This is really one of those cases that's technically do-able, but the infrastructure may not be there to give users a good experience.

How to Synchronize an association with Database Changes

I was wondering if someone has any ideas about how to manage FK changes with the BC associations. In general my questions center around tooling support for re-factoring associations and syncing them with db changes. I have read the following but all these discuss entity attribute related changes which are simple to manage.

I have 4 use cases.
Case 1: When an association is added to the db, how does one bring it to the BC layer.
Case 2: Deletion of an association from db is easy to manage because once it exists in bc layer, it can be treated as a valid one at the model later regardless of its existence on the db.
Case 3: When an association is modeled in BC layer and a corresponding FK does not exist in DB. How does one turn that association into a physical FK in the db if one wants to install a FK. What is the naming convention for installing such a db FK constraint that can sync easily with tooling. I understand that it is not necessary to have a physical FK as the BC layer will take care of enforcing the relationship. But my requirement is that first the modeling at bc layer can go on and then the constraint can be implemented at a later date.
Case 4: When a FK is renamed in db how does one reconcile that with a previously created association at the model layer based on an old fk with a different name.

The synchronize with DB will pick up new FK defined in the DB and will suggest to add them to your ADF BC layer.
You can also generate DB objects from your ADF BC layer.
Drag your ADF BC into an ADF BC diagram, select all of them, right click and select Generate Business Object->Database Objects
This will create the objects in the DB - note though that this will override your DB objects.

Well, it works well when, into my applet, i do somethig like this:

URLConnection connexion = url.openConnection();My applet uses proxy setting from IE6 but only if i use Java 1.4.2_08.
With IE6 and Java 1.5.04, it doesn't work (my applet doesn't use proxy settings)
With Firefox and Java 1.5.04, it's ok
Have you already seen a problem like this with Java 1.5.04 ?

The 'content' is generated dynamically by a PHP script so the "content lenght" can't be known in advance by the server. For this reason connection.getContentLenght() returns -1; it doesn't mean that there is no content, only that it can't be known how much there will be.

You can easily use java....just get a hold of the RFC for Telnet or if you look around, you can find code on the net already working.
